So, here's a baby entry.

We've been using cloth diapers for most
of Alpha's life - excepting his first month or so, and twice when trying to
eradicate yeast rashes. Our current working stash includes eighteen
prefolds and doublers, five covers, five pockets (for night use), and five
fitteds (for when we're out of the house). I do diaper laundry every third
day.

Overall, I'm happy with it - there're plusses and minuses, like with
everything, but it's working pretty well. It's much cheaper, and not as
inconvenient as I'd feared, and it's definitely helping with the
elimination communication stuff!

The only thing that frustrates me is that he seems to perpetually have a
yeast rash; the doctor has us using prescription cream with every change,
but that's only a holding action. I've started turning up the water heater
to 150°F/65.6°C when I do the diaper wash, though, and that finally seems
to be doing something.

I'm going to try and get two dozen prefolds when we size up, and that
should be nice - less urgency to fold and put them away after
washing.
