➡️ Take a typing test here (and you need an actual, physical keyboard for this):

➡️ ‘Typing classes’ refers to computer skills classes you might have had in school; you can also count games or other related typing training your parents might have had you do.

➡️ Across 3 different typing test websites*, the (english language) world average typing speed is 40 WPM.

I’ve been obsessed with this tiktok for days now

Person: “Hello sir.” he pets the frog with one finger.

Person: “Have a good day. Actually wait a minute. You missed a bug, but I got you home boy. Hold on.” he picks a bug up and throws it next to the frog.

Frog: turns around and eats the bug.

Person: “OHHHHH-” sings high pitched and angelic like he witnessed a miracle.

OH WHY NOT?

I need to follow up to say I reblogged this last night, and this morning I got some of the best news of my life, like, a life dream come true news thing.

Bagel what are your powers

FUCK, I though it was just another lucky meme but LISTEN. Since a week ago I was waiting a phone call to confirm me if I got a job or not in my university. I reblogged this yesterday’s night “just for fun and because I don’t want any bagel to be mad with me”, and today’s afternoon, while I was losing my time as always, the professor I was supposed to work with called me and asked me for my personal information to start working with her.

THE BAGEL POWERS ARE WAY TOO MUCH FOR THIS WORLD

I GOT A JOB THE DAY AFTER MY QUEUE POSTED THIS THE FIRST TIME AND I JUST REALIZED IT WHEN I SAW IT AGAIN HOLY GOD

The bagel hasn’t let me down yet!

Let’s see what you can do bagel

I’m sorry but vaccines are so fucking cool. You’re telling me that I just need to drop by my doctor, feel a pinprick, maaaybe feel a bit off for a day and then I have statistically significant, incredible chances of either completely avoiding getting a certain illness or at the very least have a pretty string guarantee my body will kick its ass swiftly??? Fucking magic potion.

what are some common occurrence deaths to write or than cancer / car crash?

hayatheauthor:

10 Common Causes of Death to Use Instead of Cancer or a Car Crash

Quick content note, this one’s about death and dying, nothing graphic but heads up anyway.

Cancer and car crashes are the two most overused causes of death in fiction, mostly because they’re the two most familiar to us in real life. But real life also has a lot of other ways for a character to go, and some of them are a lot more interesting to write around.

1. Sepsis: An untreated infection, sometimes from something as small as a cut or a tooth abscess, spreads into the bloodstream and shuts the body down. This one’s brutal for historical or fantasy settings especially, where “just go to a doctor” isn’t an option.

2. Drowning: Fast, quiet, and doesn’t require a major backstory. Great for accidental deaths or ones you want to feel senseless rather than dramatic.

3. Falls: Statistically one of the most common causes of accidental death, especially for older characters, and criminally underused in fiction. Stairs, ladders, roofs, cliffs, take your pick.

4. Accidental Overdose: Not always a substance abuse storyline. Wrong medication, wrong dosage, a bad mix of two things that shouldn’t have been taken together. Handle this one with care and do your research, it’s a sensitive topic for a lot of readers.

5. Anaphylaxis: A severe allergic reaction that can kill in minutes without the right treatment. Good for a death that feels random and unfair, which, let’s be honest, a lot of deaths are.

6. Aneurysm: Sudden, often with zero warning signs, and devastating for the people left behind because there’s nothing to prepare for. Useful if you want a death that hits mid-scene with no buildup at all.

7. Hypothermia / Exposure: Cold, slow, and disturbingly peaceful compared to how it sounds. Good for survival stories, war settings, or anything where your character is stranded somewhere.

8. Choking: Common, mundane, and rarely used in fiction probably because it sounds too ordinary. That’s exactly what makes it effective for a death that isn’t supposed to feel narratively “earned.”

9. Smoke Inhalation: Kills faster than the fire itself in most real house fires. If you’re writing a fire scene, this is probably the actual cause of death, not the flames.

10. Electrocution: Downed power lines, faulty wiring, water and electricity mixing where they shouldn’t. Quick, and pairs well with a storm scene if you want the atmosphere to do some of the work.

I want to be clear this isn’t a “pick the most dramatic option” list, some of these work precisely because they’re not dramatic. A death that feels sudden and a little unfair often lands harder on the reader than one with a big speech attached to it.
