Thanks for your minor edits. I can see you have a minor interest in the article (your connection presumably Eurovision), so you might want to know that I plan to get it up to featured article and even front page standards. If you have any additions or can improve it, feel free to do so. Also, i'd appreciate it if you could visit Wikipedia:Peer review/Vanilla Ninja/archive1 and post some comments on what can be done to improve the article. Hedley 23:48, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Heh. Club Kung Fu was their best song so far, I think. As for Triinu, I think its about being comprehensive, and the top is a long way from there, and on long articles acts like a summary. I think mentioned her exact birthdate is needed for the reader's sake, as they won't think to look to the top if they want to know it. I don't think its doing any harm - on a longer article repeating things from the top is common. Hedley 00:07, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Discordian Calendar
editAs we are, of course, both Discordian Popes, shall we set the calendar schism in place by both making papal pronouncements, I that the calendar is Julian, you that it is Gregorian? Best wishes. Jess Cully 02:52, 5 August 2005 (UTC)
- Consider it done. Doing some Google research, you seem to have less support out there - good luck in your quest. We've got 94.5 years to fight it out. DenisMoskowitz 14:36, 2005 August 5 (UTC)
- I've added my pronouncement on my own site: Let me know if you make a similar one outside of Wikipedia, and I'll link to it from the "Some may believe" sentence. DenisMoskowitz 17:53, 2005 August 5 (UTC)
- Flax Flux? Bwa ha ha ha ha!!! I'm changing my link to you to that, instead of the alt.discordia one. (Oh, and my pronouncement is the 1st link on Google for St. Tib's Day at the moment. Not to be competitive, just happy that this discussion is so easy to find.) DenisMoskowitz 14:20, 2005 August 12 (UTC)
Thanks for your good work on Leyton (I was the anon who started the article). I'll be at a few of their games this season (including the opener against Staines tomorrow) so I'll see if I can rustle up enough for sensible articles on Costas Sophocleous and Tony Choules. --OpenToppedBus - Talk to the driver 09:50, August 19, 2005 (UTC)
Here comes that man again
editHello Jess! Thanks for the greeting. I wish I could come to the Kirsty gathering this year, but it's not to be. I'm hoping perhaps in 2006; it would be great! Thanks for all of the work you've done as well on the article. I know we've both been chipping away and polishing - I hope we've done it justice! NickBurns 16:05, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
Hi again Jess, I see you did some cleanup work on the Kirsty article again. I had tried to summarize directly from the Guardian article on the Justice for Kirsty website. I've seen a few different amounts for the fine....I did know that the basic criminal fine ended up being under $30 American, which made me sick to my stomach....that's why I've been trying to encourage news outlets here to run the story and direct attention to what happened. Anyway, this is a long roundabout way to say thanks for following up on my edit. NickBurns 16:41, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
The 1992 Yugoslav Eurovision entry
editI understand everything that you have said and I agree. However, all this does not matter because the offcial entry of Serbia and Montenegro was first in 2004. I think that the first entry of S&M must be in 2004 unless the official entry of S&M has been changed to 1992. Everything else and the opinions of the Eurovison fans and your and mine opinion and this and that does not matter because the official entry must be the one that counts and not our personal views. Awaiting feedback. Zec 23:04, 3 September 2005 (UTC)
Norwich City and MK Dons
editAt the time I wrote that, NC had just been relegated and the season had just begun! Who expected a decline and fall nearly as comprehensive as MKD's? I blame all those Delia Smith pork pies :) --Concrete Cowboy 19:41, 26 September 2005 (UTC)
Hello, mate, I see that you are interested in Eurovision. Would you like to be involved in connecting with more eurovision wikipedians to do up the eurovision pages in a more coherent manner? I have come across the Eurovision wikiproject page, which seems to have been dormant for over two years. It may be an idea to have a look there and see how we could improve the eurovision coverage. I have done up the Congratulations (Eurovision) page so far and put notes about it on the pages of those who performed there. Best regards from Australia, Blnguyen 23:49, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

editYou know perfectly well that JS was not a contestant - he made a brief guest appearance. You are also wrong in your edit about the 100th HM. Gaetano was a HM, regardless of whether he could win or not and if you read the discussion you will see it was fully discussed when Michael entered the house leaky_caldron 09:43, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
Re. Big Brother UK 7 housemates
editYes I understand your point, but as Michael is first alphabetically he should be further down the list - and that's the order they were announced. It's just tough he is first. --Alex talk here 15:13, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Yugoslavia in Eurovision
editHi Jess,
Yes you're quite right: the entries from Yugoslavia were chosen in nation-wide selections, and no-one said "Right - this year we'll have someone from Slovenia". However, that is not what I ever meant to imply in the first place :)
The reason I mentioned the "constituent states" is to make clear that the "Yugolsavia" in question is the one which comprised those states - as opposed to the "Yugoslavia" which has been synonymous with Serbia in more recent times.
I do see your point, though: perhaps what I wrote is not clear, since you obviously interpreted it differently than as intended. I shall think about the wording. Thanks. EuroSong talk 15:49, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
In case you didn't already know, I'm just informing you that the main article will be featured on the front page on Saturday 12th May. Therefore any assistance keeping a watchful eye on it would be appreciated: it's sure to attract many contributions from people who think they're being helpful by adding non-encyclopædic snippets. Of course, having said that, some edits might actually improve it ;) EuroSong talk 00:39, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
SV Austria Salzburg
editWhy did you disimprove the date of foundation of the club in the article? In Germany there is a hard but right saw: "Shut up, if you don't know the first thing." Your edit summary (they formed the new club early in '06 after the failure of their attempt to merge with the Police club) isn't right, so I asked my, why did you disimprove things? PälzerBu 21:11, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

