It's been a while since I've done one of these, if I ever have, so if I had, it'd be grotesquely out of date anyway. I never know what to say in these things, but I'll give it a shot; let me know if I've missed a topic you're curious about or want more information on something, etc.

Hi! I'm Sora. I'm a 27-year-old wife, mother, and inveterate geek. I don't post a lot these days, mostly through a factor of not having a lot of time to type up anything lengthy; I should probably resign myself to just posting shorter things, but then it'd end up being a rehash of my G+ stream... Not sure if that's a good thing or not.

Anyway. Taking my self-descriptors in chronological order and writing a brief paragraph about each...

I have a moderately silly number of hobbies in various states of 'activeness', from reading (mostly scifi/fantasy and fanfic thereof), to embroidery and sewing, to gaming (both board- and video-), to light coding projects (most recently php with a dash of SQL), to astrology (I'm a Gemini, my husband's a Libra, our son's an Aquarius; can you say 'Air signs'?) and tarot, to puzzle-solving and (less often) -writing. Of these, I'm likeliest to talk about the latter-most; I participate in a fair few puzzle-solving 'competition' events (and our teams usually place in the top five) locally. There're a lot of other hobbies I have as well; they'll get mentioned as they come up, I'm sure.

I married the most amazing man I've ever met; Chris (aka [livejournal.com profile] darthparadox/[personal profile] darthparadox) is a more wonderful human being than I thought could possibly exist prior to meeting him in 2005. We started dating eight days after we met and living together about two and a half months after that, and got married three years and change after that in June 2009. He's also very modest, but don't let him dissuade you from knowing he's fantastic. ♥ As an example of both our mutual geekery and his awesomeness, here's his recounting of the proposal story.

I gave birth to our first child exactly eight weeks ago today, on February 18th. Our son goes by the internet code-name of "Alpha", since he's not old enough to decide whether or not he wants to be easily googleable, and we want to leave that choice up to him. "Alpha" is, therefore, obviously not his real name. He's a dear, sweet baby, and he's just starting to have more of his personality show, which is incredible to watch. Most of the little I post these days has to do with him, and is filtered. (Or possibly "was filtered"; the new phone app I just installed doesn't support filtered friends groups, so I may have to tag and cut those entries instead, and if you don't want to see even that much... Unsubscribe from the tag 'alpha'? Sorry. :-/ )

I'm lucky enough to be a Stay-at-Home Mom, but I used to work tier 2 tech support for a website and software company serving a particular market. I'm very good at troubleshooting, which is probably because I think of it like a puzzle (and, as covered earlier, I love me some puzzles), and I'm getting decentish at coding (not a pro, by any means, but not completely incompetent). Suffice it to say, I really did enjoy the technical aspects of my job quite a bit. That said, I'm very grateful to be allowed the opportunity to stay home with Alpha (and our planned future kid[s]); so far, it's been both fascinating and frustrating, amazing and icky, and overflowing with love (and dirty diapers). I can't wait to see how Alpha grows up.

Other than that, I'm not very interesting these days; I don't mind and honestly prefer it to the vast, vast majority of alternatives.
