So 2020 is over. It's been a shit year generally and won't be missed by anyone, I doubt.
( cut for discussions of health and bereavement... )In some ways going back into lockdown in England feels like it's happening all over again, but I'm definitely aware that my support networks are actually functioning remotely now with additions to the two very supportive Facebook groups I relied on earlier. We've now got a regular Vampire Dark Ages game happening almost every Sunday afternoon, I have a "long distance breakfast" twice a week with two different friends, and have a new counselling thing going on via Zoom. All in all, much better the original lockdown. The new thing is setting up Discord - GYWO has embraced Discord for 2021 and some other friends are playing AD&D on it, so we'll see how that works out.
One thing which did look up last year was the writing. It was my second year of GYWO, and I wrote almost 100k last year, so that was pretty cool. I've pledged for 150k again this year so we'll see if I can beat the 100k mark. I also need to finish off some of the UFOs (un-finished objects) both written and knitted which are hanging around still. The knitting also went very well last year, I taught myself basic Fair Isle over Christmas which was fun, so I need to complete the cardigan and three pairs of socks promised to other people so I can have a good play with it. Also so I have space to buy more Jamieson's of Shetland wool, 10 colours is obviously not enough and the balls come in little 25g size, so obviously there'll be space for more...
(I have no more space for wool or fabric. Seriously, no matter how much I keep drooling over the
225 colours of
Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift I can't buy more till I make space for it.)
