Sun's out, tongue's out.
What the scene could’ve been.
Maverick stands at the foot of his wingman’s casket. The sun shining just right against the polished wood, once reflecting what they could’ve had together. He feels his heart pound against his chest, his eyes well with tears. His guardian angel is gone. Tom is gone. He shakily grasps his wings as he removes them from his uniform, placing them at the bottom of the casket.
He takes a deep inhale to ground himself. To keep himself from collapsing onto Tom’s casket. He raises his head to take in the amount of people around him. Two sets of eyes are the only ones staring back at Maverick. Viper and Slider. Viper nods and clasps his hands in front of his body. Slider stares back at Maverick with a sense of loss, fear, and compassion. A single tear falls down his cheek. He hadn’t ever lost a wingman, a brother. He saw how much it hurt Maverick, but he never fully understood how hard it hit until he got that call about Tom.
Maverick nods and swallows his emotions as he looks back at the casket, he knew he would have to comfort Slider after the burial. Pounding his wings into Tom’s casket, he salutes him one last time as the jets fly overhead.
I apologize if this isn’t good :( it’s been keeping me up at night. I hope you guys like it. Slider and Viper deserved some screen time :( also crying because I realized that Slider didn’t just lose Ice, Rick lost Val

I think many of us get so caught up in altars, divination, and research, that we can lose sight of what is in front of us. This happened to me for a long long time, before I finally said, “The Gods truly are everywhere.”
They are with us always. They live through us. And most importantly, they will always be there through all things we see and do. No altar for them? No worries, simply connect. The world is our altar.

The gods are in EVERYTHING. You don’t need an altar to honor all the gods. You just need to find them.

"it's all in your head" correct! unfortunately I am also in there
I miss my gods so much. I haven't properly worshiped or even spared a thought for them in months. The last six months have been frantically writing my thesis while working two part-time jobs then moving across the country and now I'm so so depressed. I know they understand and they're waiting for me and will comfort me when I come back. But I just feel so disconnected from them and everything. I want a hug from them. To hear everything will be ok. But I have no energy to reach out or get out my tarot cards. I had to pack up my altar too so all of my physical reminders of them are in a box somewhere.
