Hey everyone, I have an offer for anyone in the Central Florida area. Three of us just moved into a nice, 2 bedroom apartment in Lakeland, and now we have an extra bed (we're a couple plus one), and nowhere to put it. It's a twin-size bed, wood frame with two drawers underneath the mattress (you can take or leave the mattress). The frame is kind of a snap together setup, sturdy. We like the bed, but we just don't need it. We're asking $50 for it. Feel free to leave a comment or email me at piccolo_phil13@yahoo.com.
Thanks everyone! (Now that I'm thinking about this, I hope this is okay to post here. Let me know if it's not)
Also, if you would like to see pictures, I'll be happy to post some. Thanks!
Best decor and dwelling advice ever? Let someone else do the work and fund it for you. I found the perfect contest and sadly, I can't enter and it is killing me. I would love to see this won by someone really creative and colorful. Besides, who couldn’t use a 50,000.00 home make over.
This is a contest with The Style Network and Niecy Nash. It is the search for The Messiest Home in America. They ran this last year and only redid one room. This year they are doing the whole house. (And yes, I am hating it that I can’t enter.) It’s super easy to enter. You make a video of your home and family that is 1-5 min. Mail it or upload it along with sending in the entry form. Wahllah!
Last year there were only 50 entries. My last update (just before Christmas) was that there were only about 5 entries so far for this year so you stand a REALLY GOOD chance of winning.
Anyway, check out some of the videos and then enter on your own. Clear some clutter and support your habit. Happy Holidays every one. Oh, and if anyone wins I want to move in with you after it is done. ;-)
I have a perhaps odd bathtub problem regarding a stain I can't seem to get rid of.
I was cleaning the tub one evening with CLR Bathroom Cleaner, it comes in a yellow spray bottle here in Canada, works wonders!
I was using a purple cloth to clean the tub, and left the damp cloth over the spout to dry when finished. Unfortunately, I forgot all about it, and went to bed. Overnight, the cloth slipped off the spout and fell on the floor of the tub.
When I lifted it off the next morning, there was an ugly, irremovable purple stain where it had sat. I'm not sure whether it is just the dye from the cloth, or if it's a combination of CLR residue, water, and the dye, that caused the stain. I'm not sure what to use given that I don't know its exact nature. And given the strength of CLR, I am afraid it may be permanent if I can't find a product to deal with it. Is anyone familiar with this kind of stain? Should I attempt to bleach it over?
My husband and I are waiting for our home to be completed in Fernandina Beach, FL. Actually, we've been waiting for over a year now, thanks to the good folks at the County who are overseeing the Community Development Block Grant. Anywho - I just joined this community and have browsed some of your interesting entries. A creative bunch! You can view before and after pix on my photobucket page here be sure to click on "before and after" to see more pix.
Big Wish! oh how i would love to be worrying about asbestos in the walls of some poor old derelict building (procrastinating blog-baron!!), sourcing stained glass windows and victorian bricks. i want those kinds of headaches. someone somewhere tell me how you catch this affliction. restoration of buildings is my grand passion, well it would be if i could find the means of getting into one, but i don't want to do this on my own....any ideas?
So my dwelling resides on a lawn, so I hope that this post is okay and topic related, otherwise delete:
Hey everyone.
My sister's lawn is getting her ass kicked because one of her competators "cheated" and posted the link and lawn number on some Dell forum. Now it looks like even though she held the lead the entire contest some last minute post on a forum will beat her. Not to mention that msg only had under 300 views so I think there is some real cheating going on somewhere and that ain't cool.
I need help quickly! I think I have a dead rodent in the wall - the smell is overpowering, sickening and throughout the entire house and I am supposed to have a Hallween party next weekend!
I live in a house that is 120 years old. The foundation, which I beleive mice are burrowing behind, is made of brick. Finding the damn dead thing would consist of tearing apart an already fragile foundation - not an option im afraid :( The smell is coming up from a crawl space in the basement, which is below the kitchen. Its not so bad throughout a majority of the house although the kitchen is quite ewww. The cabinet that holds the sink has a hole cut away in the wall under it which allows the pipes to come up from that crawl space. So opening the cabinet lets in a lot of funk.
What can I do to get rid of the smell if I cant find the "body"?? Is there any chemical, mirical spray, someone I can call?
