I've been a little slower with this one because I'm still a bit peeved at what happened and I'm still peeved about what's to come tonight. Anyway, here's the recap for episode five. I liked the challenge just fine, I just HATED the outcome. GAH!

Back at Atlas, Chloe is still quite upset over Daniel being gone. She really thought that Daniel F would be safe and just thinking about it makes her tear up again. I can't say I blame her for being upset as, despite all the problems she had with him, I think she liked him a lot and considered him one of the better designers on the show. That, and a great person. Poor Chloe. She really thought Santino would be gone. At least Diana is there to listen to her.

Nick, in contrast, understands that Santino acted like a giant douche on the runway, but considers Daniel Franco's elimination the right one. I'm not sure what to think here, except that I would probably have taken Santino over Daniel. Let's face it, despite his antics, Santino is clearly the better designers and I generally like him and his work better than I do Daniel F's. Oh well.

Speaking of Santino, he summons, "Card of no apologies!" while recalling what happened on the Runway. He stands by his visions and will continue to do so. Well, what did you think he would do? Get on his hands and knees and beg for forgiveness? Heh. I mean, sure he bellowed, "I'm sorry" to Nina during their cat fight, but it was clear that he was sorry that she didn't like his work. So, no, I certainly don't expect him to apologize for his designs.

The challenge of the day is to design a dress for a "hot, young socialite." Since Daniel V was the leader of the winning team, he gets to choose between his own model, Rebecca and the fabulous Claudia. Gee...I wonder who Daniel picks! It is a mystery. Oh, he picks Rachel. Durrrr. So, poor Claudia is eliminated. Shame.

The socialite turns out to be none other than Nicky Hilton, sister of the infamous Paris Hilton. I think that's a nice choice. It's said that her standards are high and her tastes are exquisite. The people at gofugyourself.com don't quite agree, but whatever. Santino thinks that designing for Nicky Hilton would be great as he considers her an "amazing muse".

The group has thirty minutes to sketch and then never enough time to go shopping at MOOD!

Marla says that she doesn't make party dresses these days. How about days past? Well, now she has to make one. Tough tit mice. Kara Janx, who has no problem with his challenge, makes it perfectly clear that you must always make the client happy and she is right. I wonder how she would have fared on the wedding dress challenge in season one?

When they go shopping, Nick asks for chiffon in Spanish. I think he speaks at least three languages. I'm almost positive he speaks Greek, he obviously speaks English and then there's Spanish. Nick could speak in Klingon and I'd still consider him fabulous. Heh. Zulema is going for a black and white look, which is actually pretty cool. As for Santino, well, let's just say that he claims that he can turn $150 into $150,000. I believe him too. Just so long as it doesn't resemble the rather odd lingerie he did last time.

Now, for Andrae. They're back at Parson's and when Andrae is interviewing, I can't help but think he's missing the point. He basically says that the sort of dress he will be making will be the sort that you can "ball into a suitcase?" What? Please. I don't want to begin to imagine what he ends up coming up with. Zulema is going for black leather. WHOOO! She says that she has to set herself apart. Not a bad idea, but I'm maybe I'm biased since I'm a sucker for leather. As for Daniel V, oh that poor guy. He thought he was getting black fabric and it turns out to be chocolate brown! OH NOES! He's not freaking out, but there's no question that he is worried as he is asking Kara and Marla for some extra black if they have any left over from their dresses. Phew. I think Daniel thinks like an artist though. What I mean by that is he will take something that's a clear error and make it look like it was part of the work to begin with. I think he'll be okay.

Seconds later, Zulema is upset that her "form is taken". "If you have the form, you need to return it". I didn't know that the 'form' was the mannequin. I thought it was some kind of a sketch. From chaos comes learning. Oh, but it's not that simple. Oh, lord no! Parsons turns into BEDLAM as Marla's "form" is now missing and she asks Kara, "Did you take it?" Why, yes, of course tensions are running higher as everyone is summoning the Drama Llama all at once! Hell, the height of tension puts Godzilla to shame as he tears into the room, eating everything and everyone in sight as "forms" are tossed all over Parsons, Santino is gaping like a stoner watching shiny objects glint, and fabric thrown everywhere! And through all this chaos, through all the form taking insanity, someone shrieks:

"WHERE THE HELL IS MY CHIFFON!"

