I went to the 'Celebration of Old Roses' today---an annual event the next town over... I get to see and Smell things the local nurseries never carry.
Today I found a rose named after a friend of mine! Not just the same name---but Actually named after her!

Sequoia Greenfield was my 'next door neighbor' all the years I lived in Mendocino. She died in October of 08---(One of the last trips my dog Cu made with me was up to her memorial.)

Someone else loved her too.

I *Know* there were/are a bunch of us---It *Still* brought tears to my eyes.
I just-plain-forgot the woman's name who Did this---my tears washed it away..
I did say Thank you..The rose Appeared in her garden, in the Path (Sequoia Would make herself Known) A polyantha, white-to pink, somewhat fragrant, pretty-but- *Tough*.. she grew it out, named it, made cuttings---now I have one.

Must head out again but had to share..
