John is turning 48 in March, so he will be hitting the big 50 soon as well. And he has, in fact, grey hair for a long while already, he's always showing us the roots and telling that he is coloring. There are no secrets about this guy ;)

And they are not exactly married for 21 years. They are together since 1993. They met in 1992 already but it took John a year to get the courage to ask Scott out. There are lots of funny stories out there. The way they met - a friend had brought Scott to a theatre play that John was doing at the time. Where the first 10 minutes on stage he was completely naked. Quote John: "Scott knew exactly what he was getting" LOL

Then, they visited him in his dressing room. John was putting on some pants. He turned, saw Scott and knew immediately that this is the man he wants to spend the rest of his life with. And apparently Scott did feel the same, which is already awesome. But John thought he was too young for him, and also they both had other boyfriends at the time.

But then in the next year, John kept seeing Scott, at a bus stop for example, when driving around with his car, and in a big city like London this is amazing I think? So it seems like fate? And then when he finally asked him on a date, Cher called that same evening and wanted to meet with John, after having seen him in a musical. He said, he has a date, which is important. So she said, bring him along. So he brought Scott to the date with Cher ;) There is a picture where he kisses her goodnight later and all the paparazzi thought he was her new boytoy.

They had a civilian partnership and a huge party in the UK in 2006. Since they now live in California, they married two years ago when it became finally possible. No big ceremony, they went as they were, in short pants and unshaven, in the spur of a moment.

You could also have a look for John's biographies if you don't have them. The first book is called "Anything goes", the second one "I am what I am". Both are great reads and tell lots of funny stories about the whole Barrowman family. I love them all.

It's true, Scott likes to stay in the background, but he also used to be much more shy, he has come out of his shell a bit now. He's also doing pictures with fans at the stage door in Glasgow, and he sometimes even joins John at a convention stage. I have even seen some convention pictures taken with the two of them, when he happened to be there. I think he got accustomed to his role as "celibrity husband" now ;) And of course, by walking red carpets together at events, they also subtly fight for equality.

He's an architect, and they buy houses and then he does the reconstruction, and then they rent them out, so he has his own work. He also got his pilot licence recently and flies small planes.

Yeah, I also didn't think that the 'just remember, there's 6 thousand people watching' was helping with the nervousness. And you could really see the moment when he let go and decided to just have fun. And he had a surprisingly great voice, I mean for an untrained guy. It certainly didn't sound bad!

The video ends before the last comment of John, he said that he was worried that he might have to sleep on the couch that evening LOL You can see him a bit worried in the beginning, having no idea what Scott's reaction would be. But two weeks later, at a convention, he told us that Scott had looked at youtube videos of himself LOL And he did it again in Glasgow, this time knowing about it. I sure hope we will get a Scott special again in May in Cardiff!
