Kail's ideas on directing shows
editKail is featured, briefly, in a video, "Hamilton: One Shot to Broadway." DVD by Vision Films. Part of the conversation pertains to Kail's direction never getting in the way of Lin's score and script. He understood that the power of the show was in the music, the lyrics, and the story telling. Tom's job was to serve Lin's show. Kail says, "It is very rare that I would ever prevent anyone from taking an idea and fully expanding it" (not an exact quote).
