DISOWN Opens For Orgy at CMJ

Disown has recently secured an opening slot for Orgy at the CMJ in Cleveland, Ohio on Friday, June 10th. Tickets are on sale for $15 and can be purchaced at DISOWN's website (www.disown.cc). "This show is going to be huge", commented Jae Rohrer, "cause there is a greater thing at stake for us that night but I can't say anything more than that at this point in time". The frontman would not elaborate anymore but did say that "this show could possibly be the beginning of the band's future".
Joining them on guitars that night will be Jay from Candy Coated Jesus (www.candycoatedjesus.com) who has temporarily filled the shoes of the late Mitch Langford.
"These guys accomplished so much last year with OzzFest and all", stated Jay, "and they've got a whole new bag of surprises this year…starting with this show"!
Regardless of what DISOWN has in store, this will be the show not too miss for sure. Their latest CD release, "Requiem of One" has already sold over one thousand copies since its release in January of 2005. The band has pushed and fought its way to the top. And by the looks of it, they're not letting up in 2005.

A Night at the Rock Hall of Fame

The votes are in… And the winner is… *drum roll please* ...DISOWN! That's right! The Cleveland FreeTimes announced last week that DISOWN has one the voting to be featured on the MGD stage next Saturday, June 11th at the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame. Along with several other national acts, DISOWN will rock out that afternoon in celebration of music, creativity and _expression.
The band extends their thanks to the numerous friends, family and fans who cast their vote in favor for DISOWN. Unofficially, I heard through the grapevine that DISOWN won by a land slide and that means the DISOWNation out there is growing strong and supportive. So give yourself a pat on the back for making this happen! You've earned it…now go see the fruits of your labor next Saturday at the Rock Hall!
No word as of yet when the "Boys in Black" will be performing but the event will be held in the afternoon from Noon to 5pm.

Fan of The Month - Jason Slagle

This month, I'd like to take the time to acknowlege Jason Slagle (more commonly known as Lil' Ho…especially to the "Ladies" hehe). Now, for those of you that don't know, Jason is the little guy who's been running the stage lighting for DISOWN and Candy Coated Jesus for the past year or so. You might have seen him on stage recently as DISOWN decided to invite him to perform on stage live with them.
This guy deserves more and more kudos every time I see him. For one, he's always willing to help out with anything; whether it be running lights, running sound, loading equipment in or out of a venue, hanging up flyers, promoting, or spreading the word about DISOWN. You just can't beat that kind of loyalty. And it is greatly appreciated.
However, in one of our last performances, some 6 foot 1 jock wannabe decided to take out his drunken aggression on Lil' Ho and pretty much did a number on the poor little guy. We ended up having to take him to the hospital. To make matters worse, the jock strap started bragging about the entire incident. Yeah, how cool. Does the saying "pick on someone your own size" mean anything? I mean, come on, Lil' Ho looks like he's 10yrs old and weighs maybe a buck o' five?? Get real, loser.
Fortunately, he wasn't hurt and the guy who unleashed his drunken fists of fury was hauled off to jail. In spite of all this, Lil' Ho was back the next nite running lights for DISOWN and performing live on stage with us! Now that is commitment. Salute!
