Never thought I'd be so happy to see a bathroom with a door.

My name is Charles Reed — I'm a private investigator and a... newcomer. [ There's a tang to the word. ] The locals seem to be more preoccupied with gardening than whatever's going on in town. Is this normal? The, uh... robots? Talking trees?

I started my own agency since the police force are... Well, they're supernatural cats. More prowling. Less investigating.

I've been here about six months and there's always something happening to keep you on your toes.

Not so much with the regular crimes though. You don't get robots and talking trees every day but you'll find that keeping an open mind is required. You'll see a lot of things considered 'supernatural' or just plain weird.

[ Dagon did that too, in a way. Chtygonnaar definitely did. Oh yes, he knows all about unspeakable horror that seeps into your veins and poisons your mind, making your worst nightmares manifest—

There's a noticeable moment where his eyes glaze over, his attention Elsewhere and then he snaps back to reality ~~oh there goes gravity~~. ]

Hey, I didn't say I wouldn't try to stop you. If anything, I've found that working outside the law is a lot more efficient.
