(Chhotanagpur Institute of Information Technology and Management)
Introduction
When I took admission in CIITM Dhanbad for the BCA program, I was very excited. I thought I would learn many new things and grow in the tech field. But after some time, I saw the real situation.
Issues I Faced
- In the computer lab, only one computer was working.
- In the whole year, not a single practical class was conducted.
- We were told to write code in notebooks, not on the computer.
- There were very few teachers. One teacher was handling 2–3 subjects.
- Even the HOD was teaching due to a shortage of staff.
My Advice Before Taking Admission
Before you take admission in any BCA college:
- Research the college properly
- Check the placement record
- Talk to senior students
- Visit the computer lab and classrooms to see the real condition
What to Do If You Still Want to Learn
If you want to learn coding and don't have much money, then take admission only for the degree, not for the knowledge. For learning:
- Use free or low-cost online courses
- Watch YouTube videos
- Practice on free coding platforms
- Use LinkedIn to:
- Talk to other learners
- Learn how others study coding
- Follow their journey
- Post your projects, certificates, and achievements
- Join or create your own coding group
- Start contributing to open-source projects
Final Words
Learn all these things. If someone asks you about this college, you can share the truth and help them make a better decision.
I am not trying to demotivate anyone. I am just sharing my real experience so that others don’t face the same issues I did.
