Made good progress on throwing together a custom CSS theme for here - even though Tumblr is back to business as usual, I think it's a good idea to have somewhere to back up my loredump posts. I'm not 100% done with it, but you can see what I've got so far on my journal (it's a light theme, so uh, warning for flashbang lol). Feeling pretty proud so far considering that I have only a bit of web dev experience and started with the Tabula Rasa theme (I may eventually dig into the actual theme layers beyond the stylesheet, now that I'm getting more comfortable).

Tentatively calling it Modern Narrow Light (future dark version will be Modern Narrow Dark). As mentioned, it's not finished, but I'll include the code in case my ADHD kicks in and is like "nope not working on this anymore." Part of the idea was making a theme not just for me, but also if we have another Tumblr catastrophe/mass migration, having a theme people can grab that's relatively familiar and easy to use might help.

Also, feeling like I was doing something useful helped keep me from panicking about the reblog mess lmao.

Main features/goals for Modern Narrow:

• Narrow main column for posts, similar to most modern social media sites (Tumblr/Bsky/etc) to make long posts easier to read
• Sans-serif font, for the same reasons
• Relatively minimalist but good-looking design (which, ideally, can be easily customized/extended without breaking things)
• Mobile compatibility
• Custom color compatibility
• Light and dark versions

Things I still want to add/improve:

• Make post and comment headers prettier
• Make profile module prettier
• (Optional) Convert post/comment interaction links into buttons
• (Optional) Add custom font/s
• Test custom colors
• Make top bar at least a tiny bit less horrible on mobile (if possible)
• Create dark theme version (!!!) (waiting to do this until I'm happy with the light version, so I don't have two theme files to juggle while I'm still constantly making very minor changes to the layout lol)