- No, they became member of the Salzburg FA in february PälzerBu 20:09, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
Blackadder
editI know it's a deliberate absurdity included for comic effect, quite a funny one too. That's why I submit that it's perhaps not good fodder for a list of historical anomalies. Orpheus 01:04, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
Lady Anne Stanley
editIt really does not matter to me. My goal was the clean up the article because it was a mess. What you put in is fine, it just needed some sort of citation because people have been arguing as to who is the rightful heir to the British throne for years. Virgosky 16:51, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

editSomehow I misread what you'd done with the article and reverted the wrong thing. Sorry! Deb 19:29, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Kate/Bob
editHi there. Could you include the episode guide as a reference for Bob in Blackadder 4 being "really a girl called Kate"? It's the kind of statement that's likely to be removed as speculation again otherwise. Cheers, Miremare 22:59, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- No offence taken - I'm sure she was called Kate as well! I wondered if you were referring to the Virgin Books Blackadder programme guide, but obviously not unless it was an online version? Thanks anyway. Miremare 23:14, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Michael Abney-Hastings, 14th Earl of Loudoun
edit
An editor has nominated Michael Abney-Hastings, 14th Earl of Loudoun, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Michael Abney-Hastings, 14th Earl of Loudoun and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 22:05, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Hello, you appear to have listed yourself as a member of Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision. A discussion is currently ongoing on the talk page on reform of this projects goals and organisation. Proposals have been made on the future covering and scope of WikiProjects relating to the Eurovision Dance Contest, Eurovision Song Contest, and the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. These proposals include possibly re-naming WikiProject Eurovision to WikiProject Eurovision Song Contest and starting a new project called WikiProject Eurovision Dance Contest. As a member of this project, you may wish to give your input at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision. Thank you. Camaron | Chris (talk) 08:31, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Sami Muduroglu
edit
A tag has been placed on Sami Muduroglu requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Unreferenced BLPs
edit
Hello Jess Cully! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 73 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Reviewer granted
edit
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 05:43, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject Eurovision: Recent changes
editHello,
Please note that there have been some changes to operations surrounding Eurovision articles, these being that:
- Template names have now been standardised, for example Template:Countries in the Eurovision Song Contest and Template:Countries in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest have both been moved in order to be consistent. If you are planning to create a new template, please keep the standardised titles in mind.
{{WikiProject Eurovision}}now accepts importance ratings as well as quality ratings, and the project now has a formal assessment department which gives details on how to assess articles, and provides a place for contributors to request re-assessment. Feel free to add the{{WikiProject Eurovision}}template to the talk page of any new Eurovision articles you create.- The Eurovision Song Contest now has its own stub template at
{{Eurovision-stub}}. Please only use this on Eurovision Song Contest stubs, with{{Music-stub}}and{{Dance-stub}}being the appropriate template for other Eruovision contests.
If you have any questions, please ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision.

Bienvenue! Willkommen! Welcome! Please be warm-hearted in encouraging everyone to do their best to contribute to all Eurovision-related Wikipedia articles, and welcome our new members to the project. It is easy for editors to get into conflict with each other, and things can get very nasty on the most trivial of issues, whether that be on the language of songs, the names of certain countries, or how we deal with incidents at the contest. In such circumstances it is worth remembering one thing: we are all here to build an encyclopedia, and the contribution of Eurovision to human knowledge can only be given justice if we work together and make articles, not drama!
Happy editing!

