Graduation

I graduated on Friday, finally all those years of college paid off. As such, time for the journal to go friends only. Please comment here to be added.

Not looking like a dork at graduation

Thanks Christa!! She totally hooked it up with the instruction on how to wear an academic hood. I get this huge crazy hood thing for my Master's degree but they didn't give me the instruction on wearing it. Talked to Tiney and apparently at Marty's graduation people were wearing them ass-backwards. Why did they give handouts instead of posting it on the school website? Who knows.

Finally, something to look forward to

Kingdom Hearts II

I liked the first one, I mean as a game it was different, but I liked the story. The trailer for this second one lookes even more promising. I think KH1 and KH2 might have the capacity to be the FFII and FFIII of this generation of gamers.

It looks like the turned the gummi portion into some real shooter shit. And they've made the limit breaks even more badass looking. Makes me want to go back to kendo, I think humans were built for swordplay :)

Plus it's got Stitch, how can you go wrong with that?! :)

Put a fork into me

Cause I'm done! I officially finished my last Final Exam ever. It's funny cause I showed up like 20 minutes late and still finished before half of the class :) Drinky drink time :)

The end is near

So my last exam is Tuesday, I think I'm going to go to the bar right afterwards and get a drink or two. If anyone want's to meet me at the Swamp around...oh 3ish. If not me and Christa were thinking of hanging out with people and having the drinky drink sometime this week before actual commencement :) Anyone? Takers? I wouldn't mind getting some people together and hitting up some place for food beforehand. (I'm always partial to Yamato's but anywhere really is cool)

I never liked the idea of Splenda

Here's some excerpts from an article at Mercola.com

As of 2005, only six human trials have been conducted on Splenda (sucralose). Of these six trials, only two of the trials were completed and published before the FDA approved sucralose for human consumption. The two published trials had a grand total of 36 total human subjects.

36 people sure doesn't sound like many, but wait, it gets worse, only 23 total were actually given sucralose for testing and here is the real killer:

The longest trial at this time had lasted only four days and looked at sucralose in relation to tooth decay, not human tolerance.

They claim that over 100 studies have been conducted on Splenda. What they don't tell you is that most of the studies are on animals.

There have been no long-term human toxicity studies published until after the FDA approved sucralose for human consumption. Following FDA approval a human toxicity trial was conducted, but lasted only three months, hardly the length of time most Splenda users plan to consume sucralose. No studies have ever been done on children or pregnant women.

If you look at the research (which is primarily extrapolated form animal studies) you will see that in fact 15% of sucralose is absorbed into your digestive system and ultimately is stored in your body. To reach a number such as 15% means some people absorb more and some people absorb less. In one human study, one of the eight participants did not excrete any sucralose even after 3 days. Clearly his body was absorbing and metabolizing this chemical.

Bottom line If Splenda stays in your body, the probablity of the chlorine molecules they add to it breaking down and seperating out is very high. Chlorine in your body totally jacks you up. But you know if people want to slowly poison themselves because they're too lazy to burn off some extra calories from sugar, let them I guess.

(no subject)

My journal will be going friends only shortly because as I start my professional career I think need to start making my private life more private. The last thing I want is to have a co worker stumble across some errant rambling I posted and get in trouble for it. So if you read my journal and aren't friended, let me know and I'll consider adding you ;)
