See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

Hi, I’m Danika (you may call me Dani, any pronoun)

I draw stuff! Mostly fanart, and for the last few years my main obsessions are Critical Role and House of Five Leaves, with a bunch of other fandoms sprinkled throughout.

My art tag is #danikunst

My art-only blog is @danikanvas

I’m on other social media as well, find the links at my linktree.

And if you like my art, please consider supporting me on ko-fi!

A digital full colour drawing of Phineas Thatch and Jonas Spahr from Midst. They are both in free fall, surrounded by clouds and small shards of mica; Phineas face down with his arms and legs spread wide and Jonas facing Phineas. Jonas has his arms outstretched toward Phineas, as if motioning for him to come closer. Phineas looks at Jonas with wide and tearful eyes. He is not wearing a helmet and has a lot of little scratches on his face. Jonas' face is not visible.ALT

(Above is a recent/favourite drawing I made, that will change from time to time! Click on the link below the image to go to the og post. (I’m not sure if this works in the mobile app, sorry))

Below the cut a list of all series/movies/books/games/etc I draw/have drawn stuff for! (Plus links to their respective tags on my blog)

Pinned Post pinned post I made @danikanvas in case people prefer an art-only blog I had to get used to the merge for a bit and considered reversing it for a bit but I quite like it now

excellent clusterfuck of a seekers table we've got coming up, so here's a rough (and a little jokey) guide to where everyone's relationships are at!

ID: A diagram with 7 character portraits arranged in a circle, Vaelus, Thimble, Occtis, Julien, Bolaire, Kattigan, and a greyed-out Thjazi. There are arrows between each with captions, split across three diagrams to cover all possible relationships in a way that's legible. This one has: -Vaelus and Thimble: "Rocky start but now think the other is SO cool" -Thimble and Occtis: "Bonded pair do not separate" -Vaelus and Kattigan: "Have a lot in common but by god will they never talk about it" -Kattigan and Occtis: "Our dogs are better friends than we are, but we have an understanding" -Thimble and Julien: "I've hated you my whole life but right now no one understands me better" -Vaelus and Bolaire: "Mysterious past together" -Kattigan and Bolaire: "Just going with it at this point" -Bolaire and Thjazi: "I neither trust your motives nor enjoy your presence" -Thjazi and Julien: "WHAT. WHY." -Julien to Occtis: "Instinct tells me I have to protect you" -Occtis to Julien: "We've gained some trust from travelling together but not knowing what you want puts me on edge" -Julien to Bolaire: "Gets more out of his depth with every new thing he learns about Bolaire" -Bolaire to Julien: "Drug dealer, apparently"ALT
Second diagram has the following: -Vaelus and Julien: "Warrior's bond!" -Thimble and Bolaire: "Long time forced co-workers" -Thimble and Kattigan: "The torn banner is shrinking by the day - at least I've still got you?" -Occtis to Thjazi: "You were my only way out of a terrible situation" -Thjazi to Occtis "Wow this kid's home life sucks, I can help and he'll be useful" -Kattigan to Thjazi: "My brother my captain my king"ALT
Third diagram has: -Occtis and Vaelus: "Didn't know how they felt about each other before, and now know even less!" -Julien and Kattigan: "You know you're allies, but do you know each others' names?" -Thjazi and Thimble: "Most important person in my life" -Bolaire to Occtis: "Nice kid, important narrative piece" -Occtis to Bolaire: "Museum guy is way weirder than I thought" -Vaelus to Thjazi: "I hunted you down because you stole from me to do something I... ultimately helped with."ALT
The fourth image is an overlapping of shapes similar to a venn diagram. In the category "Thjazi Fang was very important to me", we have Thimble, Occtis, and Kattigan. Vaelus and Julien join those three in the category of "I have a personal vendetta against Primus Tachonis". And Bolaire overlaps with Vaelus and Julien in "I have a personal vendetta against Thjazi Fang", with a "(maybe)" under Vaelus' portrait. Thjazi's portrait is off to the side and labelled "Thjazi Fang" /end IDALT

it's also such a shame azune has to stay back in the city again, both bc he has so wanted to go with thimble everywhere and can't

but also bc as things stand at the end of convergence this is my personal favourite relationship in this campaign 😂

