Hump day..
My little girl is starting to read. Her teacher commented on it today that she's now reading on her own at school. I've spent my months with her teaching her to pronounce letters and such, and she's taking it one step further. I'm so proud of her. She's 5 years old, which I think is pretty good in terms of reading. I started to read at a younger age (by 3 I was reading and knew all my letters), but I was a child/freak so most of what I did as a kid was not the norm. It makes me feel very special that the time I've spent with her and encouraged her to read on her own is now making headway for her at school.
Connor is doing really well despite the fact he's covered in spots. Most of them are starting to break now and have little red scabs on them. (poor baby). He doesn't appear to be too bothered by them though, which is a good thing. He's still got his appetite, he's playing like normal and he's having lots of fun at daycare. At first I felt guilty about going to work, but he didn't even want to leave daycare yesterday he was having such a good time!
I have a extremely busy travel itinary over the next few weeks.
Feb 28th - March 1st - Flying to Toronto for business - Staying at my brothers for 1 night.
March 4-march 7th - Flying to Toronto again. - Staying at the Holiday Inn
April 9th - april 12th - Flying to toronto - Staying at the Holiday Inn
April 17-April 19th - Flying to Toronto - Staying at the Marriot (Holiday Inn was all booked!)
May 21st till June 1st - Flying to Ottawa for 2 weeks to work in Underwriting (training)
And the above are the ones I currently know about! There are a few more trips I'll be taking that haven't been announced yet.
I also have my First official client meeting on Friday. I'm really excited about it. I don't have any targets or expectations of me at work (for one year) however I'm ready to jump in and just do my job. The client owns a golf and country club south of me, as well as a resort with cottages. He's coming to see me Friday to discuss financial options, and I'll be reviewing his income statements and such. Hopefully we can do something because I'd love to get a deal authorized in my 4th month of work! (I'm an over-achiever!). The strange thing is, I'm use to doing loans for about 2-20k (20k being rare). With the BDC, I'll be looking into loans of 100k to 1 Million and more. Its hard to wrap my head around such figures!
We have meetings all day tomorrow. Its our marketing meeting for 2008. Our year end (2007) is approaching, and we need to plan our events and such for the next year. I'm really glad to be a part of it as I get to speak my ideas for what I want to do. Hopefully they'll listen to me!!
Ok - I've chatted long enough. I didn't realize I had this much to talk about *gulp*! Looking forward to watching Jericho tonight - its been TOO long. On that note though, I'm not as excited about Lost anymore, its totally lost its appeal to me unfortunately. However at least Criminal Minds is on in between the two, so it will help me pass the night until bed. (I LOVE criminal minds. I think I want to be a profiler when I grow up!)
