While tidying up my "Writings" folder on my hard drive, I came across this. It was written a few months ago, mid-season 2 of Misfits, but I never got around to posting it. I think it was meant to be two chapters of the same story but it isn't long so I'm posting as one. The beginning is rather pornographic, which is very strange for me, but that's just what Misfits does: corrupt. XD Also worth noting? This is the one and only Misfits fanfic I've ever written so TA DA!

What I've been watching in 2010

Welcome to my list of everything I've been reading and watching in 2010. This is the first time I've done a list on LJ like this (*is nervous at the newness*) so I'm not sure how it will go. I watch so many films and tv shows it may end up impossible chronicling them all. Just a quick one really to say that I'm going on a little bit of a hiatus for November (yes, I know, I don't post often anyway). I thought I better make it official. So here:


So I got up on Monday morning. It was 8am, I was in the shower and I decided to do NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). I know loads of people who are doing it and suddenly I was overwhelmed with enthusiasm. So, yes, I'm attempting to write my very first novel. *is scared* I've written plenty before but very very short stories or scripts. Nothing this demanding or ambitious.

HELP!

Ok, peeps, I need a bit of work-related help and advice. I should explain first what I do. I'm Postgraduate Secretary at the Department of Geography at the University of Sheffield. I don't like the term secretary as people assume all I do is type letters and file. While I do do that, I also co-ordinate all admissions, all programmes, marketing, open days, exams, the PG and Masters Committees, the PG side of the website, as well as any prospective student enquiries and helping out current students. So I'm pretty busy.

There are 2 things I've been wondering about:

1) We were considering setting up some sort of forum that I can administer for prospective students to discuss the course and to 'meet' other students via the internet before they start their course. Our university IT people can't organise something because of licensing. So I was thinking about setting something up myself. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I could do? How do I set up a small forum? Is there a facility for setting up something like that? We were considering facebook groups as a possibililty. Anybody have any suggestions?

2) The most recent addition to my task list is producing the Postgraduate Newsletter. In previous years this hasn't been too awe inspiring so I've been tasked with jazzing it up and making it actually interesting. Has anyone got any suggestions for making it interesting? At the moment we're asking students to submit fieldtrip reports, reviews, news, pictures, all of which sounds a bit dry. I'm considering some sort of puzzle or Geography-related brain teaser? IDEAS ARE DESPERATELY REQUIRED!
