Richfield Graduate Institute of Technology is a private higher education institution in South Africa. It is part of Growth10, an education group that also owns the AAA School of Advertising and Alt-Ed.[1]

History

Richfield was established in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1998. It was formerly known as PC Training and Business College before becoming Richfield Graduate Institute of Technology.[2] In 2016, Rising Sun Newspapers reported that the institution had received ISO 9001:2015, a globally recognized standard for quality management, certification from IMS International.[3]

In 2018, Investec Asset Management acquired a controlling stake in Richfield Holdings.[4]

Academic programmes

Richfield offers higher certificates, diplomas, undergraduate degrees and postgraduate qualifications. Its programmes include qualifications in information technology, business, commerce, public management and management studies, with some postgraduate programmes offered online.[5]

Accreditation

Richfield Graduate Institute of Technology (Pty) Ltd is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a private higher education institution under the Higher Education Act, 1997. Its registration certificate number is 2000/HE07/008.[6]

Its qualifications are registered on the National Qualifications Framework by the South African Qualifications Authority.[7] SAQA qualification records for Richfield list the Council on Higher Education as the primary or delegated quality assurance functionary for its higher education qualifications.[8]

The Council on Higher Education states that programme accreditation evaluates higher education academic programmes according to the Higher Education Quality Committee’s accreditation criteria and minimum requirements.[9]

Richfield has campuses in Bryanston, Newtown Junction, Pretoria, Centurion, Polokwane, Cape Town, Umhlanga and Musgrave.[10]
