Hi there.

Thought I'd post an intro post.

College student who loves metal of any kind. Death, black, thrash, gore, power, any kind of metal. A friend introduced me to Amon Amarth several years back and I've been hooked ever since.
Favorite bands include: Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Enslaved, CoB, Impious.
I'm always searching for new and olds bands to listen to so a death metal community seems to be a good idea. :D

Also, Impious released a new album, "Holy Murder Masquerade," earliar this month and their site has two downloadable songs from the album. http://www.impious.net/

New Suffocation album..

Holy. Fuck. What the hell is it with the old school Death Metal bands that were clearly past it? So-far, now, that's Cannibal Corpse, Deicide and now, Suffocation who have all managed make great albums this year. Hopefully Morbid Angel will cough one up before the year ends. x)

But really. You have to hear this album. I've been listening to almost non-stop over the past two or so weeks. The production on this is perfect.. Makes it sound nasty as fuck. It's superior to 'Souls To Deny' in almost every way possible.

The only one thing that annoys me are the lyrics to 'Misconceived'..

"SHUT UP! SHUT UP.. YOU!"

There's also an awesome re-recording of 'Prelude To Repulsion' from 'Breeding The Spawn.'

Any thoughts on the album for those who have heard it?

NOTE: I know that people will have different opinions about Deicide and Cannibal Corpse being "past it," but it's just my own personal opinion on the matter.
