The United States imposed sanctions on Addameer and other sham charities because Addameer is a prominent financial supporters of the terrorist groups Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

- The US sanctions were translated in Addameers "complete removal" form the internet (thus their .org website), in additional to their social media accounts in addition to their website were shutdown. it was reported alongside the criticism of those actions in the media , it was also condemned and the shutdown of their social media accounts, website, was bragged about .
