Celtic Revisionist History

The first time around I played Lords of the Realm III, I didn't care for it that much. Actually, I preferred the game play of LOR II, and LOR III just didn't run that well on my laptop. Since I started using my new desktop however, I've really begun to appreciate the game. Right now I'm playing as the Irish, allied with Robert the Bruce and the Houses of Gwynedd/Gloucester (Wales) and seriously sticking it to Longshanks and Percy. I started out by unifying all of Ireland and then used my safe passage with House of Gwynedd to ship some armies over and took the area as far as Straffordshire and Lincolnshire effectively cutting England in half. I then split my forces and sent one north and the other south. No severe losses so far.

When I'm finished with this campaign I'll probably play it again, once as Scottland and then as England. I just had to give me fightin' Irish the first round. :-P

Went back to work today after a week's vacation. Nice to already be heading into the weekend again, the development cycle is going to start picking up soon, and working weekends and late weekdays is just around the corner.

"Specifically, some of the goals of these scientists are to discover previously unknown particles (such as the Higgs boson), find evidence of supersymmetry, study properties of top quarks, identify mini-black holes, investigate substructures of leptons and quarks, and explain other universal mysteries such as the origin of mass, the number of dimensions, and characteristics of dark matter (a major part of the universe still unexplored)."

Exciting stuff, but also a bit scary . . . as they will be utilizing "energies never before generated on the Earth."

"No affiliation 6"

And 2 Buddhists . . . I never would have guessed that. I wonder if there are any closet atheists . . .

"Perhaps the most intriguing assertion McKenna makes is that human consciousness came about in its present form as the direct result of the interaction of higher primates with psychoactive plants (primarily mushrooms, in his opinion), which amped up and increased the complexity of our brains, giving these newer primates (us) an evolutionary advantage."

An interesting review. I also never would have considered television a drug, but I can certainly appreciate that perspective.

"Our electron binding energy equation for the 1s orbitals are not exact, but very close, especially considering all elemental ground states are calculated from first principles. . ."

Uh-oh, the Aether is back. I'm keeping an eye on this one . . . the toroidal models are interesting.

Funny Farm

Tom finally got around to liberating the embryos . . .

Someone sent me an email about a Hummer Memorial . . . does anyone else see the irony here? Hummers average around 8 - 10 mpg.

Please don't feed the homeless people. This has been a public service announcement.

Ahh, corruption . . . it's good for business. $58 million behind in paying for medical services? I'm in the wrong career field.

Guess what, apparently not speaking good English is a crime. Can you say racial discrimination and entrapment?
