Apparently I'm still having issues with Udugu = they've offered to switch to a new server for me, free of charge which is great however it means the site will be down for approximately 24 hours while that happens..
GRRR! Of course, this always happens when I want to do upgrades on the site!
(My NON -LJ Idol entry - I've gotten behind as I'd been away on business, and will be again next week. So for now, I'll have to do this one entry and miss yet another one next week).
I've read a few entries already regarding what people believe. Some believe in fairies, unicorns, magic, and God. Some believe in other items, intangibles and uncertainties. Some believe in superheros, some don't. Some believe in Angels, some are adamantly against them. This topic has, like many others, made me sit and think, which I why I enjoy LJ idol so much. It makes you think about what you want to write about, rather than the mindless blogging which fills up 90% of my blog time (and wastes about 90% of your reading time!).
All in all to be truthful as I start this entry, I'm not sure what I believe in. There are days where I believe in the Human Race and where I think we can all truly be good people. Then I hear the news, or read the latests feeds and that theory is shot to hell. With constant war, hatred among races, murder, dog-beheading's and so much more, how can the human race be anything good? There are small parts of it that are but most of what we see and hear on a daily basis is 'bad news'. And that makes me sad.
I like to believe in magic, mystery and more - I see beyond the veil that others don't always see. I like to believe its real but even I doubt myself at times in terms of the ability and what I'm being shown. I'd like to believe that it exists but then something happens and I question all over again. There is a basis of belief, but how far does it go? I've yet to determine.
So without going into horrendous detail and narrowing it down, what do I believe?
Basically - I believe that I am here for a reason. I don't know the reason yet, or how it will impact anyone else or *if* it will for that matter.
I believe we all have a purpose, yet we don't always see it or recognize it until it's the right time and some of us, unfortunately will never see it for lack of looking.
I believe we need to have a belief system in the way that it offers a certain shred of hope when all hope feels lost. I believe that if we didn't, we'd self-destruct into complete and utter chaos. Sometimes I believe we are very close to that point.
Most of all I believe in my children and that they will one day change the world we currently live within. That they will learn from our lessons of 'how not to be' in terms of the environment, war, religion and race. I believe that they will bring peace to a world which seems as if peace will never exist. I believe in their future, and it is in that belief that I live my existence as it stands today.
I believe in them, and in them I believe the World may just one day be a better place.
