Facturas (sg.: factura) is the name given in Argentina to describe any type of pastry, sweet bread, viennoiserie or cake.[1] The Facturas were introduced by immigrants from the Italian, German and French confectionery industry, each of the different varieties were renamed by the Sociedad Cosmopolita de Resistencia y Colocación de Obreros Panaderos, which strongly adhered to anarchism (with names that insulted the established power). In Uruguay, somewhat similar baked goods are made, there known as bizcochos.
