I've been busy. Work's insane, as always. I'm going to the gym more and playing an MMO when I'm not at the gym or at work. I need to work on fic again, but my muse has gone silent again. However, that is what it is.
In squee-rific news, I LOVE the new Agents of SHIELD TV show. Not just because of my love for Coulson, but because it's genuinely a fun show. And tonight's episode was made of pure awesome and win and squee.
My favourite line right now must be "Kill the fish tank." Because of what happened right before that line. So, yeah, SQUEE.
Thank you to everyone who sent me messages for my birthday. I do live, but things have been so insane at work that the mere idea of writing let alone looking on LJ hasn't even been on the cards. I hope everything' going okay for everyone out there in LJ-land.
Hey everyone...I know I've been really silent as of late. Work and real life has kept me very busy. But hey, I live. I'm going to be trying to write some more while on my business trip here, but we'll see. I know I owe Wendy more on her fic. But, anyway, hello world and hope things are going well for everyone. Also, happy holiday season to everyone.
In other thoughts...I'm going to try to do some drabbles to get myself back into a writing mode, so this is me, throwing the doors open for prompts (Sherlock, Avengers or Doctor Who only, please...I'd have issues with other fandoms).
I found out just a few minutes ago that a national icon has died. I know that many people would probably scoff at that nomenclature. After all, we're talking about a guy who walked on the moon, and not an actor or a sports star. It's just some guy with a cool job. Right?
Wrong, I say. There's a reason that I am doing the job that I do today and that reason is men like Neil Armstrong (and women, of course) had the guts and wherewithal to pioneer that particular path. This is a man whose first steps on another planet (well, moon, but you know what I mean) were broadcast around the world and inspired millions. We did that. Humankind worked together, did some amazing things with technology, and went to the moon. Sure, there were other considerations like the space race and wanting to get there first before the "Commies", but I prefer to focus on the wonder. We did that because we could. Because we looked at something and said 'hey, why not?' and off we went to invent new technologies and proceeding to lift not just technology and science but ourselves just a few million miles higher than we were before.
This is a sad day because Neil Armstrong has died. He lived a good life and did many amazing things. And to you, sir, I tip my hat and raise a glass in your honour because people like you are the ones who got us to where we are today.
Title: One Step at a Time Author: Gillian Taylor Character/Pairing: John Watson, Sherlock Holmes, Mycroft Holmes, Harry Watson, Greg Lestrade (Hints at Sherlock/John, so far) Rating: PG-13 Warning: AU from Series 1 Spoilers: S1:The Great Game Summary: One step at a time, that’s what he needs to remind himself. Eventually, he’ll have his revenge. Disclaimer: Don't own them. I just like playing with them...a lot.
A/N: Thanks to nnwest for her encouragement and BRing. Apologies for the delay in this chapter - between my work and my beta's it's taken us a while to get this up here :)
That was awesome! Stop fighting! Maria about Coulson! Tom Hiddleston does a fabulous Alan Rickman impression! Coulson and Cap! OMG! BEST GAG REEL EVER!

A/N: Thanks to nnwest for her encouragement and BRing. Thanks, too, to yamx and neadods for giving this a look over and miss_zedem for Brit-picking. This fic has been a LONG time coming. Once upon a time, there was a little LJ community called help_japan and I signed up. wendymr won me and asked for Sherlock fic. This is the much belated result. My apologies for the delay (life happened, killed the muse, and now it's back). As a note, this is an AU from Series 1. In this universe, S2 didn't happen. I anticipate having the next chapter up by the end of the week.
Because this is awesome, I am copying something that my good friend AK sent to me (Look a date stamp, too, just in case: 8/3/2012, 12:45pm CST). This is a speech we should have seen in the Avengers... (paraphrased from the similar speech from Mystery Men):
Title: Aftermath Author: Gillian Taylor Character/Pairing: Clint Barton, Natasha Romanov, Phil Coulson, Tony Stark, Mentions of Others (hints at Clint/Coulson and Clint/Coulson/Natasha) Warning: Spoilers for The Avengers Rating: PG-13 (for language) Summary: Clint didn’t ask for this to be his life. He never asked to be unmade. Disclaimer: Don't own them. I just like playing with them...a lot.
A/N: Thanks to nnwest for her encouragement, BRing, general squee, and so much more. There are SPOILERS ahead, for the Avengers film. Many Spoilers. Also, I committed fic for the first time in months. Wow. I'm still in shock. Marvel has taken over my brain.
