Csevet accidentally thous Maia and Maia has to ask Csethiro if she thinks that means anything and Csethiro is just like, what are you talking about, you're clearly in love with each other how is this the first time you got thoued? Polyamory ensues
Csethiro is incredibly horny for Maia and Maia has to deal with being desired.
Cala has long-term maz consequences from using the revethmaz and might be losing his status as dachenmaza, which Deret finds unacceptable as that would mean Cala can't be nohecharis anymore.
Csoru is being awful to everyone, and only we see how as empress it is a reaction to Varenechibel's treatment of her.
Thara quieting the Anmurtheileian with Hanu!
Vedero trying to give Pazhis the heir he needs despite them both hating the process. Him being very nice despite her having the body horror of pregnancy that she agreed to.

Csethiro Ceredin/Maia Drazhar - I want to see how they fall in love. They'll be great partners in ruling the Ethuveraz, but I want to see how Csethiro's balls-to-the-wall loyalty and "I'll murder your enemies" energy works with Maia's bridge building. How do their strengths lead to them falling for each other? Does it take years, or are they in love by the time they get married? Also, does it take only a few months as it seems in Goblin Emperor, or a year as in Tomb of Dragons? Csethiro is finally the no-nonsense guide to the Court Maia needs. He doesn't want to be everyone's duty, and she would like to choose her duties. By the end of canon, they're falling for each other, and I would love to see them realize they are fully actually in love. Also, although I don't love to read about pregnancy and babies, I do think they'll be good parents, and I would be interested to see them further along into raising the next generation (or two?) of Drazhada.

Csevet Aisava/Csethiro Ceredin/Maia Drazhar - One thousand kisses for Maia from the man and woman who are the most clearly in love with him. Probably Csevet and Csethiro bond over how much they love Maia and then Maia is like, yeah, but have you seen the two of you?! and then they look at each other and are like, oh yeah! And then One Thousand kisses between Csevet and Csethiro as well.

Cala Athmaza/Deret Beshelar - They spend half their lives with Maia, yes, but they also spend that time with each other, and have some relationship with each other outside Maia's presence that I am SO curious about. By the end of canon, they're all clearly close, and Deret has relaxed very slightly, but how long would it take for him to fully relax and accept Cala in all his messy emotionality? Or, is Deret just always going to appear that way to Maia and off-shift, is he a touchy-feely teddy bear with Cala? They're just each other's equals and opposites and counterparts. They have to have such intense loyalty to each other and to their emperor, I don't know how they don't fall in love about all of it. They literally hold each others' lives in their hands. How do you spend fully half your life and more with someone and not fall in love with them a little? Maybe they first fall in love with Maia and need someone to fuck about it, so they fuck each other and then fall in love together, too?

Csoru Drazharan/Varenechibel IV - They Suck! I love their toxic bullshit! Why did Csoru KNOW she wasn't pregnant?! Did Varenechibel ever fuck her in a way that could get her pregnant?! He's the Worst! She's the Worst in a different way! He's the most privileged man in the Ethuveraz and everyone who knew him kind of thought he was a tool! She's been slapped Some Number Of Times by Csethiro! Show me all their bullshit, messy, cringey, assholish glory! Did they EVEN LOVE EACH OTHER?! Probably not! It's awesome and I love them! They Deserved Each Other!

Thara Celehar/Hanu Olgarezh - I mean, I think I fell for Hanu when Thara started to look for his flame-eyed captain in the crowd. I just loved them quietly coming to something much closer than the simple guarding that began it. I love that Hanu wants to be around interesting things happening, and that Thara just follows where his calling leads him, and that Hanu wants to see what interesting places Thara's calling leads them BOTH. I love how much Hanu values Thara and Thara's calling. I love how INCREDIBLY patient Hanu was clearly being throughout ToD to not come on too strong and scare Thara away (Winternight!) and that Thara just wanted to have the intimacy of thou-ing Hanu but didn't seem like he could really handle it until almost the end. I just loved seeing Thara come alive in this way as we really hadn't seen him do until he met Hanu. I would love to see them have any other kind of adventure! Maybe in another city or out at the Anmur'theileian where Thara can see where Hanu spent so much of his life? Or, they could be unambiguously together and in love and hot for each other!

Vedero Drazhin/Pazhis Nethenel/Reshema - Okay, so, Vedero KNOWS Maia needs her marriage, and tbh, marrying a marnis man would at least be a more chill time than whatever was going to happen with Eshevis. We know she knows Reshema from dancing with him at the Winternight Ball. We know Maia thinks it would maybe be okay to show the Nethenada some more favor for their own sake, but ALSO there's the matter of securing more support from the Eastern Landowners, OF WHOM PAZHIS IS ONE. So, I just think Vedero should get married to Pazhis and they can have a fun QPR together, only needing to fuck to secure the succession, and then they just think of other people to get it done. Totally chill and nice. I'm happy for any level of sexual attraction between them all, but I would like for them to all be invested in each other emotionally no matter if they are all sexually involved.

Nurevis Chavar solo - So, he gets relegated! What was his life like before relegation? What is his life going to be AFTER relegation? He's so charming and friendly, how does he recover from his father's treachery? Does he despair, or eventually find new things to live for, new friends in his new life?

Vedero Drazhin solo - She's such her own person, and I love that we see those first tentative steps toward trusting Maia as she clearly could never have trusted her father. I would love to know more about her scholarship and how she finds ways to use her influence as Archduchess for her own aims. I'd also like to know what her aims are! Will she eventually have to marry though she does not want to? Who would marry her knowing that she doesn't want that?

Telimezh solo - How do you learn to trust someone new when the last person you trusted betrayed you so badly you might have had to kill yourself if not for benevolence of your emperor? How do you repay the loyalty that emperor showed you? How can you EVER? Also, generally, what's your deal? Not just what's his first name (hiss to word of god), but like, he's a whole person who is present for like 1/3 of the narrative who we know approximately 3 things about total. I'm so curious who he was before, and who he'll be from now on!

Jack/Eleanor - Listen, I just think it would be both very funny and incredibly romantic to see this love square complete. Like, they were clearly compatible with the spouses they shared between them, and wouldn't that be an amazing way for them each to find some happiness again? She can comfort his tortured soul and he can help her with all the parenting, and they can kiss about how weird and hot the whole situation is.

