Honey on the Tongue

This is what I just posted over at my DW journal. I won't be posting any of the story or updates here but will announce when it's done.

I'm trying it again, the whole posting a work in progress as motivation thing. As you might guess from the tone of these notes, I'm in two minds about the wisdom of doing this--it's never turned out well in the past--but...here it goes.

A few things to note about this story:
1. The title -- there isn't one. Yet. When I find one, I'll edit the subject line. (and this post)
2. The tags -- it's a transition piece. I'm considering it my first jyj story and possibly my last dbsk story.
3. The pairings -- I don't know. I don't plan on portraying any sexual relationships in this story, but.... *shrug* However, if flirting, physical contact, &/or warm fuzzy feelings between people of the same gender bother you -- read at your own risk.
4. The rating -- there is adult language, semi-nudity (so far), sexual references, and Yoochun. Rate as you will.
5. The plan -- The plan is to post a scene a day, ranging from about 500-1500 words. I'll post a note if there is going to be a delay, but the whole point is for there not to be one! When I'm done the whole thing will go up at Nuna_Fanworks and AO3.

Summary: An AU where the TVXQ boys' careers have lead them to their current illustrious standing in their respective fields, but they have never met. Then they are put together for a project.... (to the story at DW)

This signing period for the Petition for the Recognition and Protection of JYJ's Legal and Human Rights has been extended to February 25th. This is to accommodate the translations that continue to be done(the latest is Portuguese, I believe) and due to some of the technical issues that people seem to be having.

One of the features that has been added is a signature check and the ability to email your signature if you still have difficulty putting your name on the petition.

I encourage spreading news of this petition beyond the TVXQ communities. One of the main rights ignored in the contract is the protection of their copyrights on their compositions. Korea is claiming to be an international player in the music industry but the system they have in place to protect performance and copyrights of musicians is questionable. This is one of the main issues highlighted in the petition and I hope that this case will help bring about some security for musicians in Korea.

If you haven't paying attention to the legal fight going on between JYJ and SME, I'm here to tell you, it's getting ugly. Ugly for SME in the court room and ugly for JYJ outside. One of the charges being put forth by "professional organizations" is that JYJ winning the lawsuit will harm the Hallyu Wave.

The JYJ Files has created a petition for international fans as a rebuttal to these charges. (Korean fans have their own thing going on.) It summarizes the situation very well, and if you want more info, JYJ Files likely has an article about the issue that interests you. I recommend the post just before the petition which are just links to TIME magazine articles written in 2002. They are discouragingly relevant.

I made a decision back in November, but I wanted to wait until after these last hearings to see if anything would be changing soon on the TVXQ management front. Since there hasn't been any hint of movement since the Korean FTC ruling, it doesn't look likely. So I'm putting Sweet Harmony on indefinite hiatus.

I want to write it, I keep trying, but something about Changmin and Yunho is off. My head respects that the decision to stay with SME was theirs to make, but my heart is bruised and that's where the story comes from. Rather than letting my disappointment do them a disservice, I've decided not to attempt to write any more band-based fic. I can still write JYJ in any combination, I have some het ideas (in progress) that I might get to, and would even consider writing the five in an AU, but I can't write TVXQ as TVXQ at the moment.

I'm also making 2011 the year of the WiP. When I discovered TVXQ in 2006, I had a bunch of ani-manga stories started and they were completely swept aside. I'd like to get back to them. I love the "Saiyuki" boys, they were my first introduction to writing a long-term polyamorous relationship. I'd just started to get to know the "GetBackers" gang, I need to revive that acquaintance. And the Irish twins ("Boondock Saints") really deserve better writers than they got for the movies. There are also some new ones that have been just lurking because they didn't think they stood a chance -- Leverage, Dark Angel and even SKKS.

So if you are here for Sweet Harmony, you might as well take me off your flist. But I'm hoping this change in focus will encourage me to be more productive over all.

I have a business plan I need to hand in by Wednesday. 11:59pm. *POUT* I have the same reaction to business courses that many people have to mathematics, so I do understand the cringing and sobbing even though I think tangents are very cool (calculusYAY!). And I no longer have the patience to be jumping through any damn hoops. And pay money for the privilege! *SIGH*

So there is procrastination.

Started off well with getting out of bed at 10ish rather than at 8ish, so when I settled down to get some work done (at noon rather than my usual 10) I moved right past the business folder and polished my already shiny JavaScript assignment instead. I handed that in today, so it is off the procrastination list. The Flash assignment isn't tho'. So I played with that a bit more. So very AWESOME for procrastination is Flash.

Yoga, shower, henna application for the grey hair, and food. There's another 90 minutes or so.

And for the last half hour I've been alternating between writing this post and trying to get my sign-up for the nuna_fanworks holiday fic exchange done. It will be done before I go to bed! (Rana nags well, and I was practice procrastinating with it last night. mousapelli's fic is VERY GOOD at aiding the procrastination, BTW.)

I've just thought of another thing to do! Much of my flist moved over to DW during the last migration wave, so I've been seeing a bunch of double posts for the past month or so. Now that I know who is being consistent at the dual posting, I'm going to prune my LJ flist as DW is my primary journal. I don't lock 98% of my posts, so I don't think it will make any difference, but let me know if it does.

Alright, there's a couple of hours before I wash the henna out, so I will pretend to care about market research and...the other stuff I have to look up. *WHINE*

But since I don't have the icon space, I'll have to do it this way.



Rana says I should abandon the current project and write fic for it. I might have to.

It's been a year since the last chapter in this series was posted so I wanted to let everyone know that it hasn't been forgotten. I have a (VERY) rough draft for #21 completed and have been jotting down some ideas for the next three stories. I won't make any promises about when they will be posted but as proof that they are in progress I'll give you a sneak preview.
