OpenEye is an American company providing cloud-managed and AI video surveillance software and products.
History
editOpenEye (incorporated as PC Open Inc.), was founded in 1999 in Spokane, Washington, by Rick Sheppard.[1] In 2001, OpenEye introduced its first digital video recorder at ISC East.[2]
In 2016, OpenEye launched the cloud-managed video surveillance platform OpenEye Web Services (OWS).[3]
DMP announced its integration with both OpenEye and Hikvision in DMP’s Virtual Keypad app in 2018.[4] OpenEye announced a two-way integration with Brivo Security Suite in 2025.[5]

editOpenEye was acquired in 2019 by physical security company Alarm.com (Nasdaq: ALRM) and is now an independently run subsidiary of Alarm.com. The majority-stake acquisition was announced on April 11, 2019.[8]
