I can't really say why. I just felt the need to get away from it all. After we put Fergie down, we spent time as a family together. Trying to deal with things, trying to get things in order.
We've redone our mortgage now and paid back my parents in less time than we told them. We got on track and cleared everything up. We were also able to get additional funds to do renovations to our house which we are starting to work on.
Work has been busy. The kids are keeping me busy and I've been painting and writing a little more.
To those of you that sent me emails, pokes and messages thank you for your concern. -Hugs you all- I just needed to separate myself from things and essentially try to find who I am. I'm not sure if that makes sense, and I'm sorry for the ambiguity of it all.
It was peaceful. We were with her the entire time. We held her as they administered the drug.. kissed her goodbye and said 'we love you'..
and then within seconds, she lowered to rest her head between her front paws.. and she was gone. It was as if she sighed with relief in those last few moments.
I've been incredibly busy. Spending time with the kids.
We've had a multitude of bad ass storms lately and so far the weather for the summer sucks.
The biggest news is that tomorrow at 4:15 - Fergie will be going to Doggy Heaven. We had to make the decision and get the appointment. She's withering away.. It's going to be a sad day, but she's had a wonderful life.
I can't help but feel she's looking at me now as if I'm killing her though.
Fergie, We love you. You've been in our lives for many, many years.
I got a new set of clubs with bag for my birthday. Oo.. they are shiny and nice.
Now I can't stop wanting to play.
Luckily for me, I can play golf during my work day and count it as an expense as well as getting paid! It's a perk!
Going camping tomorrow for 4 days - I'll be back on Monday. I'm so excited. Our first camping trip of the year and it times in perfectly with the full moon. Suffice to say I'll be running wild through the bush tomorrow night.
21? Nope - but I'm happily one year older today. (32!!) Thanks to those of you who have sent me birthday wishes! What a wonderful feeling to wake up and see :D
I have the day of work and I plan to catch up on everything I can! I'm also looking forward to golfing tomorrow afternoon and subsequent party-fest in the evening.
I got roses yesterday sent to work. A beautiful bouquet of flowers that my husband was sweet enough to send as a surprise. My kids came to wish me happy birthday this morning while I lay in bed. Can't beat kiddy cuddles!
Here's hoping it will be a good year to come. Lord knows things have crazy lately!
Since I returned from Ottawa, I've been spending time with my kids and working hard. Sam is away this week on training, so now I'm the single parent. He returns on Friday.
We have Soccer tuesdays and thursdays, and with the summer months being here I have a crazy schedule at work.
I also haven't had much to write about, and I've barely been on the computer.
It is a welcome break mind you - one that was probably needed. Life is hectic, but ok.