Jemis/Roald - I love Roald putting on his act. I love Jemis being annoyed at that act and being so determined it must be a lie. I love their canonical only-one-bed and how much Jemis notices Roald's legs and how much Roald flirts with Jemis. Whenever Jemis figures out he likes Roald, how is he going to react?! What did he think when Jemis showed up in the forest after being gone for almost a week? I love loved Mr Dart clocking Roald's pining in SotBS, and I could totally see him getting involved in making Jemis see what's in front of him. (Although I do see many of the G&D relationships as QPRs, I would like Jemis/Roald to Not be in a group relationship with any additional friends.)

Solo Jack - I am so curious about what Jack cannot say about the Loessi Prison. How does he know the Lord of Purple and Gold is there? What did they do to him magically to bind him that way? Who else is held there? How did he escape after the Fall?

Solo Roald - When I say I love Roald putting on his act, I mean that I love that he seems so clearly to be putting on a mask in every facet of his life up until he arrives in Jemis's room in LiaM and then we are in on the masks. I just love when someone makes their own identity so fluid, they don't have to wear an actual mask to wear a mask. Roald has all the identity porn of being a superhero, and I love that about him. I'd love to see really anything you could tell me about what he gets up to, any time. Also, I could really ship him with just about anyone, so please do make him be ridiculous with anyone you like!

The Lost Prince Prompts

The Rat learns what a blow job is and cannot think of that with anyone but Marco, then thinks Marco will hate him for wanting to be together that way, but of course Marco wants everything he could possibly have with The Rat.
Marco has to get married, and he's dreading it. His bride takes one look at Marco and The Rat together and says, Whatever that is should keep going or I have to back out because I am not going to be the reason you two don't get to be together. Marco maybe didn't know he was in love with The Rat.
Marco figures out all his aggressive thoughts about being Incredibly A Boy are obfuscation for how he actually feels: like being a woman would make him happier. Of course The Rat would love Marco no matter Marco's gender, and maybe they find a woman who would love Queen Ivorina as much as she would have a King Ivor.
The Samavian Barons demand Stefan's marriage for more heirs and somehow Stefan has to find a woman who would be as good and special as his dead wife. (Trans Stefan quite encouraged!)

On the subject of The Rat's name, I like Jeremy or James if not everyone is calling him The Rat post-canon.Marco/The Rat - They save Samavia together! And along the way, they are just so fucking intense with each other, I cannot see a world where they don't stay intense with each other to the bafflement of nearly everyone around them. The Rat really reads to me as a kid who hasn't yet figured out you can be disabled and neurodivergent and gay and people will still like you. Marco just reads as a kid who needed a deeper friend and now that he found The Rat, he's not letting go, no matter what their relationship's shape takes in the future.
Marco/The Rat/Female OC - I mean, really, I don't see a world where Marco doesn't have to secure the succession. And, I also don't see a world where The Rat isn't very much inside Marco's marriage because, as previously stated, they're just so fucking intense with each other. I'd like to meet the woman who is into them both because she's also just that fucking intense, or who sees how happy The Rat makes Marco and wants them to have that happiness because who doesn't want them to be happy? Or, the most hilarious option, she informs Marco and the Rat that they ought to be together if they're not already because they're just THAT weird about each other, they really should fuck and take the UST out of it at least.

Stefan/Wife - Who was she? She's haunting the narrative, and we know basically nothing about her. How much was she involved in the plan to bring Stefan back to power? Did she entirely believe he was the descendant of the Lost Prince? Did she know Lazarus? Or, you can go with post-canon: When he becomes king of Samavia, I just can't imagine people don't start to ask when he'll marry again and produce a spare. I like the idea of him being with a woman who can hold her own, maybe who was involved with Lighting the Lamp? Maybe she was part of the revolution within Samavia? I'd love if she is into Stefan for himself and didn't really expect to fall in love with the king himself.

Josaphat really doesn't want to get in the way of the Freder/Maria power couple, but they hate that he's just burying himself in work again and pretending they don't love him as much as each other after all they've been through.
Hel didn't really think she was playing games with Rotwang and Joh, but those men sure got a lot done when she paid them attention... What could it hurt to string them along a little?

Hel was so good, she made everyone around her feel like they could do anything they set their mind to. It wasn't so much that she loved both Joh and Rotwang, but more that she could see they both needed her.

Freder/Josaphat/Maria - Freder is just so passionate about everything in his world. Despite their class differences, there is such a deep affection for each other. And, when Freder falls in love with Maria, I can't see that love as exclusive when Josaphat and Freder are so close. Freder has so much love to give, and so much energy, I'd love to see how Josaphat and Maria temper the fire of Freder's passions and direct them to fixing the world in both an ideological way (Maria) and practical (Josaphat).

Joh/Hel/Rotwang - I most want to see pre-canon when everyone was alive and together. What went wrong here? What was Hel like as a person? What woman would be with the industrialist AND the mad scientist? Was Rotwang ever less unhinged? Was Joh ever less power-hungry and greedy? I'm waiving my MCD DNW for Hel's death IF she's alive and present in most of the narrative since I want to know her outside of memory.

Metropolis is one of the most influential movies of the first half of the 20th century. The visuals are absolutely stunning, especially considering they are nearly a century old. The plot is a timeless fairy tale of workers' rights and class warfare. It's one of the first (if not THE first) android/robot movies, and this robot is both terrifying and fuckable. You will recognize so so many scenes, just from everything referencing them for the past century. Also, the current 2.5 hour version is nearly complete after the original cut was lost after the premiere and reassembled as more and more footage has been found in disparate locales.

The most important thing, though, is that Freder Fredersen is nearly the most beautiful man to ever grace the screen. He's a rich kid who discovers there are poor people in terrible conditions and immediately breaks the system to fix their working conditions. He close talks with everyone and seems as though he may kiss any of his scene partners at any time. He's a great action hero, saving the day and giving hope for the future.

Did you want to know more about the fuckable robot patterned off the woman who is the prophet of the workers? She's got the craziest eyes you've ever seen. Maria is hot (that's why Freder falls for her at first sight), but Maschinenmensch is the hottest thing any of the rich men has ever seen. The gif of men in suits panting? They're panting over Maria because she's doing a sexy dance to entice them to do her bidding. She's so hot she starts a riot.

Beautiful action heros and fuckable robots not your thing? Can I introduce you to Josaphat? He's Freder's father's secretary, and there is SO MUCH UST between him and Freder. He's gotten caught up in this thing, but he's doing the right thing, despite just being some guy. He's got the energy of a very anxious but good-natured potato. He's the best, and I always wish he'd lean in when Freder is close-talking and just give a little kiss.

Oh, you want a withholding, cold old man? Joh Fredersen is your guy! He just wants money and power until his son gets too involved with the workers' uprising. He's got a weird severed love-triangle going with the mad scientist and his dead wife, which is ripe with unrealized potential. He sucks until he doesn't, and it's implied he could have a thing with the Maschinenmensch Maria.

