The voices in our community trying to exclude us may be loud, but they are not right, and they do not speak for the community as a whole or our history or anything at all.

Going so nuts over my bat girl that I made a whole family tree- say hi to Chiro!! I might start posting more about my OCs for funsies! She’s based off a bat I saw once but I don’t know the species it was. Just. A distant memory. Also, fun fact, the names of her and her family come from different bat scientific names (for example Chiro comes from Chiroptera which is the order that all bats come from)(also she isn’t a normal furry she’s an alien that just happens to look like a bat)

What I feel people frequently forget about autistic special interests is that they aren't always information based. They may simply be visual or mental
Someone may have a special interest in a show, but instead of that meaning that they will talk about that show often, it may mean they watch that show extremely frequently.
Special interests are ways of regulating, not simply encyclopedias we have in our heads. Sometimes it's watching something frequently. Maybe only listening to one genre of music, maybe it's a collection, maybe it's an action. I'm tired of it only being seen as autistic people's personal encyclopedias
So, more drop I guess, I’m autistic, but I don’t know a lot about autism and I honestly didn’t know this and I thought I was just bad at being autistic. This isn’t the first time this has happened to me and I really think I need to do more research. There’s so many things in my life that I didn’t realize until years later could be chalked up to being autistic but I thought I was simply weird and didn’t deserve to be called autistic because I wasn’t like the cookie cutter Sheldon Cooper. Life is interesting folks.
One of the most annoying genres of people on the internet are people who act like they believe science is one single monolithic thing. Like, you'll see an article saying something like "scientists studying the movement of tectonic plates", and then in the comments there'll be several smug people saying "smh why are scientists doing this instead of finding a cure for cancer", like. Why would a geologist be doing that.
sexism in medicine kills people. racism in medicine kills people. fatphobia in medicine kills people. queerphobia in medicine kills people. classism in medicine kills people. ableism in medicine kills people.
do not downplay people’s fears about being mistreated because they are a part of a marginalised group. it is a matter of life and death and you should be angry about it.

Note: I’ve been using a spreadsheet reccommended to me to keep track of character ages, but I’m pretty sure several of them were coming out wrong and I couldn’t figure out why lol, so the ages (of Sunstar, Raggedveil and Cottonwish particularly) have probably been all over the place the past while. They’re accurate this moon. We’re in for another LONG moon btw, and long moons will become more common from hereon out. This one will have some juicy stuff, I promise.
