See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

“Very bright was the sword of Narsil when it was made whole again; the light of the sun shone redly in it, and the light of the moon shone cold. And so Aragorn gave it a new name and called it Andúril, Flame of the West.”

Finished this cross stitch and it is definitely my favourite of all the ones I’ve ever made. The pattern I purchased online from the wonderful Helena, a Ukrainian pattern designer (link leads to their shop). Featuring part of the Riddle of Strider and (what I believe are) mallos flowers.

Image description: the first image is of a cross stitch done on black cloth. Centered in the middle is Narsil, the sword that was broken from Lord of the Rings. On either side of it are two golden/orange flowers with green leaves and the quote “Renewed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king” rendered in orange. The second image is a close-up of the cross stitch showing the detail of the flowers and leaves.

All this discourse over who does "painting with light"

Hiroshi Nagai's paintings need sunglasses to look at.

They look like how it feels to walk across a parking lot on a 98° summer day without a speck of shade in sight.

image

They look like heaven but also like you'd burn your bare feet on the ground.

image

Even when you can see shade you know it's not enough and the minute you step out you'll be burnt to a crisp like a vampire.

And it's BEAUTIFUL

My favorite scenes in the LotR books are the ones where Legolas has vital information and just decides it's not important to share.

Like when Gandalf spent literal PAGES trying to figure out why the vibes were off in Moria and Legolas chimes in with just "it's a balrog :) that shit's evil :) we're so fucked :)" like what do you MEAN you knew already and just didn't tell him??

Or at the beginning of Two Towers when Aragorn thinks there's something nearby so he puts his ear to the ground to listen, and then like 10 minutes later is like "hmmm i hear horses" and Legolas is just like "mm yep. there are 105 blond bitches with spears" like you just let your friend put his face in the dirt and you can SEE them??

Legolas please gain a sense of urgency

It's because legolas hasn't spent enough time with non-elves to remember that they don't know what he knows.

gandalf is scratching his head in moria, and legolas is thinking "oh man, the wizard noticed something off *besides* the obvious balrog that we all are aware of??"

"I wonder what aragorn is listening for? must be hard to hear, what with all of the horses. How many horses are there, actually? 1... 2... 3..."

"What do your elvish eyes see?" is Aragorn saying, as politely as possible, "Because the REST OF US are at a significant disadvantage, Prince Dipshit."

BBC Merlin is insane as a show. Its an adaptation of Arthurian mythos. It's inspired by CW's Smallville (this is 100% real look it up). it stars 4 unknown 20 somethings and British acting legends. It's aimed at kids and families. its a tragedy. Its campy as hell. It will make you cry. It asks you, like Merlin, to believe in the Golden age of Camelot. It never shows you that Golden age. Everyone in the show is the most beautiful person you'll ever see. people will clown on the CGI. Its one of the most homerotic shows of the 2000's. Its an on purpose allegory for queerphobia, but those allegorious queer characters are largely villains. If you watched it when you were 12 you will never quite be able to let it go. This is a curse. This is an experience you wouldn't give up for the world.
