~claps~ Friday we went out to the city to see The Devil's Carnival (new movie/chapter/event/thing being put on by the folks that did Repo! The Genetic Opera).
There were some massive technical difficulties - show was supposed to start at what..8pm? and I think we were shuffled around a'waiting for about 40 min, then finally got to sit, then some of the floor show bits started, then maybe another 30? min of "well shit, we still are having problems, who wants to sing for a poster?" ~grin~ It was some of the more entertaining "Oh shit, there's problems" entertainment that i've had the pleasure(?) of sitting through at least! They really made an effort for it to not be terrible, and were very apologetic.
Eventually they got the movie running enough that we could watch it (tho the quality was kinda glitchy) and it was totally a similar vein of awesome like Repo - the colors and costumes and dark-decadence. Kinda a story about sinners that attached also to some of Aesop's Fables and the 'punishments' they had to go through at The Devil's Carnival. There are apparently going to be another chapter or two to the story/series as well.
Then there was some Q & A with "graverobber" (Sorry, i can't quite remember his name and i'm too lazy to lookit up, and you should know the guy i mean anyway..) and the director fellow. By that point i had to get out of my chair and stand off to the side coz my knee was TOTES UNHAPPY about sitting in the same position for hours, poor knee. However.. this resulted in Graverobber & Director fellow walking about 6" past me. ~fans self & Squee!~ Lij keeps harpin on about how i should have stopped 'em and done a whole lil fan girl omg fawning, but they were like, on their way to the stage - or back to the VIP zone and i'm just not that kinda gal. I'm quite ok with the "dude, he was totally 6" away from me, omgs" ~bounce~
He's totally as dreamy in person. ~le swoon~ He can creepy sing & lurk at me anytime
We must keep an eye out for the next installment! Woot! (time frame wasn't given, but it sounds like they're currently working on it).
