Okay so this may come off as condescending but I'm gonna take that risk cause I saw something at work today that made me think this is possibly not common knowledge
When encountering a potential threat and planning your next steps, it's important to keep in mind the difference between something that is helpful NOW and something that is helpful LATER
For example purposes, let's say you see someone being handcuffed by police. You're concerned for that person's welfare, so you pull out your phone and start filming.
Pros NOW:
- Police might mind their behaviour if they notice they are being recorded.
- The person being arrested may feel safer knowing they have a witness nearby.
Pros LATER:
- If something bad DOES happen, you will have evidence of the truth.
Now look at cons.
Cons NOW:
- There's a reason you're filming- police can and do break laws and harm people. This is fact. If you are seen filming, you may become a target.
- The person being arrested may be scared, embarrassed, angry for any number of reasons, or otherwise not thinking rationally- and if THEY see you filming, there's no guarantee they won't perceive YOU as a threat. Someone who may share video online and ruin their reputation, a spectator mocking them, or a figure involved in a delusion, like a stalker or government agent.
Cons LATER:
- You risk being noticed and remembered later by all parties involved. Your appearance, location, vehicle, uniform, etc. could be remembered later, if not photographed and retained in body cam footage or video from other passersby.
I'm pointing this out because I've seen a few arrests, and while I ABSOLUTELY think we should continue filming, I've also seen some people filming ALSO HECKLE THE COPS.
And this here is where "helful NOW" VS "Helpful LATER" is important: You NEVER want "cons now" to outweigh "cons later".
Later is LATER. Survival is NOW. The more time between you and consequences, the better.
Heckling a cop? Risky. Filming them? Risky. Heckling them WHILE filming them? You're saying "LOOK AT ME, I'M OBNOXIOUS, I BET YOU WON'T FUCK UP ON CAMERA" and rolling the dice.
Because if someone decides to kick your ass, and they're on camera, the camera is only helpful LATER. it's not a shield. It's not helpful NOW, it's helpful LATER. You're still getting your ass kicked.
Our current criminal justice system is fucked. Good news is, there's a lot of shit we can do to look out for one another.
Bad news is, most of it is going to involve being very, very careful about when and how you draw attention to yourself, and none of it is going to feel as good as calling someone a bastard to their face.

Okay so it's been a few months since I kidnapped the princess and uh. No one has come to try to rescue her yet. Like at all. I sent a spy to the kingdom and they just don't care. Like they know she's gone and they're not bothering. She's been crying for a few days straight now. Idk what I'm supposed to do here.
An update on the princess. She kinda broke and was very... hollow for a bit there. It took some time to get her interested in learning magic but she eventually came around to it. I'm trying to goad her into reaping bloody vengeance on the family that abandoned her but she's just been really focused on her studies. Maybe once she's more capable, she is still a beginner after all.
It's been a couple of months and the princess' progess on her magical studies is absolutely *stellar* I swear this kid is a generational prodigy she's already bent a Cambion to her will and is casting higher level necromancy and evocation spells. She's such a good apprentice. Is this what it's like to be a proud dad? I'm buying her a gift. Teenage girls enjoy tomes full of dark rituals and such, yeah?
If the handmaiden misses the princess the handmaiden can come visit. I'd recommend doing so sooner rather than later as a few minions reported hearing mumblings about "dark vengance" coming from her room late at night and we all know those types of plots can take ages to resolve so who knows when the handmaiden's next chance to see her will be.
I can't help wonder who she wants vengeance on tho 🤔 oh well I'm sure I'll find out when she goes to exact said vengeance on those who have wronged her. It'll be like watching a baby bird fly from the nest for the first time 🥹

if you have to rely on specific scripts or turns of phrase to socialise that's totally fine, but you must NOT reveal them to your friends while slightly drunk. it's like showing how the magic trick works, you can't do it in front of them afterwards
i like dogs a lot but i can never remember the differences between breeds (apart from the few types i've actually owned/interacted with). but i know people looove their dogs and love talking about their dogs, so whenever im talking to a dog owner i'll ask what breed it is, and no matter what breed they say i'll say "oh! i've heard they have a really nice nature :D" and they always go YESSS THEY'RE GREAT and start gushing about their dog and we have a nice conversation and i build social credit with this person. anyway i told my friends about this script a few weeks ago when slightly drunk and now every time we're in public together and a dog goes past they turn to me and ask "does that one have a nice nature?" im in a hell of my own making

So! The Time Capsule exploit.
In GSC, the NPC who lets you into the Time Capsule will stop you if she sees that you have a Johto Pokémon in your party.
However, you can “cloak” those Pokémon with the help of ????? (FF):
This glitch Pokémon is index 255, which makes it get mistaken as the “CANCEL” option by the game. So, any Pokémon underneath it in the party list will be rendered invisible to NPCs such as the Pokémon Center nurse - or in this case, the Time Capsule receptionist.
Only 39 of Johto’s Pokémon will turn into a MISSINGNO. - the rest will turn into many different species of glitch Pokémon. You can get almost any species of glitch Pokémon this way, however indexes 00/FB/FC/FD/FE/FF are unobtainable through this method because they aren’t converted properly.
Celebi, oddly, is a one-way conversion as well. Meaning that if you trade your Celebi to Gen 1, it won’t become a Celebi again if traded back. This also means you can’t trade a glitch Pokémon into Gen 2 to get a Celebi.