Crazy Eyes Mad Scientist? Rotwang made the Maschinenmensch, and the worker's uprising is just the moment to use it! What's up with the giant bust of Joh Fredersen's dead wife Hel? NEVER YOU MIND. He's creepy and menacing, and his house makes exactly zero sense.

This movie is a classic for a thousand good reasons, and if you like any sci-fi or robots, or love stories, or slashy UST, you should definitely check out this movie!

Metropolis is free on Youtube in most, if not all countries. It is also available to buy or rent on some paid digital stores, or as a DVD. You can probably get it from your local library system on DVD!

Here are all of my shipping thoughts!

Freder/Josaphat/Maria - Freder is just so passionate about everything in his world. He comes to Josaphat when his worldview is irreparably changed, and Josaphat tries his best to help Freder, although he himself is then dismissed. Despite their class differences, there is such a deep affection for each other. And, when Freder falls in love with Maria, I can't see that love as exclusive when Josaphat and Freder are so close. Freder has so much love to give, and so much energy, I'd love to see how Josaphat and Maria temper the fire of Freder's passions and direct them to fixing the world in both an ideological way (Maria) and practical (Josaphat).

Freder/Maria - First of all, they just kiss so beautifully. Second, I have always loved how they are both people of action, using the tools at their disposal to fix things, whenever they find something to fix. Maria was the prophet alone, but in my mind, Maria and Freder together are the savior of the workers. I love that he immediately understood her message and because of who he was, could enact the beginning of the change to their society. I'd love to see how they continue to change the city, and how Maria continues to use her words to guide Freder if he ever strays from their noble purpose.

Joh/Hel/Rotwang - I most want to see pre-canon when everyone was alive and together. What went wrong here? What was Hel like as a person? What woman would be with the industrialist AND the mad scientist? Was Rotwang ever less unhinged? Was Joh ever less power-hungry and greedy? Freder/Georgy/Josaphat/Maria - Let's live in a world where Georgy didn't die, and got to be the voice of the common worker in the post-canon rebuilding! With their strengths combined, they can make a better world, and I would like to see how they do that and love each other through it.

Okay, so why didn't they get married as soon as TGE indicated? Was it for political reasons, or personal? Have they gotten not just politically and platonically closer, but have they fallen in love, and what does that look like for Maia who doesn't quite believe anyone could love him? Csethiro actively wants to be useful to Maia and he's welcoming that! Just what it seemed they'd want, but the confirmation is so sweet! OMG, what does Csethiro think of the trial and the dragons? Is she anxious about the ramifications of what Maia decided, and how is she doing her part to support Maia politically and personally?

Medium Opt-In: Art - Comics & Medium Opt-In: Art - Drawn - Comics - All of the characters I've nominated seem like they would make excellent subjects for comics since they're so expressive in their own ways (maybe not Hanu so much?) and I'd love to see any version of those expressions in a comic. A first kiss for either of these couples would be lovely, or if they have to deal with Csoru, that would be hilarious.

Medium Opt-In: Illustrated Text (Art & Writing) - Dating App/Dating Site Profile - I think every single one of these characters would be totally different on the apps. Maia would be too earnest in his answers and not know how to take his selfie. Csethiro would be way too intense with SO MANY demands of her potential partners. Thara's profile is barely filled out, but gives away so much of himself anyway, and most of his pictures are of cats that don't belong to him. Hanu's is full of thirst trap photos and none of his face, but he's also filled out enough that you get the feel for his chill and kind personality.

Medium Opt-In: Writing - In-Universe RPF - They're all well known (again, maybe not Hanu so much?) and I can definitely see the Ethuverazeise RPFers being VERY into the unknown emperor/the prickly empress or the controversial Witness for the Dead/His part-goblin bodyguard. It feels like a great opportunity to do worldbuilding about who the general public thinks they are in private. What are their public personas and why do people ship them? Does everyone in her set think Csethiro is going to secretly control Maia's reign? Are the newspapers getting really into making things up about the torrid love affair between Thara and his guard? There are so many ways it could go for ALL of them!

Nine Worlds Prompts

Jemis/Roald - I love Roald putting on his act. I love Jemis being annoyed at that act and being so determined it must be a lie. I love their canonical only-one-bed and how much Jemis notices Roald's legs and how much Roald flirts with Jemis. Whenever Jemis figures out he likes Roald, how is he going to react?! What did he think when Jemis showed up in the forest after being gone for almost a week? I love loved Mr Dart clocking Roald's pining in SotBS, and I could totally see him getting involved in making Jemis see what's in front of him. (Although I do see many of the G&D relationships as QPRs, I would like Jemis/Roald to Not be in a group relationship with any additional friends.)

Solo Jack - I am so curious about what Jack cannot say about the Loessi Prison. How does he know the Lord of Purple and Gold is there? What did they do to him magically to bind him that way? Who else is held there? How did he escape after the Fall?

Solo Roald - When I say I love Roald putting on his act, I mean that I love that he seems so clearly to be putting on a mask in every facet of his life up until he arrives in Jemis's room in LiaM and then we are in on the masks. I just love when someone makes their own identity so fluid, they don't have to wear an actual mask to wear a mask. Roald has all the identity porn of being a superhero, and I love that about him. I'd love to see really anything you could tell me about what he gets up to, any time. Also, I could really ship him with just about anyone, so please do make him be ridiculous with anyone you like!

Freder is the close-talking king and I'd love to see how that translates to the relationship. Especially the moments in Joh Fredersen's office and Josaphat's apartment. I love how they're always saving each other. Solo Piranesi - I want to give him a hug, and have him show me his favorite statues. He's such a great protagonist, and I loved how he figured out so much but couldn't see everything himself because how would he have context for anything outside his sphere of understanding? Overall, for the differences between Piranesi & Matthew & Who He Was After Leaving The House, I'm very into the way his personhood fractured in those three specific places. The ending made it really seem that he's not Piranesi anymore, but also not Matthew, and I'm very interested in who he is now.

The House - It did feel almost sentient and I would love to see that explored as either a hallucination of its inhabitants or as magical truth.

Laurence & Sylvia - The little bit of backstory we got about them was so interesting. She was so involved with everything and then just disappeared and he didn't seem to give a fuck about her. She drove him to go cruising and then like, waited in the car for him to finish? I'm so interested in their dynamic.

Piranesi & Matthew's Family - Who did they get back? Do they understand he's not the same Matthew they knew, nor the person he was in The House? Do they love him anyway? Does he love them with more than the part of him that is the sleeping Matthew?

