This was originally posted under the title of A Mercenary's Heart over on the Pit of Voles way back in May 2003. I pretty much forgot about but when I reread it earlier it wasn't quite as bad as I thought. There're some bad moments, some OOC and some lame dialogue. But overall I thought it would be just about worth posting over here.

Well, ok, Deathstroke fans, I have to admit: technically, this is a Deadpool fic. However, the plot so far revolves around a fight with Deathstroke (crossovers are fun!), so I figured I'd post it over here too (I joined here a bit ago so I could get some more insight into Slade). I know if I've made any glaring mischaracterizations of Deathstroke (I'm really a 'Pool expert, but I'm trying to be canon on all fronts)...y'all are the most likely people to tell me. So...you know...constructive criticism welcome!
