[Bonnie positions her camera so that the following text is in clear view:
“Bonnie Bennett will slit your throat if it means going home.”
“Bonnie Bennett has nothing to go home to.”
She doesn’t say anything for a minute, giving anyone watching a chance to read the rumors.]
So. These things have been following me around town, all day. At first, I tried to ignore them. Then I tried to hide them. Finally, I set them on fire. Multiple times.
[Speaking of:]
By the way Barry, very sorry about your mailbox.
[She clears her throat, and repositions the camera so that she’s back in view.]
But both things are true. I’m owning my crap, I’m not covering it up.
[She shrugs. She could explain more, just like everyone else could. But at a certain point, you either buy into mind games or you don’t.]
Screw that creepy nun. I’m opting out of whatever the hell this is. If you feel the same way, you can find me at The Hair of the Dog. I’d say the first drink’s on me, but I’m a part-time tutor. So everybody's going dutch.
(ooc: Feel free to respond via video or text! There will also be a top-level comment for anyone who wants to send their character to the bar.)

OTA: At the bar
At the time, it had all felt very "the only way to win is not to play." But when you break it down, she just told an entire town of strangers that she'd kill them if it meant getting home. In her defense, she's still 30% sure that everyone here is a figment of her imagination.
Anyone who walks in will find Bonnie on her second glass of bourbon, trying to flip a quarter into her empty first glass.]

[ katherine could've simply replied to bonnie's network announcement of setting a mailbox on fire, rightfully disliking a very creepy nun, and… whatever else that entire debacle had been about (she's in deep denial there), but she doesn't want to. katherine sometimes has the attention span of a cat and she doesn't really feel like being committed to her phone for the duration of a conversation.
without waiting for an invitation, she takes the seat next to her. ]
no subject
Felt a bit like cheating.
[There are several coins on the bar. She slides one over, non-magically, Katherine's way.]
no subject
And a bit like a pyromaniac.
[ she's not judging. she'd set that mailbox on fire, too. it looked ugly. ]
Are you intending to set the bar on fire? I think more than one person would be upset if you did, just a tip.

Anyway, Michael isn't really here for Bonnie's gathering. This is just his shift; he is a bartender. He was coming over to take her empty glass away, but pauses to watch her attempt her quarter trick a couple times.]
You still using that?

She puts a hand over the glass, protectively.]
I'm working on my hand eye coordination.

HIS MAILBOX.
his beloved mailbox, LARRY.
he loved that mailbox so much. so goddamn— ]
Did the postdog come by? I've been waiting for a package for like, days. They're never this unreliable.
[ barry doesn't look like he's in the depths of grief anymore. granted, he is the flash, so he could've super sped his way through all seven steps. ]

[Sorry, neighbor! In her defense: she has said not one word about the random arrow machines in his front yard.]
I checked inside before I blew it up. No letters. There was a Bed Bath and Beyond coupon, but I nicked it. Just got here -- need the throw pillows. You understand.

it's fine. he'll rewind time to stop this or he'll just rob her house. it's fine.
narrowing his eyes suspiciously, he eyes her. hm, she's not a neighbour he can trust—maybe she's the new villain of the season. ]
Are you sure you didn't nick my package, too?
no subject
[Insofar as houses that exist only in your mind are real and make you neighbors and it's wild she still has to sleep here aaaand if she thinks about this anymore she is going to have a panic attack.
She pauses. Breathes.]
Why? Was it something good? Should I be trying to nick your packages?

( he's not surprised, he just thought she'd rip people apart with magic rather than a knife.
he's not sure he wants to touch the other rumor. his own have been here and there (stefan salvatore is a remorseless murderer, stefan salvatore is unwanted and so on. )
no subject
[She's seen Stefan's rumors. They're the same kind of true that hers are.]
You weren't dumb enough to message that nun back, were you?
no subject
( vampire and all. )
You did?

[In Bonnie's opinion, it's actually a bad idea to get in a back and forth with the villain of the week. Caroline and Damon are way more likely to engage in a monologue-off with whoever is threatening to capture/blow up/hold the town hostage on any given day.]
I listened and took some notes, but I actually try to avoid making myself a target to freakishly powerful strangers.
[It's true! Bonnie does not go out and seek drama; drama finds Bonnie and asks point blank if she's a ~Bennett Witch~.]

It's not something to hide. I bet there are more people here who would do that than we think.
