Your submission at Articles for creation: 2026 Union City tornado (May 12)

edit
Draft declined
Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. Your draft submission to Articles for creation has been reviewed but not accepted at this time.
Feedback
The reviewer, Quxyz, left the following feedback:
This draft's references do not show that the event meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion for events. The draft requires multiple published secondary sources that:
  • provide significant coverage: discuss the event in detail, not just brief mentions or routine announcements;
  • show lasting significance: analysis published after the initial breaking news has passed, showing historical impact;
  • are reliable: from reputable outlets with editorial oversight;
  • are independent: not connected to the event, such as press releases, the event or organizers own website, or sponsored content.
Please add references that meet all four of these criteria. If none exist, the subject is not yet suitable for Wikipedia.
Article is still rather small and I see no sources from after March 20.

A user draftified it again and left no way to request a publish The Rochelle EF4 (talk) 17:17, 14 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
It looks like @MarioProtIV drafted the article, I'm going to ping him since he is probably more familiar with the article. I've also added {{AfC submission/draft}} so you can resubmit via AfC (after any issue(s) are resolved). Fortek67 (talk) 20:31, 14 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Going to wait until September 6 to resubmit it, now i see no reason for an early publishing The Rochelle EF4 (talk) 20:43, 14 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
I had moved it back into draftspace per the guidelines at WP:NTORNADO and WP:LASTING, the latter of which requires 6 months of still being talked about in the news. It has not been 6 months yet so it is still WP:TOOSOON to publish it. MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 21:26, 14 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the clarification Fortek67 (talk) 21:54, 14 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: User:Precious ovbie-sese-ese aka True love

edit

Hello The Rochelle EF4, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:Precious ovbie-sese-ese aka True love, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The reason given is not a valid speedy deletion criterion. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. CoconutOctopus talk 18:48, 26 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

The account is a bot account posting spam, i saw no criteria for that but the account needs to be banned, the best i know how to do was request sd The Rochelle EF4 (talk) 18:50, 26 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
The account is already blocked; you can report spam and vandalism to WP:AIV. Speedy deletion can only be used in certain strict criteria. CoconutOctopus talk 20:35, 26 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

speedy deletions

edit

Just so you know, you can't request speedy deletion on everything. Speedy deletion is only for articles that are completely and inarguably useless (such as blank pages or pages with complete gibberish). If there is a page you have a problem with for whatever reason, you can start an AFD discussion. For example, the draft you seem to want deleted does not fall into any criteria for speedy deletion and is therefore getting rejected. Additionally, someone may find that an article on a topic may be necessary in the future and may find use in a draft already started on that topic. If that's not the case, drafts get autodeleted after a few months of no edits. Tetradisulfate (talk) 19:23, 26 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Actually, I was wrong. You can speedy delete drafts but the deletion has to be requested by the primary author or the page has to have been abandoned. Still though, it may be best to just leave it in case somebody wants to edit it in the future. Tetradisulfate (talk) 19:51, 26 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

FYI

edit

Quick FYI that I’ve objected to a (in my eyes) invalid draftification of Draft:1964 Harpersville tornado so any further discussion would need to go on the talk page. EF5 02:39, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Why exactly? The draft is absolutely nowhere near ready for mainspace The Rochelle EF4 (talk) 02:56, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Based off what, exactly? EF5 10:50, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Barely anything on the article The Rochelle EF4 (talk) 22:38, 8 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@The Rochelle EF4: that isn't a valid reason at all to draftify a notable article that a) does not have "barely anything" and b) already has documentation issues as-is. EF5 15:17, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
