Information
However, following the assassination of Dr. Abraham Erskine immediately following Steve's transformation with the super soldier serum, Steve went from potential superhero to government propaganda. As a USO Bonds Performer, he traveled to promote the war effort across the United States and, eventually in Europe. It was there that he broke from his troupe and headed into Italy to save the captured 107th Division, including his best friend James "Bucky" Barnes. Upon their successful return, Steve was allowed to form a strike team to attack HYDRA bases in Europe, and they had much success, all the way up to 1945. In Steve's final confrontation against the Red Skull, the leader of HYDRA and the first recipient of Erskine's super soldier serum, Steve discovers the plot to bomb the United States. He sucessfully disarms all but one of the bombs, and sacrifices himself by crashing the ship into frigid North Atlantic.
Over sixty years later, Steve is brought back from the ice. In the new world, he becomes a key player in the Avengers, a new strike team against threats both foreign and domestic. The strength of the Avengers begins to deteriorate after Bucky Barnes reemerges as well, and Steve's trust in the systems around him is brought into question when he discovers that HYDRA has been a key structure in shaping much of the world he's come to know, and has been behind torturing and brainwashing his former best friend. Things only get worse as the Avengers fracture along ideological lines and understanding on the roles of autonomy and oversight, until eventually, Steve strips the "Captain America" moniker entirely.
People who make a good first impression with him will quickly learn of the biting wit, firm dedication, and more than occasional self-deprication. However, those who make a poor first impression can find him sternly professional, pragmatic and judicious, and at times cold.
features To others, Steve's most notable features are his wholesome, all-American face; his large but not necessarily imposing frame; and (on occasion), his backside.
To himself, Steve's most notable features are those that changed the least due to the changes brought on by the serum: his facial features (particularly his nose and mouth); his hands; and his freckles.

About
Steve Rogers was born to Irish Catholic immigrants in Brooklyn, New York on July 4, 1918. He grew up a sickly child over working class parents, his father a former soldier who died when he was young, and his mother passing from Tuberculosis just before his 18th birthday. Despite health issues, Steve remained a scrappy, persistent young man - not just in terms of sticking up for himself, but also in his diligence, perseverence, and hard work. When enlistment began for World War II, Steve was there, ready to go despite his numerous health issues - and repeated rejections - until he was eventually accepted into Project Rebirth in 1943.However, following the assassination of Dr. Abraham Erskine immediately following Steve's transformation with the super soldier serum, Steve went from potential superhero to government propaganda.