Piranesi & Raphael - She saved him from loneliness, and is one of the only people who knows about The House. I liked the little bit of their relationship we saw in the ending, and would love to see more of that. I like that they have this very specific and internal thing in common, and they're basically strangers to each other. What does Raphael think of Piranesi being slightly different people before, during, and after his time in the House?

Piranesi/James Ritter - They're the only two people living who lived in the house for any length of time. I'd like to see them spend more time together, and be close while in the House or out. Piranesi can teach James to take care of himself in the House and James can actually be content there.

Piranesi/Raphael & The House - I'm very curious about how Piranesi and Raphael continue to visit the House. I would like to see him showing her everything he loves and them falling in love through the House's influence. If the House is sentient, I feel like it would ship them as it would want happiness for Its Child.

Sylvia D'Agostino & the House - Sylvia could slip away whenever she wanted. She is probably one of the Dead. What happened to her? What did she think of it, besides probably loving it?

The House & Matthew Rose Sorensen - How did the House come to love Matthew? Did it make him forget himself on purpose because of his early distress? Did he find its beauty before he lost himself?

The House & Piranesi - Does the House love him as he claims? Is it actually sending him messages as he believes?

Laurence Arne-Sayles/James Ritter - Laurence just seems like he went full-on cult leader with James. How much did James go into it knowing what was happening? How much did Laurence do it on purpose? I love a charismatic predator getting his way, and Laurence is just the worst in that way. Did James enjoy any of it?

The Other/Piranesi - Piranesi seems to have a crush on The Other until he learns the truth, and even then, he's still charmed and awed by him. I'd like to see something set in the years when Val was using Piranesi. Did Val have any affection for Piranesi at all? Did he find ways to justify his treatment once Matthew disappeared and Piranesi was so besotted with The Other? I'm happy with either perspective, and any level of gaslighting or consent.

Lays of the Hearthfire Relationships

Eldo/Tully/Gaudy/Zaoul - They're the next generation of secretaries making Zunidh into a better world! Kip told Gaudy to take care of each other, and like, what if Gaudy REALLY took that to heart? How do each of their cultures handle romantic gestures, or the shapes of romantic/partnered relationships and what does the clash of their cultures look like between them all? I just love these 4 and I would love anything that shows them having more feelings for each other while also doing the incredibly hard work of the bureaucracy.

Ato/Féonie - In everyone throughout the Nine Worlds wandering in and out of legend, I really love the quiet sweet love story of Ato and Feonie! They just want to spend time together. She likes his friends! Buru Tovo clocked it, and ships it, too! What did Feonie tell Ludvic about how to court her that Ato took notes about? They're just falling in love and everyone around them knows it including HR, but probably not Kip. They had some time in Gorjo City while she was learning, and I'm certain Ludvic got lost at least some of that time.

Fitzroy/Kip - I love these two figuring out their entire thing, especially how careful they are with their feelings, and how that ends up getting in their way so much. They're the most competent people in most rooms and an absolute disaster in their personal lives and interactions, and I just eat it up! I like them together falling into and out of legend and finding they're always each other's soft place to land. I especially like them just casually kind-of marrying each other many times without it ever being called that.

Rhodin/Ludvic/Conju - They're just there in the background being hypercompetent, serving HR so perfectly, they're barely noticeable. And, the three of them work so well together, I'd love to think that a situationship grows roots over a thousand years. What do Ludvic and Conju think of Rhodin's conspiracy theories? How do Ludvic and Rhodin get Conju to take himself a little less seriously? When does Ludvic share his poetry with Conju and Rhodin? And, do these three do anything to push HR toward Kip? Feel free to add canonical additional partners to this group (Rhodin's hookups and Conju's boyfriends), or throw Kip/HR into the mix once they've settled into the Gorjo house!

Tor & Cora - I love that she's so oblivious and he's so charmed by that. I'd love if she could give him a hug someday and sit on his lap to tell him important things about the Vangavaye-ve since he'll be spending more time there now.

Kip & Gaudy - What about their relationship made Gaudy want to follow Kip to Solaara? How do they get along in the in-between scenes in canon? What does their correspondence look like after ATFOTS when Gaudy is still in the capital and working?

Zaoul & Eldo & Gaudy - I love them as coworkers and friends with such wildly different backstories! How do they find ways to work together that fit their home cultures and meld those pieces that work with pieces of the existing bureaucracy?

Tovo & Kip - I would love to see more of any age of their relationship. I think Tovo figuring out Kip/Fitzroy's fanoa relationship and poking Kip about it is ripe for more attention. I really love Tovo, just poking everything until resolves itself, and Kip needs a bit more poking.

Tovo & Tanea - They only know each other for a little bit, but I loved all the scenes from Portrait with them! Maybe she could write to him from Solaara?

Eritanyr/Tovo - CANONICALLY BAD IN BED, YOU SAY? Oh, please tell me all the details of Tovo being better at sex than the emperor he went to check out. I am so into hot as fuck Tovo and idiot prince Eritanyr.

Greenwing & Dart Relationships

Jack and Jemis - The morning they just wander into town together in Plum Duff was one of my favorite moments in all of G&D. I love them finding how to have the relationship that was stolen from them all those years. Every moment of their interactions is so good. Every phase of their relationship we see in G&D is really interesting. I do prefer Jack to be actually around, and am less interested in their relationship pre-Whiskeyjack or Pre-Fall. How does Jack manage to actually explain what happened to him after the Gate of Morning? How often do they play Poacher? Does Jack ever tell Jemis what Olive and Mr Buchance said to him from the Lady's garden?

Hope & Mrs Etaris - I really love a woman who just wants to hyperfocus on her one thing. I want to see Hope finding more of the special stones in the barony! And, Mrs. Etaris going with her, or helping her find people who can tell her more about the stones she's already found! (Jemis or Hal can be around if needed, but I'm most interested in Hope and Mrs. Etaris.) What's up with that fuck-off big stone at the top of that peak!?! Are there others? What cool stones point up to the others? How does it go with Hope's name and the lawyers?

