8x2 Synopsis: A memoir of sorts. Comprised of the five residences inhabited from 1994 - 1999, in Richmond Va. An exercise to pair type with memories and emotions and to pair sentiment and stories with facts about type design and letterforms.
An evolving structure to be adjusted organically:
Step 1: Erin - post photographs of the 5 houses
Step 2: Ching - write one word/phrase accompaning each residence
Step 3: Erin - taking ching's words/phrases, write a narrative for each house. - choose typefaces to accompany each house/story based upon research and sentiment.
Step 4: Ching - based on the photos and stories, create a soundtrack for each house. - from the lyrics to each soundtrack, write a narrative for each house.
Step 5: Erin - incorporating Erin's and Ching's stories, design a spread (or many) for each each house to be compiled into a book.
Step 6: Ching - based upon Erin's designs, create an original typeface for title typesetting.
Step 7: Erin - using all of the materials collected/made (photos, stories, typefaces, research, etc.), design a book.