That has to be Andrae.

After Marla proclaims that "You have to bolt things down here," everyone finds their forms. Then, big festival, everybody happy. Jesus. Marla now wants to prove herself and claims that the competition is no longer about competing with other people, but against herself. Yea, can't win against other people, so why not, eh?

Ah, Santino, he proclaims that he will make THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE and I believe him, but I also believe that Nick will too. Speaking of Nick, he remembers how Santino acted in front of the judges and believes that if the behavior keeps up, then Santino will be gone. Foreshadowing? Nah. Santino is so in the Final Three.

Now for Guadalupe. Her dress is "Japanese inspired". Oh, now that should be neat. Course she tends to add on and on and on and on and that's part of what the dress is. Something where flowers and the like can be added and removed. Eh, okay. Still Guadalupe does as she pleases in the face of sound advice. Oioioioi.

Tim thinks that Marla's dress isn't pretty and is a copy of one of Nicky's past dresses, which prompts her interview response that she's worked all of her life and that she didn't have time to 'play', like the other designers. Oh, what a bunch of crap! I seriously doubt that the likes of Chloe, Nick, Santino and Diana(my favorite four designers) played around all day. Please. Sounds like an excuse. Worse yet, Marla claims that she doesn't trust her own creative voice. Oh, she is huge trouble. No, Marla isn't quite bitchy about all this, but she has to know she's in trouble and blatant copying is something that Project Runway doesn't easily forgive.

On "Nicky Hilton Day", Nick is confident that he will win and 'beat Santino' since this isn't his first time "in the rodeo". In other news, water is wet, bears take a dump in woods and I am fat.

Daniel V never does get his fabric, so now, he must 're-think' his design. He'll still be fine though. He seems to adapt very easily. Chloe says that Diana's dress looks "Stevie Nicks" (OHHH! I LOVE HER) and Diana asks, "What's Stevie Nicks?" You're kidding, right? Yea, Diana is young, but come on, how can anyone have not heard of Stevie Nicks with her flowing dresses and witchy look with her low, husky voice? I guess anything is possible.

Guadalupe is now marked for elimination. Tim still doesn't like her dress one bit because when Lupe says that "looks like crap right now". Tim says, "I'm not going to debate that." God, I love Tim.

Diana is also a cause for concern as she is told that the puckering on her dress is the result of "poor sewing". She is concerned about her lack of design experience(and yes, she is indeed inexperienced), but she admits that she needs to appeal to everyone instead of always being 'conceptual'. Well, that's marketing 101--appeal to as many people as possible.

Marla is marked for elimination. She is obviously copying from a previous Nicky Hilton dress and it doesn't even look like a good copy. Of course, she doesn't want to be out, but can you name me one person that WANTS to be out? Come on. She's even defensive about it because she's claiming that it IS her design. Oh no, it's not! I just want to scream!

Now, it's time to go to the Marquee Club where Nicky Hilton is hosting a Project Runway party. The goal is to catch Nicky's attention with both self and model. For some of these designers(Santino, Nick, Chloe), it'll be a no brainer, but for someone like, say...Diana, it could be a real problem. Santino decides to wear five inch stiletto pumps because he thinks it'll be memorable. It would be more memorable if he wore a General Zod outfit or a pink, frilly dress.

The contestants must show their designs to Nicky, who loves fashion and is excited. Heidi tells them to "sell that dress, pop some bottles and have fun!"

And boy, do they! Seems that Nicky likes most of the dresses and she loves the color of Nick's dress. In an interview, Nick says that "I just felt like, you know, a little Mexican kid in Tijuana, like, 'Buy my gum. Buy my chicle.' It's like, it's sort of pathetic." Dude, not only would I buy your "chicle", I'd buy the turds from your ASS! Okay, maybe not, but yea, I'd Nick's "chicle", especially since the gorgeous light blue dress is well-cut and one where Nicky can easily take pictures in. Diana sells her dress better than I thought she would because she says that her dress will "attract more attention than other people will." Yes, I imagine it would.