Worldbuilding Prompts Overall

-Somewhat interrelated are the Interim and Time after the Fall. When the Schooled magic fell apart, did the wild magic rush back in to fill the magical gaps? Is the Palace of Stars a sort of locus for time on Zunidh? Has HR's work on stabilizing the magic of Zunidh done anything to fix time since the Fall? And, with the Interim making everything so unhinged for that while, did the Lord & Lady Magi of the worlds have to exert their will on their worlds to resolve the issues in the interim?
-In G&D, Jemis often notices how the people who were adults before the Fall seem to have a different sensibility in many ways than his own generation (ie, Jack's more open feelings). What was it like to be a young adult in the age of Artorin? What was it like at court vs the provinces? And, with the levels of Schooled magic everywhere in the empire, did normal people think about how much magic was just everywhere, all the time?
-There are so many pantheons in this series! And they are getting INVOLVED in their worlds! What makes one of these deities choose a certain person to favor? How much urging along do favored people need? Does Roald know the Hunter, or is it only Jemis? How much does Vou'a talk to people who aren't his husband or Kip? Why does the Moon want Fitzroy SO badly?

The Whole Family Together - Sometimes a family is A Secret Royal, His loyal retainer with big "If anything happened to Marco or Stefan I'd kill everyone in this room and then myself" energy, A boy who the author believes to be empirically the best boy ever to boy, and The boy who needed a role Marco & Stefan's life or his broken body would implode. And then they save Samavia and live in the palace being THE MOST INTENSE FOUR MEN WHO EVER LIVED.

Lazarus/Stefan - I'm pretty sure Lazarus would do anything at all for Stefan, like literally anything. And I think Stefan knows this and is very chill about it because why react to a fundamental truth of the world? I think they didn't have anyone else for a very long time and sometimes a secret prince just wants to be held or touched or have an extremely calm sexy time and Lazarus really would do ANYTHING.

Marco/The Rat - They save Samavia together! And along the way, they are just so fucking intense with each other, I cannot see a world where they don't stay intense with each other to the bafflement of nearly everyone around them. The Rat really reads to me as a kid who hasn't yet figured out you can be disabled and neurodivergent and gay and people will still like you. Marco just reads as a kid who needed a deeper friend and now that he found The Rat, he's not letting go, no matter what their relationship's shape takes in the future.

Marco/The Rat/Female OC - I mean, really, I don't see a world where Marco doesn't have to secure the succession. And, I also don't see a world where The Rat isn't very much inside Marco's marriage because, as previously stated, they're just so fucking intense with each other. I'd like to meet the woman who is into them both because she's also just that fucking intense, or who sees how happy The Rat makes Marco and wants them to have that happiness because who doesn't want them to be happy? Or, the most hilarious option, she informs Marco and the Rat that they ought to be together if they're not already because they're just THAT weird about each other, they really should fuck and take the UST out of it at least.

Stefan/Female OC - When he becomes king of Samavia, I just can't imagine people don't start to ask when he'll marry again and produce a spare. I like the idea of him being with a woman who can hold her own, maybe who was involved with Lighting the Lamp? Maybe she was part of the revolution within Samavia? I'd love if she is into Stefan for himself and didn't really expect to fall in love with the king himself.

Stefan/Wife - Who is she? She's haunting the narrative, and we know basically nothing about her. How much was she involved in the plan to bring Stefan back to power? Did she entirely believe he was the descendant of the Lost Prince? Did she know Lazarus?

Veil is a romance manga about a young police officer who meets a blind woman one day and their immediate bond. The art feels like it came out of fashion plates from the 50s-80s.

In the beginning, they are referred to as only "he" and "she". Later, they become Aleksander and Emma. So far they have an extremely close romantic friendship.

They come to live next to each other in the same hallway of their building. Emma often sneaks into Aleksander's bed in the morning to get warm. She works in his station answering the telephone and leaving messages.

One of the themes of their relationship is Emma wanting independence despite her blindness and Aleksander wanting to give her the independence she wants, while also feeling protective of her and needing her in different ways to how she needs him.

There is not much dialogue, and most of the first few volumes are told in somewhat un-linked vignettes. It is extremely easy to read through all of what is currently translated in a few hours.

Solo Aim - What is the deal with Aim The Angel? She's a message in a person and a doctor and a dog owner and a strategist(?!) and suddenly Nona is not just a traumatized child, but also a lyctor. She's BOE, but somehow more than BOE, and at the end of Nona's book, she's in the heart of the empire and I just want to know everything about her!

Aiglamene & Gideon Nav - Aiglamene is like, the one person who saw the value in Gideon pre-canon. I would love to see anything about their relationship. In so many ways, Aiglamene is Gideon's mom more than anyone else.

Nona & Pash - Nona has a little crush on Pash, but also just thinks Pash is a badass. If Pash ever noticed this, how would she feel about the lyctor having a crush on her?

Ortus & Abigail & Magnus are in an impossible situation in Harrow's mind-bubble, but despite the nightmarish qualities, they seem to be doing alright. How do they all get to know each other, and how do they figure out remotely what is happening? What is it like for Ortus to finally have friends close to his own age? What is it like for them all to basically know they're already dead?

Ortus & Harrow - Boy, Harrowhark cannot catch a break, even in her own head, huh? Chill hangout with Ortus Nigenad? Just a nice quiet vibe for Harrow in her time of need. They were necro & cavalier for some time before the events of GtN, and I love their dynamic in HtN. I'd love to see them be as close to friends as they can be with, you know, all of the Ninth situation.

Cam/Pal/Pyrrha - I think they're bone-meltingly hot because they are all so controlled in everything they do, what happens when they let go? Pyrrha is a desperately passionate person and a hyper-competent badass both with people and as a weapon. Camilla and Palamedes cannot be together, but they can both be with Pyrrha, and they can share as many words as they want. That little apartment was a pressure cooker in many ways, and I think one of those ways was sexual.

Cam & Pal & Pyrrha - They had to take care of Nona and not get killed for a LONG time. How did their collective adjustment take, and how much did they all step on each other's toes about everything? Pyrrha hadn't had that kind of relationship in about 10,000 years. Cam & Pal were best friends and couldn't talk to each other. They were all so messy with history, and that last week was just ONE WEEK of all of their lives with Nona.

Cam & Pal - They're just IN THIS together. Ride or die in a thousand ways. They are a team who respect each other so intensely, but there's also a generosity in their friendship that includes others outside just them. I love them in any way, whatever form their relationship takes.

Cam/Pal - They seem pretty clearly in love in NtN. Sharing a body is so incredibly intimate. I would love to know if they ever consummated their relationship, or if one of them never realized they were in love until it was impossible to touch. There's so much angsty romantic potential!

Gideon & Nona - They really don't seem to like each other, but Nona is fascinated by Gideon despite their mutual aversion. I'd love to know what all of their NtN interactions were like from Gideon's perspective! This is the body of Harrow with the mind of someone else! Gideon has literally been in there herself. What is any of that like?

Gideon & Pash - I feel like there's really big "Who's that other dog" energy between them. They're both the tank, and that could go one of many ways. Pash is pissed to be going anywhere in Dominicus, and Gideon is pissed about everything. How hard do they engage in a strap-comparison?

