viktor being trans entirely on accident (accident as in it wasn't intended for his character but happened because elliot page came out as trans) is actually one of the most beautiful things to happen to his storyline. yup the character who was always an outsider in his family and lashed out to hurt those around him because he felt like an outsider and didn't understand the feelings he had inside of him is trans. yup yup the character who was convinced to become someone he is not by someone he thought he loved is trans. 10/10
you're laughing. The umbrella academy's final season destroyed every character's personal growth and semi-healed traumas, left huge plot-holes, completely abandoned some of it's most beloved side characters that were crucial in previous seasons and you're laugh-oh. You're crying. My bad. Go ahead. Let it out. Understandable.
One thing I haven't heard people talk about. In the finale Murderbot says "may I have my armor" not "will I need my armor" not "do i need my armor" it asks "may I have my armor" and it is denied.
It is denied because PresAux doesnt hear the question for what it is. They hear "will I still need to be a killing machine" when thst is not ehat it is asking. PresAux is trying so hard but murderbot needs to check the perimiter because, not intentionally, its first ask once it is told its allowed to choose is denied.
Idk if this is coherent its 1 am and I am watching the finale for the 7th time and I just realized how important that one exchange is. It feels like its lost its purpose snd it needs to find it. It cant have its armor and it needs to find out what that means
i bring a sort of "hannibal's devotion & deep love for mischa would have in time probably turned destructive, restrictive, possessive & at the very least emotionally incestuous" vibe to character analysis & discussions that a lot of hannibal fans do not like
also i think hannibal is at least partially aware of this. & i also think thats why her memory is such a treasured thing. mischa died before the world or hannibal himself could "corrupt her". she was spared from the harm that might have come at the hands of the person who loved her the most, & hannibal was spared from the impulse to cause her said harm. shes dead so she will always remain a joyful little kid who trusted her brother unconditionally & hannibal will always be able to remain the doting older sibling who protected her as much as he could in the rooms of his mind.
person who genuinely hates themselves so much they can barely look anyone in the eye: i must remain humble lest my hideous ego spiral out of control
i do think a lot about that one german cannibal who consensually ate and murdered (in that order) a guy he met on an online forum, mainly for two reasons
1. the chat logs oh my god dude. they're both so charmingly German about it.
"not so totally legal" to kidnap and eat children off the streets. the outright admission that he wants to eat kids but doesn't because it's illegal. it's so good
2. one of the victim's wishes was to eat his own penis before dying so our mans cut that thang off and started frying it up with some butter but then got distracted by the victim bleeding out and he fucking. he burned the penis. it was inedible, they fed it to the guy's dog. i cannot even begin to imagine the depths of disappointment there. you only get one dick in this world and he fucking burned it.
the student said, "i'm reading a zen buddhist cookbook. with no recipes." and the teacher replied, "ah, dogen's instructions for the cook, written in 1237?" "yeah," said the student, "it's saying not to let rats fall into the rice pot"
letting rats fall into the rice pot violates the buddhist concept of nonviolence, ahimsa. and this is one of the more dauntingly advanced cookbooks i've ever seen
ingredients: 1 grain of dust.
step 1 turn the Wheel of Reality within the grain of dust
i want to see some absolutely dogshit, piss-poor renaissance paintings.
ik the masters were great and everything, but not everyone back then could have been a master. i need some frame of reference over here.
May I introduce you to "The Ricotta Eaters" (1585), a painting I could only describe as Ontologically Evil:
I know it's technically competent, but it just has a horrid aura surrounding it. I don't even care about disrespecting the Italian master Vincenzo Campi anymore, he should have looked at this painting and destroyed it like a sick beast.
They’re eating ricotta in a way we did NOT choose to continue
Nightmare ricotta rotation
