Prologue smiles; it doesn't reach his eye. Epilogue is quiet. "What is it with you people and these horrible ideas. Why do you want to be dead so badly just to hurt me? Is it funny to you?" He hisses, hands clenched at his sides. "Is it fun to see me tremble? Is it fun to see me cry, sob, and be confused? Is it fun to see me be alone?" Prologue scoffs, angry and sad, face turned away. Epilogue glances at you, frowning. (Whenever you guys type Y/N, he just sees YOUR name btw SKGHSKJG)

The Father of Spiders looks intimidating at first... And at second. He's a sweetheart to whoever deserves it. Creator of the Minis, little spider robots that are perfect for recon- and for gossip. There is nothing he doesn't know and, if he doesn't, it's just a matter of time until he does. If you ever think you've fooled him, think again. If you ever manage to surprise him, congratulations- but it won't happen a second time.
He's a true gentleman, extravagant to a fault and designs most of his (and the Morning Star and Circus crews) get-ups. It's easy and fast to sew/weld/assemble things with 6 hands. Watching him do anything with all 6 hands is dizzying but fascinating.
Can fight. VERY well in fact, but he has mastered the art of fancy fight; think of a battle butler that straightens his tie afterwards and doesn't even break a sweat. Not a hair or button out of place afterwards. And of course his cane is a sword too, duh, it would be dissapointing if it wasn't.
His theme song is "How It's Done" by HUNTR/X. "Fit-check for my Napalm era", baby.
His third pair of arms is smaller and comes out through his back, below where a ribcage would end. Rarely uses those, keeping them crossed up his back most of the time.
DJ is an acronym of his actual name; so he's called just DJ, not The DJ. No one knows what his name is, tho.
Drawing him is being the bane of my existance especifically because of the mustache. Apparently I suck at facial hair. And because if he's not the most badass creature in the room at all times, it's not good enough for me.
there’s a level of closed-mindedness to a certain very vocal subset of tadc fans that i just… don’t know how to address. it’s exhausting and they’re louder than the 12 year olds doing baby’s first fandom things at this point.
the thesis statement for these people is mainly ‘jax wasn’t a main character but gooseworx played favourites’ and/or ‘the finale is bad because it forces us to have sympathy for jax’. and i can understand disliking a character! hell, i agree that the finale should’ve given the other characters more screentime. but those two statements betray just an honestly exhausting amount of either wilful stupidity or painfully rigid thinking.
jax was always a main character, i’m sorry to be the one to break that to you. never quite as central as pomni, but certainly more than the rest of the characters. yes, from episode 1. in the pilot, they lead the secondary plot. in episode 2, they’re the most active character besides pomni and gummigoo. episode 3, sure! they’re sidelined for zooble! and episode 4, both them and pomni are sidelined for gangle. episode 5, they arguably get the most focus out of anyone except maybe ragatha. episode 6 is entirely about them. episode 7, their character arc is a major element of the episode plot. episode 8, they’re out of focus but still more central than the other circus members, bar kinger and pomni. they were a major focus point through the entire show, had a central ongoing arc, and in most episodes had an equal or almost-equal amount of screentime to pomni. is that enough to prove that they’ve been a main character this whole time? not to these people, apparently.
and you’re allowed to not like a character! you’re also allowed to dislike that a character was painted sympathetically! but that isn’t a writing flaw, that’s a personal opinion. you don’t buy into the redeeming elements of their arc, so you don’t give them sympathy. that isn’t an objective concept you can force everyone to agree with, and certainly isn’t a reflection on the writer. no matter how much you want it to be.
of course, these people refuse to acknowledge that. or give any sort of thought out reasoning that doesn’t boil down to ‘well i just don’t like jax / i think gooseworx is a bad person / i’m projecting my own abuser’s actions onto jax, therefore bad and evil’.
these are the same people that take gooseworx’s tumblr being deleted as a personal attack on them, for some reason? the idea i’ve been seeing a lot is that she threw a hissy fit and deactivated because people were mean, and now nobody can see any character lore that isn’t about jax. and the irony is just… lost on them. they don’t seem to grasp that it’s people assuming the worst of someone’s every action, harassing someone for their writing, and using those same beliefs to call someone an evil horrible abuse apologist, that leads to creators deleting their public social media.
in short. i’m so fucking tired and kinda never wanna write my own stuff because if y’all can’t handle a morally grey character, then what’s the point.