Hot Sauce & Nona - Who among us didn't have that one bad friend as a kid? Who among us doesn't still remember that one bad friend with such fondness it hurts? That's Hot Sauce to me. Tell me what Hot Sauce remembers about Nona as she grows into a badass BoE agent.

Jeannemary & Gideon and Jeannemary & Isaac - Oh the teens are just so teenaged. I love them in all their rebellion attempts! They're both so in awe of Gideon, and Gideon seems pretty baffled by the whole thing.

Palamedes & Juno Zeta - I loved the affection between them in NtN! What's their relationship like? What was it like for Juno to learn about ANY of the lyctor trials and know that Palamedes was living in first Cam's and then Naberius's body?

Pyrrha & Gideon Nav - I just think Pyrrha would feel deeply protective of Gideon, as someone accidentally named after her best friend, and the daughter of her lover. If not for the John experiments, Gideon might have literally been G1deon's child via Pyrrha. Probably they both have a lot of feelings about this and other than Gideon's "eww" I'd love to read just about anything about these two being badasses together.

Abigail/Magnus - I just love their love! They are unusual in that their necro/cav bond is also a marriage! That's apparently taboo, and I would love to know why, and how they navigate the taboo. Tell me any cozy, weird, joyful story you like about them!

Gideon/Harrow - They want to fuck so badly it makes them look stupid. Also, they are really mega assholes to each other, and they will need to figure out how NOT to do that if they ever want to be together. Neither can die at the moment, though, which should be interesting!

Ortus/Abigail/Magnus - I think the Fifth flirted with Ortus constantly for months, so they should really get to have some fun between all the nonsense that was happening in HtN. Inexperienced Ortus being initiated into the joys of love and sex with Abigail and Magnus can't go wrong. Abigail probably runs the fuck and gets everyone what they want. Magnus is very into Ortus's epic poetry and probably would like to show Ortus how much.

Ortus/Matthias - This could just get so weird since Ortus has been writing the Noniad for years. Matthias reading the Noniad and annotating it would be absolutely incredible. Or, Matthias falling in love with Ortus through reading how much Ortus loves and idolizes him. Ortus Nigenad needs more love. Give Ortus Nigenad more love than he knows what to do with. Mathias Nonius is such a specific dude. Probably Mathias and Ortus should make out. Or, Ortus recites Matthias some of the Noniad and Matthias gives notes on the historical accuracy between kisses.

Pyrrha/Paul - You know this got weird REALLY FAST and despite how much Pyrrha loved Cam+Pal, Paul is both a whole new person and also both of the people she loved. Show me how absolutely bonkers it gets! Paul wants to experience everything again? Pyrrha seems best placed to volunteer as tribute!

Pyrrha/G1deon/Wake - Good lord, how messy. I love it. Wake/Pyrrha when Wake is chased by G1deon?! How the fuck did any of that work? And, WHY on earth did G1deon join in? What's it like for Wake to be with two different people in one body, as fucking BoE?! She knew she was fucking a lyctor, surely!

Pash/Coronabeth - Pash is established in BOE, and Corona seems to want to do well in the organization. Corona is one of the hottest people in any room, but also Pash doesn't trust her, so what's that tension like between hot and distrust? And for Corona, what's the tension like between wanting approval from someone established and knowing they'll never really accept you?

Coronabeth/Ianthe - No one has ever been as good to Corona as Ianthe is, and that's the most believable thing in all of the sexual relationships in this series. Give me the mutual manipulation and Ianthe exerting her necromantic will on Corona so hard that Corona doesn't even think about it most of the time.

For any Solo characters, I just like to see their perspectives! Canon-adjacent stories are great!

Eugenides/Irene/Costis - What do you do when your husband finds himself with a new boyfriend? What do you do when you're king and you've fallen in love with your guard and your wife is chill with that? What do you do as a guard when you're in love with your king and you've publicly stated that you would happily let your queen step on you and that everyone else is weird if they don't agree?

Helen/Sophos - He loves her so much, he forgot to tell her how much he was thinking of her in captivity. She's so bad at knowing her own feelings, she almost let him go off to war without confessing her love. I like to think the Magus kept joining them for garden walks and then would just yeet himself out of the situation when he couldn't breathe from the sexual tension between them.

Ennikar/Immakuk - They're so epic, many many tablets of poetry have been written about their (b)romance. They're always getting into trouble and then out of it with (maybe) the power of love. I'm interested in their adventures both before and after ascension! I'd love more in-depth narration of any of the canonical stories Kamet tells.

Eugenides/Helen/Irene/Sophos - They're all just so in love with each other. They're building a better future without the Medes. They're all so desperate to make Gen Annux, they all lose their minds a little about it. The Little Peninsula will have a royal family made up of The Thief, his Dark Galadriel-esque wife, his best friend/boyfriend Bunny, and his sensible best friend/make-out cousin/least beautiful woman in 1 room. They've got a lot to accomplish around all the dirty fucking they'll be doing.

Eugenides/Sophos - Gen did everything he could to help Sophos without it being obvious, and Sophos trusted Gen so much, he just KNEW those troops would be there. They went through so much together, and I just think that two kings should get to smooch a bit about how much they love and trust each other!

Irene & Costis - They both love Gen so much for such different reasons, but also kind of the same reasons. Irene has to fight her own instincts for Costis to be in her soft spot. Costis is clearly just trying not to die (stabbing/embarrassment) whenever he's in her presence. By the end of RotT, Costis seems to be extremely respected by Irene and I'm interested in how she expresses her affection for Costis as Gen's trusted friend/guard and as one of her own guard.

Irene & Sophos - I love the way Irene shows her support for Sophos in CoK. Irene is the royal who Sophos doesn't have a crush on, and it almost feels like they have a sibling-ish relationship. What is it like when Irene realizes how close they are, and Sophos realizes he has a third sister?

Kamet/Costis - Their book has the exact format of many romance novels I've read, just without any makeouts. They're SO CLEARLY obsessed with each other, and I could read a thousand fics of them just finally being like, oh we're in love? yes we're in love, let us continue this exact vibe but with kissing and sex. They spent A LOT of time alone together in canon and surely they needed to huddle for warmth or protection or sexual tension sometimes?

Kamet/Laela/Costis Ormentiedes - I liked the idea that when Laela escapes Nahusaresh, she came to find Kamet and found more than just Kamet. I really liked the idea of Kamet/Costis as an established couple falling in love with Laela for different reasons, and Laela also falling in love with them for totally different reasons. They're three people who are competent at three different things, and I just love that shape to a relationship!

