Dragon*Con & Sherlock (BBC)

Can you believe it's almost time for dcon 2014? Come and celebrate Sherlock with us on Saturday at 5:00pm on the 5th floor of the Hilton Hotel. This is a repeat event that was done last year. Of course newcomers are more than welcome and you don't have to be a cosplayer to participate.

Hey, not sure if anyone watches this space now, but my usual Dragon*Con group fell through and I was wondering if anyone had room space available? Can, of course, help pay for the room. And does anyone have suggestions for good places to park a car? Can't afford a flight, and I'm only coming down from KY.

Sherlock Meet-up & Photoshoot Dragon*Con 2013

Because there wasn't one and now there is one.

I'm organizing a general meet-up + photoshoot for all fans of Sherlock. Not just the BBC version, but everrrrything.

This is a work in progress, but because of how close the con is, we'll really need to rush to get a time and place finalized and out there to everyone. Or else the meet-up will consist of me and maybe one or two of you reading this...

This is a meet-up for fans and though costuming is encouraged, it's certainly not required. For those that do come dressed-up, we should probably take lots of fun and silly photos while everyone is there. If anyone would like to volunteer to play photographer, please respond, but if not I'm sure there will be cameras there.

Looking at the Dragon*Con PDF I'm seeing there are two Sherlock related panels this year we could have based a meet-up around. One is on Monday at 1:00pm and the other on Friday at 4:00pm a the Sheraton. I think we can mostly agree the Monday time is horrible to base a meet-up around either before or after. A lot of people are packing it in on Monday and it's just THE. WORST. DAY. AND. TIME. EVER. And the Sheraton Macon room is not near any good meet-up locations that I'm aware of. I was tempted to say the Sheraton pool for atmospheric reasons, but I've heard from numerous people that it's open unreliably which was extremely soul crushing.

So...

..ditching the idea of it being before/after a panel... I'm thinking Saturday at 5:00pm at the Marriott 10th floor Skyline. I have cross referenced this date and time with other meet-ups and there are no conflicting use of this space that anyone has reported.

Any thoughts? Ideas? Fun things we can do?

The sooner everything can be finalized the sooner I can get us listed on the Daily Dragon and on the Dragon*Con Photoshoot schedule.

I wasn't at the con last year, but I did see there was an after panel meet-up/photoshoot. I'll be there this year and I was hoping something similar was happening. If not, maybe we should organize something? Only 17 more days!

Another year, and time for another D*Con. Who all will be there this year? :)

If you do not pick up your blankets today, I will be refunding your money and selling them to the people on a list created at the meet up tomorrow morning. I am not taking these blankets home.

So yeah, there was a lot more interest in the shock blankets at the meet up yesterday so I'm considering doing a second order of shock blankets. Who all (besides the people I have the information for from yesterday on the small list of people that would like a blanket) would be interested in this?

I would like to thank everyone for coming to the APPPT! It was such a blast! I want to welcome everyone that is going to find this community now, and make sure to spread the word about it so everyone can find it. Without you all, yesterday wouldn't have been the success it was.