Bienvenue! Willkommen! Welcome! Please be warm-hearted in encouraging everyone to do their best to contribute to all Eurovision-related Wikipedia articles, and welcome our new members to the project. The past month has been an eventful one for the project as a whole. Old dramas have closed, new ones have begun. Four articles nominated for GA review, three of them passed and promoted, with one of them making ProjectEurovision history by being the first annual contest article to ever achieve GA status. If it wasn't for the hard work and the many hours of team collaborations that we have endured on this project, then those accolades would never have been gained. Each of those article promotions are as a result of your continuous determination to be part of the best team this project has seen for a long time. There is a teamwork barnstar with this newsletter for you to cherish and you may display the award on your pages if you wish. Now we look to the months ahead and start preparations for Malmo 2013, and see if we can work to getting another annual article to GA status. Here's to you - the team of excellence.
Happy editing! | ||||||

WikiProject Eurovision: Recent changes
editHello,
Please note that there have been some changes to operations surrounding Eurovision articles, these being that:
- Template names have now been modernised and/or megred into super-templates, for example Countries in the Eurovision Song Contest has now been merged into Template:Eurovision Song Contest making it even easier to find everything under one template. If you are planning to create a new template, please keep the standardised titles in mind. Other templates have been modernised and a full list of them can be found here.
- The Eurovision Song Contest and Junior Eurovision Song Contest articles have now been standardised to keep a consitancy throughout the project and to the genral reader too. Skeleton article drafts can be found for Eurovision Song Contest by Year and Junior Eurovision Song Contest by Year.
If you have any questions, please ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision.
You are receiving this message since you are listed as a member of WikiProject Eurovision. If you are no longer interested in contributing to Eurovision articles, please remove your username from this page.

Bienvenue! Willkommen! Welcome! Please be warm-hearted in encouraging everyone to do their best to contribute to all Eurovision-related Wikipedia articles, and welcome our new members to the project. Remember that this project can only operate if we act in a cooperative manner and engage in discussions regarding article matters. It is seen as best practice to put forward ideas to other members of the project before rushing ahead and acting on a potential falsifying action. If you feel an article may warrant a deletion, why not test the waters by opening a discussion on the article's talk page or our very own project talk page - before rushing off and submitting an AfD. It saves wasting time nominating an article for deletion which could end up with an overwhelming "keep" by other editors. Communicating with each other is a vital tool and a skill that may prove advantageous in real-life scenarios. Also be on the look out for potential new members to the project. Post {{subst:EurovisionInvite}} (which will produced this template) on any user page you think is interested to join the WikiProject, to officially invite them to join.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. WikiProject Eurovision: Important Announcement
edit| WikiProject Eurovision Important Announcement
Dear Project Member Following a project community discussion, which was raised over the use of English translation columns on annual contest articles, and advice from the lead coordinator of The Guild of Copy Editors, who are extremely knowledgeable in regards to all editing practises and manual of style policies. A consensus decision has been reached to fully remove ALL English translations, as such content falls under the prohibition on original research, even if it seems helpful to the reader. This is because we have now to assume that every reader has access to automated translation tools that can always give them a sense of the meaning of the title in their native language; it is not Wikipedia's job to provide those tools for the reader. Which therefore means we are no longer to include an English translation column, nor are we to provide translation by any other means on contest articles. Such information is currently in the process of being removed, and a new table formatting and layout style is being rolled out across all articles. Please view the new guidance on table layout at Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision/Format and Guides#Article layout. An example of the new table layout style can also be access via the collapsed section within this message. Thank you. |

The article Rola Cola has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No sourcing, nor any indication of its notability
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Tavix (talk) 22:51, 27 May 2017 (UTC)

Should the women's football task force become WikiProject: WOSO? |
|
According to an op-ed in the recent Signpost, some editors think task forces and subgroups are dying in 2017. What do you think about forming our own WikiProject separate from WP:FOOTY? There's an on-going discussion of the potential pros and cons on the task force talk page. Input is welcome. |
New initiatives have been created for:
While WP:FPL lists only two women's top-division leagues as notable due to its "fully professional" criteria, did you know you can create an article on any player in any league as long as the references meet WP:GNG guidelines? Make sure to tag the new article talk page with: {{WP Women's sport|footy=yes}}. Have some new articles in mind or see some that need improvement? Add them to the Open Tasks page if you'd like and other editors may be able to help. Need tips, assistance, or resources from other WOSO editors? Leave a message on the task force talk page. |

Hello WOSO editors! A few initiatives have been started with an emphasis on making more WOSO links blue (similar to the work that WikiProject Women in Red does) and filling in the gaps within various league, team, and player, etc. articles. If you're interested in collaborating with others to make more links blue, take a look at the initiatives listed in the box below. Sign up at the bottom of an initiative page and help grow the lists, add potential references, resources, and create the articles ... or create your own initiative.

WP:GNG takes precedence over WP:NFOOTY (which only includes the players in two currently active women's leagues)? Often times there is enough media coverage that meets WP:GNG or other notability guidelines. For more information, see WP:WOSO#Notability and be sure to tag the new article talk page with: {{WP Women's sport|footy=yes}}

editSpeedy deletion nomination of Stef de Genf
edit
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Stef de Genf requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 06:54, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

editHi there - Wikipedia relies on reliable sources to verify information, especially about living people. You didn't provide a source for your changes to the Homosexuality in association football article, and I couldn't find one either. If you have a reliable source please let me know and we can change the article. Please let me know if you have any questions. GiantSnowman 18:44, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