Lupe is up next and as she explains what her dress is all about and how it was inspired by pictures of previous dresses, Nicky comments about "one of the dresses looking like something she wore recently. The black one." Lupe says, "Yea, I don't know what happened." Nicky knows that Marla has copied one of her dresses and Lupe clearly plays into that. I'm not seeing how it's such a bad thing, considering that Lupe's dress is at least more "inspired" rather than COPIED. Marla is rightfully worried, but she doesn't try to lie about what she has done. She's even good natured about it, but I doubt it will do her any good.

Santino, ever so confident, goes so far as to give Nicky his card as he shows her his lovely dress. He says that confidence is important and that he showed a lot of confidence. Well, who wouldn't be confident if they made a dress like that? Of course, one would be confident. I find the card thing very bold and that's why I love Santino even if I want to beat the hell out of him sometimes.

After the selling of the dresses, they party like it's 2099! Diana, after a couple drinks, comes out in full, beautiful form. Daniel V calls her, "Dirty Diana" as she shamelessly dances with Santino. After that, the designers have a walk-off and it becomes a room for the Ministry of Silly walks. Lupe does the catepiller, Santino crawls and Emmett actually walks like a model. He commands everything, I swear!

Next day at Parsons, Marla, despite getting dress help from Kara, and Lupe are in terrible danger. Marla asks the hair dresser to make Cara's hair look like Diana's, but not exactly like that. AAAGH! Lupe is nervous because she knows her dress might not hold up against the others'. Can't say I blame her.

Now for the only part of the show that I really care about: The Runway.

Santino--Just lovely. It's a storm grey color dress with lovely braiding on the top and gorgeous flow on the bottom. Makes me think of Alister of Yu-Gi-Oh's eye color. His eyes are grey. Course this dress is kind of a grayish blue, like my eye color and incidentally, Nicky's. Still, I love this dress and knew that Santino would make something like that. Five.

Chloe--Very nice shiny blue short dress with a black waist. However, the cut looks very much like the COYB challenge(and that's the general consensus among everyone, it seems) and the top doesn't seem to fit Grace properly. My score is a three.

Andrae--Wow! Turned out better than I thought it would. It's a gorgeous dark bluish jersey dress with glitter! The model looks like someone from a glamorous 1950's movie. Loved it! Five.

Emmett--Eh, no thanks. It's a black/gold baby doll dress with an empire waist. I suppose some people consider it cute, but not me. Just meh. Two.

Zulema--I actually like this dress. Then again, I tend to be a sucker for black leather. The top is made that way, but everything else is a wrinkled, off white color. Supposed to have a "tough look" and it certainly does look that way, but a lot of people consider believe that the model looks like she got into a fight. Heh. Still, I give it a four. So sue me.

Diana--Oh. I love it! It's two different shades of black with the top being lighter. The top is a sleek looking corset with an equally sleek belt. The bottom is a darker, lighter fabric that flows down the right side of Lesley. I give it a five.

Nick--God, I love this dress! Perfect light sky blue that's short in the front and much longer in the right back side. Beautifully cut in the back and just overall, a perfect dress. Yea, I'll buy your Chicles. Five. To me, this dress is the winner.

Guadelupe--Interesting. Yea, that's all I can come up with. I don't hate this dress, but I don't like it very much. According to the TWOP recapper, "The model looks like she crawled out of a swamp". I don't think it's that bad. It's original, that's for sure. It's greenish brown with a tan stripe running throughout the front of the dress. The top actually looks pretty good as it's strapless, the most simple part of the dress and makes the model look vibrant. What? No, I don't think the dress was that bad. Jeez! The bottom, has that icky tan stripe with a blue flower. The model is wearing a red, handless "sock-like" glove that clashes with the rest of the outfit. I give it a three.

Kara--I really like this dress as cute doesn't even describe it. It's a short, black dress that flows beautifully on the bottom. The top is well-cut and has a side bow. Just adorable, but quite simple. Four.

Marla--One word: No. It's black, unflattering, spaghetti-strapped non-sense. It's not even a good copy of the "Chloe" dress. Blagh. One.

Daniel V.--Yup. I knew he'd be okay as the dress is lovely and for once, it doesn't BORE me! Now, he's starting to show what he is capable of! It fits Rachel like a glove. I wish I could describe it because the patterns are these lovely semi-circles with hot pink being the dominant color. Only the straps, which tie around her neck, are black. In any case, this is his best work yet and I like it a lot. Four.

