Recommending a Crossover story.  Harry Potter/Angel

I just read the most amazing story and wanted to share it.  It pairs Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter series with Harmony Kendall from Angel keeping canon and characters "in character".

Draco's family mysteriously looses the rights to their Malfoy holdings.  The Manor will not grant them entrance and the Gringotts goblins inform them that their vaults are not their property but belong to an older "branch" of the family.  Cryptic messages from seers lead Draco on a journey to restore his family's fortune and find a little romance along the way...

This story is fabulous and a "must read" for any Draco Malfoy and Buffy or Angel fan.  Don't forget to leave a note of appreciation to the writer, he did an amazing job!

OMG, OMG, OMG: 'This is actually a silly fic. Well... dunno why I say actually; just look at the title! But it works. Both boys are a bit pathetic in their own way... Draco with imagined conversations and loneliness, and Harry with his... ehum... obliviousness. And I don't mean OMG-why-does-my-heart-pound-so-load-when-I'm-with-Draco!obliviousness, and more in a general, gosh, he's such a moron! way. Ehum. I'll give you an excerpt from Draco's pov, just to show how down on his luck he is in this fic:
He has to make Potter think he's the one who chooses for this situation to go ahead. There's not a chance in hell that he's going to beg. He may have lost his money, his social-standing and the ability to grow hairs on his chin (odd hex, that one) but he still has his dignity.

Title: Bad Faith

Summary: Four years after Dumbledore's death, Draco Malfoy shows up on the doorstep of number twelve, Grimmauld Place looking for Harry Potter. Torn between his selfish cowardice and his family's pride, Draco finds himself alone on a battlefield and has nowhere else to turn; and Harry has to learn that sometimes you don't put up walls to keep other people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down.

OMG, OMG, OMG: It's still the badfaith!Lucius theme, but as the weekly exception he gets to snuff it in a cool way. Plus, the fic is actually called Bad Faith. Though Lucius is only in it in the beginning. This is a story full with adventures, plot and very nice h/d interactions. There is nine very long chapters so far, and I'm still hoping for more, even tho it might not be anytime soon. It ends in a sort of frustrating place - in the h/d development - cause, you know, the possibilities...! Anyway, it's still delicious as it is.

Sorry for the dry week-end! Here's one last rec with Lucius ending in a bad way.

OMG, OMG, OMG: I've read this so many times... I love Draco in it. From writing caps-lock letters in horror, to - IDK - he's sort of struggling in a quiet way. I'll always remember the significance of the smell of oranges. The story is not perfect; there's some light gryffindor-bashing - bashing of any sort repels me - but I can't seem to mind. I won't explain about Lucius - just read the fic - but, anyway, Draco is sort of lost but takes care of Harry - who wakes up with semi-amnesia - and Hermione is very selfish and Ron's not much at all, but don't mind that cause it's all about Harry and Draco, and I love it!

OMG, OMG, OMG: This is one of my favorite fics. Just seeing the title gives me this feeling of somber awe. IDK. I love the title. I love the fic. Lucius is obsessively crazy, and I'm a sucker for fics where there is abuse and duress - although there isn't much abuse in here - you know, a bit cliched stuff, only, here it's so well written I actually don't notice the cliches. Harry and Draco share this homely life - while they're trying to undo the curse - only with a dangerous edge to it, and... everything is so interesting, and poignant. In the slight chance that you haven't read it already, then, OMG, do so!!!

OMG, OMG, OMG: This fic is all about Draco and Narcissa. It's got a very enjoyable, fanon feel to it. Lucius fate is of course bad... but he got it coming ;)

OMG, OMG, OMG:This is fun, and sexy, and totally rocks! Plus, you could actually make plenty of analyses about why Angel doesn't want to dance - in the canon - whereas Spike and Faith is fascinated by dancing, and loves to do it. But, never mind that, cause this vid is actually about how Angel wants to dance, and loves to do it, and does dance, only thing is, as luminosity states: Angel can dance. Only, when he does, people tend to die. (Which of course is the mayhem part of this rec...)

I'm only going to have Internet on the weekends until the week before Christmas, so I'll have to make some temporary changes. I'm thinking I might have a theme over two weeks, so there is more than one or two fics on each theme. Next theme will be... hm...! I'm tempted to take fics where you root for the morally challenged, like in Maya's Sarah Rees Brennan's The Demon's Lexicon, but alas, except for the weekly exception I don't really know any fics. Well, apart from a fic I've already recced. I might have to save that one till I have some good recs.

Hm. *ponders*

Lucius and Bad Faith it'll be! So, fics where Lucius ends up dead in a horrible way, or go crazy, or is generally unlucky! And if you want to share recs, do so! :D (Otherwise you all have to make do with my feeble old recs...)