ID: Image similar to the above but just of Occtis to Azune, with the label "Black hole into which all of my most important items are lost forever" /end IDALT

I said I’d potentially post some of my ocs, so uhhhh (chucks my guys at you and runs away)

These are some of my campaign npcs that I have art for, I’m running an exandria campaign set in lssylra bc I honestly just love the vibes of the content and am sad we haven’t gotten a campaign where it was the starting location yet from cr, so I made my own :D

we have Xander the pale, the (current) main antagonist and one of the pcs shitty absent father, he’s a warlock who ran a cult in the past that seems to be resurfacing, and seems to be tangled up with a lot of the other antagonists from character backstories :3

image

This guy is Bartholomew of avalir, (aka Bartholomew the befuddled or just bart) a mage who specialized in interplainar travel before getting stuck in the feywild due to a mishap with his thesis, and coming back to find millennia had passed in the material plane after the party rescued him

image

And then the attorney, who is a mysterious figure associated with but not the holder of a contract with two of the pcs, he is a fiendish creature who occasionally appears to be vauge and unhelpful before vanishing again in a puff of fire, he also seems to have a long standing association with Xander the pale (:

There’s my little dnd infodump for y’all, hope you like my guys :D

a picture of a small sketch book with a watercolour painting in it. It shows a big field of deep orange flowers, with sky scrapers at the edge of it, at sunset. There's a dip pen, a brush and a watercolour palette around the sketch book.ALT

I'm going to do another mokuhanga artist in residence program in little over a month. I had to submit a project plan for my application, but for that I only needed to describe what I wanted to do. It's based on the picture below I made in Hamarikyu gardens in Tokyo.

I'm sure there's time to sketch and stuff during the program, but considering the fact that I like detail and thus it will take a while to carve out each block, I thought it best to start now. This is a quick sketch to see of the separation and layering of colours I planned works. I think it does! If this is correct I will need six wood blocks (or three when I use both sides) for eight colours.

I'm not done sketching though. I want to experiment with the shape of the clouds in any case. I think it might also be smart to make a digital sketch, because with watercolours I can only add shapes and colours, and a digital drawing will allow me to simulate carving stuff out.

A picture that the previously described watercolour painting is based on.ALT

A picture of a desk with six prints of the above described image. There are four woodblocks propped against the wall and a large number of tiny bowls with differently coloured inks and with brushes sticking out.ALT
A picture of two of the prints.ALT

Aaa this print has been done for a week - I've actually been working on a second print for a bit. So many things went wrong with this print, but I learned so much as well and in the end I'm really happy :) I will post a better scan after I get back home.

I do think I'm a more confident mokuhanga printer now, so hopefully it will be easier to do it at home now. I really like this technique..

one thing i love abt black sails is that it’s a show that you can watch. if you haven’t seen it, and you think you can’t watch it, good news! you can. it’s a show, and you can watch it. now, even. if you feel like you’re waiting for the right time to start black sails, the right time is now! if you think you missed your chance to watch black sails— good news! you didn’t! you can still watch it now! there’s no better time than today. if you’re wishing you could’ve watched the show a few years ago when the fandom was more active and it was in its prime— good news! you’re making that up, or you’re being lied to. there was never a major black sails moment on this site, and not that many people have seen it to begin with, so you don’t have to worry about missing out on anything. also, nearly everyone who has ever seen the show is still posting about it today, plus we get a few new people each year, so if you think about it, we’re really in our prime right NOW ! and we’ll be even better off, once you watch the show. you can watch it at any point. you can find it steaming somewhere probably, or you can do what most people do and pirate it, you know, to get in the black sails spirit. it’s a show. and you—yes, you—can watch it.

literally the worst way of ending a series is “all the survivors are happily straight married with tons and tons of babies!”

ishimarukiyotaka

people still getting mad at this post i made in 2014 so I will add here. in 2026. that the point of this post isn’t “happy endings bad” its when the story’s only way to imagine a happy ending is a heterosexual nuclear family for everyone.
