Starting a WikiProject
Hello! I saw your contributions in the version history for Sid Meier's Civilization VI. I am looking for people to potentially form a WikiProject on the real-life references in civ 6. Would you be interested?
Don't know who you are, but hope you get better soon! Wikipedian12512(alt) (talk) 11:57, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) I think you're going to want to learn a bit more about Wikipedia before attempting anything like that. For starters, Wikiprojects usually have very broad scopes - video games, music, movies. A single aspect of a single video game is far too narrow of a scope. Sergecross73 msg me 12:19, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
- Someone just gave me the suggestion of it being a taskforce under WP:Videogames. Would that be better? Wikipedian12512(alt) (talk) 13:39, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Wikipedian12512(alt), welcome to Wikipedia. Like Sergecross73 pointed out, that's a very narrow scope for a WikiProject. Strategy video games or 4X might be more suitable. But regardless, I'm just slowly returning to editing, I probably won't have time or energy to help out I'm afraid. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 13:40, 7 April 2026 (UTC)

April 2026 edit warring warning
Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing a page's content back to how you believe it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree with your changes. Please stop editing the page and use the talk page to work toward creating a version of the page that represents consensus among the editors involved. Wikipedia provides a page explaining how this is accomplished. If discussions reach an impasse, you can request help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution such as a third opinion. In some cases, you may wish to request page protection while a discussion to resolve the dispute is ongoing.
If you continue edit warring, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, or whether it involves the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also, please keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule— if things indicate that you intend to continue reverting content on the page. Cortador (talk) 20:52, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
- You really should't be issuing these warnings when you're the only person reverting them, and also haven't joined the the talk page discussion I started. You'd be just as liable for adverse action at this point. Sergecross73 msg me 21:28, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
Please familiarize yourself with Ethnicity
You recently tried to undo a change to Benedict Wong stating he was not English but British, in this process you stated that English is not an ethnicity - which is an objectively untrue statement, so has been reverted. Please learn what Ethnicity in the future, before repeating such inaccurate statements. Nudrien (talk) 04:33, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
- Nudrien, in your edit summary you wrote
"English" is an ethnic identity and therefore cannot be adopted by being born or settling in the land of "Britain". "British" is a civic identity and can be adopted by birth. Benedict is "British" and not "English"
. I simply wrote "no, it's not".
- It is not a 'either/or' situation: people can be both, self-identify how ever they like. Wong was born in England. He's English. And British. Please use the appropriate talk page next time when discussing an article. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 05:18, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
- You still clearly have no familiarized yourself with the concept of ethnicity, this argument is pointless. Nudrien (talk) 08:27, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
- I have issued you a final warning. Don't unnecessarily concern yourself with WP:ETHNICITY of an English actor or Chinese descent. Knock that shit off, if you please. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 11:23, 11 April 2026 (UTC)

Resident Evil main series
Good evening. Please note that this section refers to major original games that are not remakes or spin-offs. This is to distinguish major original games from major remakes, as they were previously categorized together, and following discussion, it was decided to add this criterion to differentiate them. I referenced the discussion that led to this consensus; why did you ignore it? Solaire the knight (talk) 11:30, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
- Oh hey Solaire the knight, as you've probably seen, I responded on the talk page. I wasn't aware of the discussion, apologies. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 19:14, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
- No problem. One of the experienced participants suggested a new, universal "main series" option instead. Feel free to comment if you'd like. Although, to be honest, it really scares me that this issue is still being discussed. Solaire the knight (talk) 23:37, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
Benedict wong edit warring
Hi Soetermans, I see you have continued reverting my changes to the Benedict Wong article and have now posted multiple warnings on my talk page, including what you called a "final warning" about a possible block.First, only administrators have the authority to block editors or issue enforceable warnings. Regular editors cannot threaten or "issue" blocks — see WP:BLOCK and WP:WARN. Those templated messages do not carry administrative weight. Second, this has become an edit war (you have reverted at least four times today, and I have reverted in response). Both of us are now violating WP:EDITWAR and WP:3RR. The proper process after a bold edit is Bold -> Revert -> Discuss (WP:BRD), not continued reverts while posting warnings. My edit to change "English actor" to "British actor" in the lead was made in good faith. Reliable sources overwhelmingly describe him this way: IMDb (primary source for many bios): "Benedict Wong is a British actor" Multiple independent profiles and interviews refer to him as British (or British-Chinese / Hong Kong-British). While he was born in Eccles, England, and "English actor" is also used in some places, "British" is the more common and accurate nationality descriptor for a UK citizen in this context. Ethnicity (Chinese descent) is separate from nationality and does not belong in the lead per WP:ETHNICITY unless directly relevant to notability, which it is not here. I have now stopped reverting the article. Please do the same. Let's move the discussion to the proper place: Talk:Benedict Wong. I will start a new section there shortly so we (and any other editors) can reach consensus based on sources and policy. Personal attacks and accusations, including my own ("project your lack of knowledge") and your, ("knock that shit off", etc.) are not helpful and violate WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA. If this continues, the next step for either of us would be a request for comments or the dispute resolution noticeboard, not more warnings or reverts .Looking forward to a civil discussion on the article talk page.Best, Nudrien Nudrien (talk) 11:47, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
- What the flying fuck are you talking about? Knock that shit off is goddamn vulgar language, not a personal attack. I've reverted you three times, you hit 4 just now. - Your revision:

. Jainism is not a major religion and it unnecessarily singles it out. And see Religious_views_on_suicide#Jainism. So let's not mention it, please. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 20:16, 11 April 2026 (UTC)- I don't want to edit war but the source literally mentions Jainism. Why not just remove the word major then? - Jainism is a relatively small religion, while most religions seem to not disapprove of suicide. So what should be a better way to phrase it? Mention the one that is okay with it or say a vast majority disagrees? Again, the lead is a summation of the article. Jainism is just a minor detail on the subject of suicide. So no, do not mention Jainism specifically. Like I said on your talk page, it's great you want to balance out Wikipedia and shift the focus from Abrahamic religions, and I definitely suggest you try to frame it in a more general way, but not single out the one outlier of Jainism. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 20:25, 11 April 2026 (UTC)

Recent edit on Hollow Knight
Hello, fellow editor; sorry to reach out to you at this time, I notice your talk page is significantly active. However, I do not wish to revert your edit without discussion as I don't entirely disagree with it, but it also is not of large enough size to be worth making an entry for on Hollow Knight's talk page itself. In your edit, you removed the <!-- --> that linked to the talk entry justifying the mention of the name "The Knight"; this message of the discussion makes it easier for future editors to find why the name "The Knight" is on the page, in case they were questioning it. Your edit message stated that this text did not actually link to anything, but I believe it does indeed link to the fifth entry on the talk page; it also stated that the discussion did not include mention of the name "Ghost", which is true, but appears to indicate that you thought I removed the text "Ghost" but mistakenly forgot to remove the <!-- --> after it as though said message related to "Ghost", but it was there before "Ghost" was added to the page and instead justifies use of the name "The Knight". I am not certain this is what you thought when making the edit, but I wanted to inquire, as I believe said message was helpful to the article and should probably remain there for future editors. Thank you! Deeb1324354657 (talk) 00:46, 12 April 2026 (UTC)

- I'll take your feedback gladly. If I can give you some in return, there is such a thing as assuming good faith. Communication is a two-way street. If a remark came across as uncivil, testy or otherwise doesn't necessarily mean it was intended as such. So "incivility is incivility" doesn't ring true on Wikipedia.