After the Runway Show, Santino makes it known that his dress is based on Nicky's eye color. His dress is described as "killer" and boy is it. You know, despite being an elephant, I think I might be able to wear something like that. His attitude, however, is generally not so killer. Still, Nicky believes he has what it takes to make it in the fashion business and I agree. During deliberation, Nicky just glows over this dress. Heidi says that she wouldn't wear it as she found the bottom unflattering. Despite that, Santino is declared the winner, which surprised me. Not that I mind, but I do think that Nick should have won it. In the winner's interview, Santino says that he may not have won the Barbie Challenge, but he won the Nicky Hiton one and that's more important. "Barbie won't buy my clothes, but Nicky might!" Heh, yea true. Sure, it sounds like sour grapes over the Barbie challenge, but he's right. Nick vs. Santino is coming ever closer and it'll be an intense duel that matches Seto Kaiba and Yami Yugi in the Battle City arena!

Nick--He wanted to make Nicky look like a Hollywood screen Goddess and I think he succeeds wonderfully! Nicky says it's "very pretty" and everyone and their dog agrees. Nicky says that he sold it well and that she would wear it. So would I. It's well-loved among the judges, but not quite enough to beat Santino. They're tied as far as I'm concerned.

Lupe--She says that texture is used as a means to attach and detach things. Nicky says that she likes the idea, but feels that Lupe took it too far. Nina agrees by saying that there is too much going on(which is true). Micheal Kors says that the tabloids would ask, "Are there green socks on her dress?" Considered weird, complicated, too much and ridiculous. Kors claims that it would put Nicky in the "What was she thinking category?" and the "Worst Dressed List".

Chloe--Sexy, sophisticated, Favorite colors and great presentation. That's the general consensus among the judges. Of course Chloe is still in.

Diana--Nicky likes the top of the dress and considered the elegant belt to be "chic". The bottom, however, is considered non-flattering. Micheal Kors believes that the bottom makes the model's butt look big and that if Nicky were to wear it, the tabloids would claim that, "She's been sitting at home eating ho-ho's." I don't agree that the dress makes Lesley's butt big, but I do think the front makes her look pregnant. I'm forced to agree with that. Still, I love the dress, especially when it's in motion, so NA! Nicky considers the dress to be "cute", but not for her. Oh well. Diana is in. YAY!

Marla--Don't get me started. Unflattering, too similar to another dress. Heidi is clearly angered and full of hate at this and gets Marla to admit that it is indeed a copycat dress. "You cannot do that in a competition!" She says and Kors is forced to agree with that. Nicky says that Marla clearly doesn't have the passion to remain in the competition. So, why Marla remains IN is beyond me! My God! Just NO WAY!

Yes, that's right, Guadalupe is eliminated and you better believe that I call BS! What unbelievable crap! I'll take a swamp dress over a copycat any day of the week! Say what you will about Lupe, but she's generally creative and not afraid to stick her neck out and take risks, which is what she has always done! She's interesting! How can anyone let someone like Marla remain? Lupe's dress isn't THAT bad! It just needed to be simplified! AAAGH! I could just scream!

It's obvious that Heidi couldn't stand what Marla did and I couldn't stand it either! Marla should have gone! She should have GONE! Damn it all to hell! Why the HELL did Marla remain? It's not like Nicky has to wear Lupe's dress! I'll take ugly over copycat! I guess only Heidi agreed with me! Bah!

Next challenge will be even worse, I gather. This is where Zulema and Kara have to work together and they butt heads and Kara is crying. They're trying to make it look like Kara and Zulema are in trouble, but it's obvious they're not. I even get the feeling they'll win it, or at least be safe. Diana and Marla(who end up together and that alone raises my blood pressure) also get a bad edit and I know it couldn't be trick ending. It looks like they'll be going down together as it's made clear that both members of the losing team are out. Can it be anymore obvious? According to Santino, "Diana is grasping at straws." and he is "sick" of her voice! Looks like he'll get what he wants. There's supposedly twists and turns and new dimensions and all that rot, but everything seems clear as day to me because I have no doubt that Marla will be going and taking Diana with her.

I'm sure that will give people great joy, but I will only be glad that Marla is gone. As for Diana, I'll say it before I see what's inevitable, "You were robbed!" I will miss you and whatever you would have come up with had you stayed for a while longer.
