oh, hi there! I go by multiple usernames, but the one I've chosen for Wikipedia is Tonkarooson. I started editing on 19 April, 2024, with my first edit being on the short description, and the rest is history.

speaking habits

I tend to type informally because that's how I like to. there will still be other times in which I'm more grammatically correct, such as capitalizing proper nouns on my userspace, in talk pages, etc.
a first instance of this is probably the all lowercase headings, with the exception of proper nouns. the reason now is so that if it were to be typed out, you wouldn't have to press extra buttons, and also for stylization/aesthetic.

tone tags are very helpful to me, especially when the preceding sentence is said in an extremely vague way. here are a list of them on Wiktionary.

in relation with my speech patterns, I'm more of a prescriptivist when it comes to definitions, but also a descriptivist.
for example, let's take sense 2 of democratic socialism. it's ok, but it's taking the word itself at face value—socialism with a democratic government—while sense 1 has more nuance that's more prevalent in the article and in the real world. in my philosophy for this, sense 1 is closer to me being a democratic socialist, but the democratic government aspect from sense 2 highly applies here too.

another example is the usage of “ain’t”. the word is nonstandard, but people use it, and I don’t consider it nonstandard outside formal settings.