Relius & Pheris - Once Gen made Relius Pheris's tutor/mentor, it was so nice to see both of them find friendship in that bond. Relius learns Pheris's language and teaches him the importance of using his voice. Pheris depends on Relius in a way that Relius actually really needs at that point. I love that they make it out and can gently harass each other long into the future.

Pheris/OC - Pheris is just the best and I want to know about the person/people he falls in love with (as teased in RotT). Did he have to teach them sign language, or did they already know it from someone else's tutelage? Arranged marriage since he's an eligible baron? A cute guard? One of the queen's indentured? A former-slave friend of Kamet's? He deserves the best partner(s)! And, as the future SotA, probably he gets to be as slutty as Relius if that's what makes sense.

Relius/Teleus - These two are best when they're either 1) ignoring entirely how they feel about each other, for literal years, or 2) in the aftermath of ignoring how they felt with the disastrous consequences of ignoring it. Relius is slutty even for a spy, and Teleus is uptight even for the head of the guard. They're the slowburn mutual pining couple of my heart! Tell me every stupid detail of how they can't properly communicate until it's almost too late.

An overarching idea I love in this fandom is the idea of the Emperor's Dav. I like the idea that Maia brings together all of the people in his household to become that canonical idea of blurring the lines of status between the people in the dav. Maia needs a place where those lines can be blurred, and I'd love to see that explored in any way.

I love Maia's relationship with the people who work in his household. I would love to see how everyone's individual relationships interact. How Csevet fits into the dynamics that Maia doesn't see. How the Firsts relate to the Seconds and vice versa. The Soldiers and The Mazei. Maia and each of his nohecharei as they guard him in the night.

Then, what do the nohecharei see that others don't see, and how do they handle the extremely private information they have about the emperor. Or, what do the edocharei know that the nohecharei don't? How do the nohecharei and edocharei handle each other?

How long does it take each member of Maia's household to realize they don't know Telimezh's given name?

I love Maia thinking he's bad with children and then his young cousins are absolutely obsessed with him. He doesn't understand familial love, and I would love to see him find the love of his family with these kids. I especially would love to see something set later when they're nearly grown up where they can tell him what he meant to them through and after their parallel bad time that winter of canon.

It's the brotherly bond he can't ever actually experience, and that he can't even really conceive of. When I request this, there should also be some sort of freeforms in my sign-up to guide what sort of AU puts Maia & Nemolis into proximity with each other. I just like the idea that Maia got to see his brother be a father, and with the difference in their ages maybe got to experience his older brother as more of a father than Varenechibel was to him. I like the idea of Nemolis being protective of Maia, and encouraging Maia to be friends with his cousin Idra. These relationships feel like they're all about someone finally protecting Maia properly and giving him a childhood or teen years where someone cares about him and what sort of person that would make him, especially if he's one step removed from being emperor.

Maia Drazhar & Vedero Drazhin - Who can blame her for not really trusting him at first? And, who can blame him for wishing she'd just not be standoffish? I was so glad that by the end of the book, she was finding ways to invite him into her life. He wouldn't ever make her do something she doesn't want to do, and she's used to being forced into things she doesn't want. What happens if/when Maia finally does need her marriage? How do they continue on as siblings when he has to be the emperor?

Csevet Aisava & Csethiro Ceredin & Maia Drazhar - I think they'd be a powerful group with each of their unique skills. Maia already has a strong relationship with them by the end of TGE, and I'd like to see how Csethiro & Csevet interact, knowing they're both so close to Maia. How do these three rely on each other for the years to come? How do these three work through the trauma and enforced ignorance of Maia's childhood?

Csevet Aisava & Maia Drazhar - They're just so loyal to each other from so early in their acquaintance! They just Get Each Other in a way that feels so good to read! They seem to want so badly to just be themselves with each other, and it's all I want to see.

Nurevis Chavar & Maia Drazhar - The scene at the end when Maia and Nurevis say goodbye guts me! I love Nurevis trying to pull Maia out of his shell, and it only kind of works. I love Nurevis giving Maia an introduction to so many things about how the Untheleneise court works. They're just actually friends, and by the time they realize it, they can't be friends anymore, and it's a travesty! #JusticeForNurevis

Thara Celehar & Maia Drazhar - Are they friends? I mean, they're not, but aren't they? Thara doesn't seem to have any sense of when people are his friends. Maia wants very badly to have Any Friend. Maia extends friendship and kinship many times and Thara just seems baffled by the whole thing. I really loved Maia continuing to show that he likes Thara in Tomb of Dragons only for Thara to just continue to not get that Maia wants to be friends. I also loved seeing how Thara saw their friendship and understood without understanding that Maia was showing what affection for Thara he was allowed to show.

Csethiro Ceredin & Csoru Drazharan - They hate each other, and now they're in the same family, but it's neither of their fathers' houses. Surprise! Their fathers got their wishes! They still hate each other, though, and I just want to see them Mean Girls-ing each other into their old age. Maybe Csoru has to ask Csethiro's imperial permission to remarry? How many more times will Csethiro slap Csoru? How many times has she already slapped Csoru?

Evrenis Bralchenar & Atho Narchanezhen & Aina Shulivar - They changed the Ethuveraz. Moreover, they changed Maia's life. How much did they each know what they were doing? How much did they each think it was real before it happened? What's the culture like in the Curneise, really? These three really fascinate me!

Cala Athmaza/Deret Beshelar - They spend half their lives with Maia, yes, but they also spend that time with each other, and have some relationship with each other outside Maia's presence that I am SO curious about. By the end of canon, they're all clearly close, and Deret has relaxed very slightly, but how long would it take for him to fully relax and accept Cala in all his messy emotionality? Or, is Deret just always going to appear that way to Maia and off-shift, is he a touchy-feely teddy bear with Cala? They're just each other's equals and opposites and counterparts. They have to have such intense loyalty to each other and to their emperor, I don't know how they don't fall in love about all of it. They literally hold each others' lives in their hands. How do you spend fully half your life and more with someone and not fall in love with them a little? Maybe they first fall in love with Maia and need someone to fuck about it, so they fuck each other and then fall in love together, too?

Csevet Aisava/Cala Athmaza/Deret Beshelar - Who has time to leave the Alcethmeret for dating/fucking/love? Certainly not these three workaholics! Remember when I said Cala/Deret first fall in love with Maia and need someone to fuck about it? What if they fuck Csevet about it! Or, maybe Csevet notices they want Maia and seduces them both as their Maia-proxy. What if two of them bully the other one into finally relaxing with a nice threesome?

