Summary: Obi-Wan Kenobi has never known it, but he has always been the Force’s Champion, destined to suffer infinite sadness in defense of the Light. On his last turn on the wheel, responsibility for The Chosen One, the false child of prophecy, had been thrust upon him with no warning, and Darkness held the upper hand.
But this time, the Force has marshaled its power and will protect its Champion until the time is right, no matter how long Obi-Wan has to wait and how much he has to suffer.
Or,
Obi-Wan is reborn as a twelve-year old.
He wakes up on a slavers’ ship, with all of his prior life’s memories intact, and he’s bound for Tatooine with a Force-inhibitor collar around his neck, a bomb implanted in his spine, and no way of knowing what state of the Galaxy is in.
Just another day in the life of the Force’s Champion.
Chapter Summary: The location of Ilum, the source of a Jedi’s kyber, is one of the greatest greatest secrets of the Order. So why is there a strange little ship on the landing pad right by the Ilum Temple?
And who is this woman and her cat, who rushes out to greet Obi-Wan like a long-lost friend?

I fucked up big time last week. I completely forgot it was Thursday and remembered at 7:50 after sitting on my fat, old ass for two hours recovering from PT. And then I not only failed at giving your a meta of any sort, I posted the summary for the wrong chapter.
What a doofus. It’s bad enough I’m not keeping up with the few comments I’m getting, I can’t even post the story properly.
I’m really sorry about that. My only excuse is that I had a writing date and I wanted to use the time to write story, not post. I guess that was a bad choice.
Anyway…
Words came this week. I’m still not sure they are good words. But I’ve wrapped up a story arc that has been a long time coming. It’s not fully played out yet. That won’t happen until the final dramatic arc. But this particular arc answers some serious questions that were set up in Book II and have occasionally popped up through Book III early Book IV.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
So let’s talk about what is going on in Chapter 56, not what will happen in a chapter that won’t get published for another 13 weeks.
Obi-Wan, the great hairless half-wookie, Qui-Gon, the Shadow, the now-immortal nine hundred year old little green troll, and a bunch of excited Initiates finally get to Ilum. But there’s a surprise awaiting them.
Does anyone remember Saja Edea from Chapter 14?
And more importantly, the Force Cat, Rori. He’d comforted Obi-Wan on his journey from Tatooine to Coruscant, barging into his cabin and loving on him like no other living thing in his entire life — or two lifetimes:
Rori travels with Learned Edea, a Saja who studied the Force on Jedha and teaches about it to non-Force sensitives.
I had thought I wrote about Sajas for my Chapter 14 meta, but I see that I wimped out on that chapter, claiming exhaustion, and instead posted a sneak peek. So here’s the inside scoop on Sajas. They were created as characters for the (now-defunct) Disney Galactic Starcruiser Hotel, and when you stayed there, becoming a Saja was a path you could choose. A friend and her family had done the Starcruiser experience shortly before its final cruise and she had chosen the Saja path. While the Sajas don’t normally travel with cat-shaped Force Avatars, this seemed like a nice OC to build into this timeline, especially since there isn’t going to be a Death Star around to destroy Jedha.
Rori and Quinlan.
Technically, only Quinlan’s fingers are supposed to be psychometrically sensitive, but I think that Rori, as a Avatar of the Force, will have special powers, and touching Quinlan on his tats is going to trigger some pretty powerful visions. It’s not exactly Quinlan’s psychometry, it’s Rori saying, "Hey, pay attention, I’m not something you want to fuck with".
Is Palpatine Really Dead?
Now that would be telling, wouldn’t it? And after all, all things are possible in the Force, aren’t they? Just ask the fucking idiots who wrote The Rise of Skywalker

Or maybe not?
Kittens
Yeah. I’ve jumped the shark. We’ve got kittens. But they serve a purpose, I promise.

And more importantly, the Force Cat, Rori. He’d comforted Obi-Wan on his journey from Tatooine to Coruscant, barging into his cabin and loving on him like no other living thing in his entire life — or two lifetimes:
The cat-creature twitches its tail and leaps.
Right into Obi-Wan’s lap.
It’s heavy for its size, but the weight is oddly comforting, and Obi-Wan cautiously strokes a hand down its back. Its fur, white and gray, is the softest thing he’s ever touched. He can’t help himself and he strokes the cat-beast again. And again.
It starts to rumble. Obi-Wan can feel it through his body, and it’s like someone has just told him, all right, it’s time for you to be happy now.
He keeps petting the creature, but now, he starts from its head, and his palm snags a bit on a collar around its neck.
"You too. May I look?"
Now the beast understands him. It doesn’t stop its rumbling, but it lifts its head, and shows off a pretty metal tag to Obi-Wan.
"Hmm, you are Rori, and your guardian is Saja Edea." There’s a comlink number, but Obi-Wan isn’t quite ready to call this Edea to come and retrieve their straying creature. Its rumblings are so very soothing.
He sits there, dressed in new clothing that he doesn’t want, stroking this strange and beautiful animal, finding peace and serenity for the first time in a very long time. Maybe two lifetimes? Even the quiet time, in the years when he’d been watching Luke grow to manhood, when he’d found a modicum of emotional equilibrium and acceptance in what had happened, after Qui-Gon had left him finally, he hadn’t felt this clear-headed.
Is it the beast on his lap, or is it the lack of the Force?
"Mrrp."
"Well, that’s not exactly the answer I was expecting."
Rori travels with Learned Edea, a Saja who studied the Force on Jedha and teaches about it to non-Force sensitives.
