AXTY is a Brazilian metalcore band from São Paulo. The group released the EP What I've Become in 2021, followed later that year by the full-length album Helpless, then Unbreakable in 2023 and Hannya in 2024. In 2025, the band signed with Napalm Records, and in 2026 it announced its fourth studio album, The Pain Made Me Who I Am.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
History
editIn 2021, vocalist Felipe Hervoso said AXTY had begun as his solo project before evolving into a full band as live performance became a priority.[7] The same year, the group released the EP What I've Become and later its first full-length album, Helpless.[1][2]
AXTY released its second studio album, Unbreakable, in March 2023.[3] By February 2024, AXTY had played its first shows outside Brazil alongside Chelsea Grin.[8]
In March 2024, AXTY opened for Black Veil Brides' São Paulo show at Terra SP.[9][10] AXTY also played Summer Breeze Brasil 2024.[11] In June 2024, the band released "Emptiness Within", featuring Taylor Barber of Left to Suffer.[12] The following month, AXTY released its third studio album, Hannya, through Outono Music/Universal.[4] In September 2024, AXTY collaborated with Edu Falaschi and Lucas Inutilismo on "Novos Horizontes", the theme song for the 2024 CBLOL second-split final, and performed it at the event's opening ceremony in Belo Horizonte.[13][14]
In November 2024, AXTY was announced as support on Born of Osiris's 2025 United States headlining tour with Within Destruction, Entheos, and Lost in Separation.[15] In June 2025, the band was also announced for another Born of Osiris U.S. tour, this time with The Browning, VCTMS, and Lost in Separation.[16]
Later in 2025, AXTY signed with Napalm Records and released "selfish", its first release for the label.[5][17] The single was later described as a preview of the band's forthcoming fourth studio album.[18]
In April 2026, AXTY announced its fourth studio album, The Pain Made Me Who I Am, for release on 21 August 2026 via Napalm Records.[6] The band was also announced for a 2026 U.S. tour with Lacuna Coil, Escape the Fate, and VOWWS.[19][20]
Members
editIn May 2021, AXTY consisted of Felipe Hervoso, bassist Jonathas Peschiera, guitarists Guilherme Pagani and Felipi Grivol, and drummer Gabriel Vacari.[21] In October 2021, Guilherme Pagani remained the band's guitarist.[7] By July 2024, the line-up comprised Hervoso, Peschiera, Grivol and Vacari.[4] In March 2025, Peschiera was on bass and Grivol on guitar.[22] Apple Music credits for the September 2025 single "selfish" listed Hervoso, Vacari and Peschiera as the performing artists, with Peschiera credited on electric guitar.[23] In April 2026, AXTY was a trio of Hervoso, Vacari and guitarist Peschiera.[24]
AXTY's line-up history can be summarized as follows:
