The Front Door

This journal is now friends only (apart from the anon posts), since I have plenty of public spaces out there on the internet, and let's face it: the world is full of crazies ;) Oh, I don't mean you of course; you don't seem the type at all. If you want to add me, just drop me a comment here and I'll add back when I see all the cool stuff we have in common.  I won't add back if you don't say hi, just to give you a heads up.

If you're looking for my fanfiction, can I please direct you to fictorium?

Friends Cut

Let's face it, I barely fandom here any more. This journal is still useful in that it's a mostly friends-locked place to share my feelings with friends so I won't ever get rid of it.

That said, if we don't really know each other personally or we've drifted, I've decided to call it a day. Please feel free to do the same as there'll be hardly any public entries. Also consider this friend amnesty - if you want to get rid of me, go right ahead.

Link Dump

Written for me by lovely and talented people:

These Holidays Won't Be Wonderful - Once Upon A Time - Regina/Emma (PG) written by girlie_girl_23
It's a lovely look at Emma Swan through the years, using Christmas as a check-in point. It's sad and beautiful but there are laugh out loud lines too. And the dedication made me cry :p

It Was Almost Like a Song - West Wing - Toby/Andy (PG) written by dancinginsane
She got me. She got me big time. I did not expect a full-blown story of loveliness and bittersweet amazingness, but look what I got. It's Andy and Toby hanging out in season 3 and there's some booze and some dancing. Also 'the coven' which is the best thing ever thought up - Andy and her two sisters who look like Michelle Fairley and Connie Nielsen. It's a thing.

That’s me in the corner, that’s me in the spotlight - The Good Wife - Diane, Alicia, Kalinda (PG)
It's titled with a line from one of my favourite songs. It opens with a Hillary Clinton quote. And it's about three of the best women to appear on a TV screen, ever. Genfic done right - read it.

Other People's Fic (including Yuletide finds):

Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better - Bridesmaids - Annie/Helen (PG13)
“I’ve got amazing lesdar, Annie. Ah-mazing lesdar and you pinged it right from the beginning.”

Or the exact moment Annie realizes she’s been in love with Helen the entire time.

Another Spell - Once Upon a Time - Emma/Regina (PG)
When a second spell is worked over the town of Storybrooke, everyone thinks Emma and Regina are a couple raising their son together. Everyone, that is, except for Henry.

A Year in Words (or 300,000 words and how I got there) - 2011 Masterlist

Under the cut is all my fic writing for this past year (I'll update the remaining Giftathon fics as I post them).

Obviously I also edited/rewrote last year's Nano--Rogue Nation--and submitted it for a contest (hands up if you're sick of hearing about this project, huh?). Some of you have that second draft and I know a few of you wanted to share thoughts but weren't sure how to best go about it.

So this is feedback amnesty - anon comments on, IP logging off, and every comment screened. Say whatever you'd like (good or bad) about my writing this past year - things you wish I'd done better, things you want to see more of, or thoughts about the novel as well as fic. Of course, you can comment under your own name if you wish, but the option is there.

Now, on with the (freakin' scarily long) list:

In Memoriam

You want to see me orchestrate this right now? You want to see me mobilize these people? These people who would walk into fire if you told them to. These people who showed up to lead. These people who showed up to fight. [points at Charlie] That guy gets death threats because he’s black and he dates your daughter.

He was warned: “Do not show up to this place. You’re life will be in danger.” He said, “To hell with that, I’m going anyway.”

You said, “No.”

Prudent, or not prudent, this 21 year old for 600 dollars a week says, “I’m going where I want to because a man stands up.”

Everyone’s waiting for you. I don’t know how much longer.

It's December 16th. When you see this, quote Leo McGarry.
