Etymology

Perhaps from arnë (patch) +‎ -oj, ultimately a derivative of harr (to weed).[1] But more likely borrowed from Latin renovāre (to renew, restore, revive), which is supported by the form of the aorist, as well as the more conservative spelling arënoj, which would make arnë a back-formation.[2]
