Hi everyone! Again!

I am doing another event at Ministry of Sound. While Flow has been my primary focus for the last few months, this show is designed more like a regular local original live music showcase with a platform at a larger venue in mind. I am only utilising the SMOOVE (Rnb/Hip-hop room) for Ghetto Live as yet. The bands themselves will be playing out of the VIP room due to the FOH in the cage arena feeding back into the mics.

Press Release

A Flow Live music initiative in conjunction with Ministry of Sound, Ghetto Live is a showcase of some of the hot new local musicians to hit the independent scene! With Amplifiers Revved and Guitars Strapped, we build up the platform for these dervishes to bring the house down in Smoove. Like your music live? Live it, starting on the 21st of December. Future installments of Ghetto Live TBA

It all came together when a Chinese/Thai, a half Korean who wants to be an Italian (long story), a tall Burmese guy and a half Portuguese half Indian decided to write songs and make music. The Chinese/Thai and the half Korean dude (guitar and bass respectively) have been friends for too long and they've been writing songs together for some time. They hooked up with the Portuguese/Indian fellow (who by the way is a tad big-boned and plays drums) and started having jam sessions. The tall and skinny (not to mention weird) Burmese guy has been writing songs for most of his life, be it on super market checkout receipts or order pads from restaurants and hotels. He met the drummer while both of them were working in a restaurant (cursing obnoxious guests and incompetent managers) and decided to try out a jam with the other two dudes. As it turns out, they wrote two original songs on the spot and clicked straight away. After doing a few gigs, with the band name changing a few times, they've settled with Ivys Vendetta. When asked about the name, the band members tend to just smile politely and shrug. With influences from Pearl Jam, RHCP, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, Audioslave, Stone Temple Pilots and Stone Sour, its almost a complete mixture of styles and tastes. But the lazy bastards decided to stick to 'melodic' grunge circa the 90s from the Seattle and LA scene with an added pop sensibility. They're working on a single right now and intend to get an EP out by late this year. For the time being though, they'll keep writing songs, playing gigs and eating ridiculous amount of Burger King in hopes of getting a sponsorship from them.

Project Ultrasound

Project Ultrasound, which consists of 4 buddies, Dean, Zali, Fizal and Asni, was established in Jan 2005. Formerly known as Project U.S, they had emerged as Asian Beat 05’ finalist and Battle of the Band 05’ semi finalist. The band is greatly inspired by Rage Against The Machine’s techniques and melodic rock rap tempo. Rebirth in Jan 05 as Project Ultrasound is an invitation to success for them. Ever since then, they were actively involved in several performances and invitations such as at Phunk Bar, Café Cosmo, Gas Haus and Home Bar.

Through front man, Zali’s venomous rhymes frequently backed up by equally powerful rhythm section and often accompanied by unique devices such as loud hailers shows how serious they were in getting their messages across. Also, not forgetting his superb showmanship, which creates a new revolution for Project Ultrasound.

Guitarist Asni, who had won “The Best Guitarist” award twice in Asian Beat is always mesmerizing the crowd with his stunning pick-up changer and unique blend of effects while Dean on bass will often rock the crowd with his remarkable riffs and power play on his bass. Fizal batters up his drums with his accurate and powerful beats that adds to the band’s pounding ferocity and complete their rock rap persona.

Through platform of passion, they yet again achieved another victory when they recently emerged as 1st Runner-Up in the Battle of the Bands – Bring It On organized by Bukit Batok Zone. With this remarkable success, a showcase for individuality and talent is more than a pipedream for this band providing wonderful opportunities for them to record their own demo.

Ultrasound - vibrations of the same physical nature as sound but with frequencies above the range of human hearing.

Guilty Parties are:
Zali (Vocal Sounds)
Asni (Guitar Frequencies)
Dean (Bass Vibrations)
Fizal (Drum Beats)

SEVENFALLS
Sevenfalls an alternative hardrock band came to light in early 2006. It is no coincidence that the birth of the band was through a series of social misfortunes that came about in late 2005. The band found muse in the betrayal of trust that binded them as friends first then band mates.

The members of Sevenfalls hail from different bands, namely The Leaven Trait, Arpee, Pulse, Rafe and Bathroom Acoustics. Needless to say the musical influences range from pop to metal, so what binds them together? The love for heavy hard rocking music fueled by pivotal events in the members lives.

This is their great escape from daily routine, 5 young musicians come together to rock out, write music and hang out for good solid teh pengs and the occasional sheesha sessions. You can hear samples of the band at www.myspace.com/sevenfallsonline

SYAWLA EVOL
Syawla Evol was born on May 28th, 2002 and was conceived by band members Don Juan and Luth Hadrian. They began performing a year later with different bandmembers before finally settling with the current lineup in July 2005. Their concert experience has stretched all over the island of Singapore, entertaining audiences at Esplanade Outdoor Theatre, Youth Park, Sentosa, Zouk, Thumper, the Samsung Skydiving Festival 2004, 3rd Place Cafe and Marine Cove.

They were semi-finalists of Power Jam '05 and are now currently working on an EP scheduled for release by the end of 2006.