Csevet Aisava/Cala Athmaza/Deret Beshelar/Maia Drazhar - Remember when I said Cala/Deret first fall in love with Maia and need someone to fuck about it and what if they fuck Csevet about it? What if Maia finds out about it and gets sad they didn't think he'd fuck them! No one wants Maia to be sad! I also think a lot about how incredibly repressed Maia is, and how much he doesn't want to be in charge of everything. But, with Csevet, Deret, and Cala (during the canon period), he has the most intimate and trusting relationships of his life so far. With these men who he loves and who love him, he could finally let himself relax and submit in ways that seem like they would be a comfort to him.

Csethiro Ceredin/Maia Drazhar - I want to see how they fall in love. They'll be great partners in ruling the Ethuveraz, but I want to see how Csethiro's balls-to-the-wall loyalty and "I'll murder your enemies" energy works with Maia's bridge building. How do their strengths lead to them falling for each other? Does it take years, or are they in love by the time they get married? Also, does it take only a few months as it seems in Goblin Emperor, or a year as in Tomb of Dragons? Csethiro is finally the no-nonsense guide to the Court Maia needs. He doesn't want to be everyone's duty, and she would like to choose her duties. By the end of canon, they're falling for each other, and I would love to see them realize they are fully actually in love. Also, although I don't love to read about pregnancy and babies, I do think they'll be good parents, and I would be interested to see them further along into raising the next generation (or two?) of Drazhada.

Csevet Aisava/Csethiro Ceredin/Maia Drazhar - One thousand kisses for Maia from the man and woman who are the most clearly in love with him. Probably Csevet and Csethiro bond over how much they love Maia and then Maia is like, yeah, but have you seen the two of you?! and then they look at each other and are like, oh yeah! And then One Thousand kisses between Csevet and Csethiro as well.

Csevet Aisava/Maia Drazhar - Csevet has seen Maia go from half-asleep and confused to being the confident Edrehasivar the Bridge Builder. At every point, he wanted to stay with Maia. Maia has seen Csevet go from prostrating himself, using "Serenity" to him first, to being the surely-perpetually-exhausted hypercompetent badass secretary of the emperor. At every point, he wanted Csevet by his side. I lose count of the times in canon I just want them to kiss or say they love each other.

Maia Drazhar/Telimezh - There's something very sweet about how Telimezh is intimidated by Maia and Maia is almost casually like, no you belong in my service. I just like the idea that they each have at least one person who understands what it's like in the far western marshes while they live in extreme opulence at court. I think their relationship is very quiet and subtle and that they're a soft place in all the intensity of the court.

Halezh/Nedaö Vechin - She loved him so much, she very nearly prostituted herself for his goals. From her last scene, it seems like their love is requited. I would love to know how *gestures* all of that worked itself out. How do an opera singer and a clocksmith fall in love? With what we know about opera culture from Thara's books, what will their future look like? Does Halezh feel as sweetly reverent about Nedao as she feels about him?

Vorzhis Gormened/Nadaro Gormened - What is it like for them to be Barizheise in the court of the Ethuveraz? Was his posting a good or bad thing? What did happen when Nadaro could only light candles for Chenelo, or any other way their culture dictated what was appropriate for a wife? With Maia's coronation, what changed for them?

Setheris Nelar/Hesero Nelaran - He fucked up SO Badly. He could have had it ALL, and all it would have taken was not being an unrelenting dick to a child. Obviously she had always seen a different version of him, but what was that version? When he returned from relegation, was he any different than he had been before relegation? What the fuck did he tell her about his relationship with Maia? And, after she learned the truth about his abuse of Maia, could she forgive him? I genuinely think it's interesting if she CAN forgive him, since he's Not that person with her. Their relationship in any phase is interesting, and I'd love to see a nuanced take on how they function!

Thara Celehar/Iäna Pel-Thenhior - Thara cannot remotely see himself. Iäna cannot remotely keep his mouth shut. They take almost two full books to thou each other. Thara has been thirsty for so long, he knows he'd drown in the cool pool of Iäna's affection. Iäna seems to understand he has to treat Thara like Thara treats the feral cats. They're falling in love so gently, I don't know if they'll know they've landed until they wake up one day in a bed with cats. (Please note that after Tomb of Dragons, I'm no longer prompting for this pairing. I now prefer Thara & Iäna and Thara/Hanu.)

Csoru Drazharan/Varenechibel IV - They Suck! I love their toxic bullshit! Why did Csoru KNOW she wasn't pregnant?! Did Varenechibel ever fuck her in a way that could get her pregnant?! He's the Worst! She's the Worst in a different way! He's the most privileged man in the Ethuveraz and everyone who knew him kind of thought he was a tool! She's been slapped Some Number Of Times by Csethiro! Show me all their bullshit, messy, cringey, assholish glory! Did they EVEN LOVE EACH OTHER?! Probably not! It's awesome and I love them! They Deserved Each Other!

Thara Celehar/Hanu Olgarezh - I mean, I think I fell for Hanu when Thara started to look for his flame-eyed captain in the crowd. I just loved them quietly coming to something much closer than the simple guarding that began it. I love that Hanu wants to be around interesting things happening, and that Thara just follows where his calling leads him, and that Hanu wants to see what interesting places Thara's calling leads them BOTH. I love how much Hanu values Thara and Thara's calling. I love how INCREDIBLY patient Hanu was clearly being throughout ToD to not come on too strong and scare Thara away (Winternight!) and that Thara just wanted to have the intimacy of thou-ing Hanu but didn't seem like he could really handle it until almost the end. I just loved seeing Thara come alive in this way as we really hadn't seen him do until he met Hanu. I would love to see them have any other kind of adventure! Maybe in another city or out at the Anmur'theileian where Thara can see where Hanu spent so much of his life? Or, they could be unambiguously together and in love and hot for each other!

Vedero Drazhin/Pazhis Nethenel/Reshema - Okay, so, Vedero KNOWS Maia needs her marriage, and tbh, marrying a marnis man would at least be a more chill time than whatever was going to happen with Eshevis. We know she knows Reshema from dancing with him at the Winternight Ball. We know Maia thinks it would maybe be okay to show the Nethenada some more favor for their own sake, but ALSO there's the matter of securing more support from the Eastern Landowners, OF WHOM PAZHIS IS ONE. So, I just think Vedero should get married to Pazhis and they can have a fun QPR together, only needing to fuck to secure the succession, and then they just think of other people to get it done. Totally chill and nice. I'm happy for any level of sexual attraction between them all, but I would like for them to all be invested in each other emotionally no matter if they are all sexually involved.
